I was rank 5 playing druid last season, and saw some really good Warlock giant decks around. I decided to give it a try this new season and i can't get past rank 15. Any thoughts you guys would like to share with me ? has anyone achieved legendary with giant decks yet this season ?
The thing about Warlock giants is, you are likely to die in the transition to the late game due to it's risky style. The object is to play as slow as possible until turn 9, when you have access to massive healing through Lord Jaraxxus and Alexstrasza.
If you are trying to rank up, I would not recommend giants due to the high amount of rush down decks. In general, most giants decks work better in the tournament scene.
One thing I have found is that giants do work well but not mountain with twighlights. You give up too much early game trying to get a large hand for them. Consider removing them and putting in some solid early game cards like harvest golems and maybe an ooze or voidwalker. You will now have a better early game that can trade well or at worse buy time and allow for an easier transition into end game. For end game you should still have 2 moltens and Lord J which is more than enough for any deck to overcome easily.

Handlock is not bad now, thou i feel its a bit weaker than previous season due to lots of zoo warlocks at middle ranks. At 5+ where druid/war is the most frequent matchup, its still doing well. Didnt hit legend yet but definitely will (hit it previous season as well). Tink/pagle nerf is also in our favour. Also if u used to play druid a lot, u'll need some practise to get used to handlock coz its quite a different playstyle. And dont overrate this deck - as a druid u could feel its a bit op, but generally its not)

Could you post what handlock deck version your using? I'm having trouble deciding what spells i want to prioritize taking over others.

This http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/33109-giant-warlock . As for spells, the only options are 1 or 2 shadowflame and 1 or 2 shadow bolt, coils and soulfires shouldnt be removed (as well as siphon). I also like the leeroy+overwhelming combo, then u'll also need 2x shadoflame for sure.
I've been running it for a few matches now, but I'm having a bit of trouble with hunters. They burn me way too quick and the game is usually over by turn 6 or 7. The build I'm running isn't suited for the early game at all. I find myself using my hero power for turns 2-4 usually
so i got to rank 5 with handlock. So far in my experience hunters are the biggest treat, i have lost games where my board has 3 giants taunted on the board along with lord jaraxus, Kill command is my most hatted card...
Apart from hunters i have found that zoo locks and Murwrwlocks and easy to deal with, just drop your ancient watcher turn two and wait until your opponent masses creatures and then you use shadow flame and clear his board, if you are lucky you can put two molters from your hand and even if its turn 6 taunt up that same turn ( if your life is 10 or lower).
easiest match ups, priest, always drop twighlight drake, they can't trade evenly. Control pally is also easy to counter, just remember not to put all your creatures at once on the board otherwise they will combo with equality.
Druids are an easy game IMO unless if they are token druids. Token druids will flood you and unless you don't have a hellfire or shadow flame you are done for good.
How is the meta for you guys after the think and nat nerf i have heard that a lot of Handlocks are starting to show up, i have not really noticed this change yet.
I'm so glad there is prejudice against playing hunter/zoo/[insert FotM deck here]. People like that make the life so much easier for those of us who play to win.
Malygos is another win condition. Works rather better than Ysera with Handlock.
"Deal 5 to all non-Ysera" - "wat - my precious giants!"
On the other hand, you start throwing around Soulfire for 6, and yeah, it ain't bad.
I run Malygos myself with Handlock, so yeah, that's how I see it.

Thanks for sharing! ill try it for sure
Zoo and Miracle Rogue destroy handlock. Otherwise, it's a solid deck through most of the meta shifts we've seen.

disagree, i feel this matchup is generally in handlock's favour
@ Moyetitan : How many Shadowflame copies are you actually using?
This guy got legendary pretty early in the season mostly playing giants warlock: http://www.twitch.tv/thegwalls

This is the Build I use
Wow, malygos, dont see him alot! Hows it working for you with maly and handlock in general?
Well a 3rd of the deck is spells and that plus 2x soul fire is a great way to finish a game in a mirror match
