Greetings all! It's been a hot minute! So, as the title says, I've been gone for some time. I first started playing during GVG, and I quit in the latter half of TBP. To keep things succinct, I'm a little out of the loop now. Quite a few expansions have came and went, and I've no clue how the meta looks or what really to expect--not that I really ever played "meta" decks anyway. I still have quite a varied collection of Wild cards except for what I missed since TBP, but I'm usually a Standard guy, personally. I'm just wondering if any of the more well-versed folk have any tips for an old player who's looking to get up to snuff on the new sets and metas. I've already taken a glance at the Hearthpwn expansion guides, but those will only take you so far. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.
Pretty much all the information you need on the meta can be found on HSreplay. Go the decks section and filter by WR and you will see all of the strongest decks categorized by WR. You can also check the meta section to see which archetypes are consistently performing well and which tier they are considered to be in. You can also filter by cost to see which decks are easiest to craft and by games to see which have the most data to substantiate their WR. If you're looking for info on the new rating system, I would recommend checking out the popular thread on these forums about it or going to Blizz's official blog explaining how it works. Welcome back and GL on ladder!
Just one more thing, don't make any silly moves before the new expansion is out and the meta settled (you know like buying packs or crafting stuff). The value of cards from the expansions you're missing might change drastically and it's only a few days away for the expansion... then the meta... especially if there are nerfs... might take a little longer... but you'll have a much better idea of what you're missing and what will then be complete trash...
