I'm still not completely sure why Leeroy needs replacing. He's still good, just not as OP as before. Still 6 dmg, 12 if faceless'd on turn 10, 14 if double PO'd. He's just not 20 dmg. That's okay, you know.

i was thinking the same and i played a lot of games with him-he is still my favourite card-but he didn't help a lot.most of times was unplayble cause of the 2 whelps.and think that i wasn't thinking to replace him.now i use alex in his place and thinking to add syl but theres no place cause of rag. Also i am thinking to try Arcane Golem but not sure yet
I'm thinking along the same line as you guys. Leeroy isn't bad at all, still a great card at 5 mana for a 6/2 charger. But IMO he's not as optimal as other plays anymore. The Arcane Golem is a great replacement when paired with Alexstrasza or Jaraxxus, after all the main point of Leeroy is to deliver that finishing blow and Arcane Golem can do that just as well with Power Overwhelming+Faceless Manipulator for 16 damage (and if you have any Soulfires up that to 20 or 24). I just replaced Leeroy with Arcane Golem and crafted an Alexstrasza with the DE dust (not Jaraxxus because I needed Alex for my Warrior Control deck). Like most of the time I play handlock, it usually doesn't boil down to needing the burst combo to win, but it's nice to know I have it if the cards play out.
I've also thought about adding in a Syl, TBK, or BGH somewhere, just not sure where yet. Here's the deck I've been using lately
*As an update, I finally got to use the combo in a Token Druid match a second ago! I cleared the board trading minions, then layed down Alexstrasza on an empty board. Druid plays a Gadget Auctioneer and plays some cheap spells to draw into a Shieldmasta. Next turn I smack the taunt with my dragon, then lay down the Golem+PO+FM combo to take him from 15/1shield to 0 (and had a Soulfire in hand). :D !
leeroy isn't even needed. too many 8/8 is eenough to finish games. id suggest to just omit leeroy or avoid using arcane golem as a substitute. you're better off with bgh / black knight to counter taunts and giants/ 8/8's for the meta is filled with fellow handlocks and control decks.
It's a nerf to the combo. With 10 mana you could play Leeroy, buff him to a 10/6 with Power Overwhelming, and copy him with Faceless for a 20 damage push to lethal damage. Upping Leeroy to 5 mana makes that possible only if you hold onto a coin until endgame, if you have the coin, making him not the optimal choice IMO for that burst combo push. Just as a 6/2 charger he's still awesome, even FM him for 12 damage, and if you have Soulfires even better. He's not unusable by any means, but he may not be as good as he was at 4 mana for the intended purpose.
quick question - should my 1st legendary be Ragnaros? (i mainly play handlock)or should i wait for new cards or maybe craft something else? Im pretty sure he will make huge difference in my handlock deck, but just wanna ask you guys for opinions
Handlock is in an amazing position right now. The Leeroy finish was a cute extra way to win, but the deck can just win on its own. Its all over the meta now for a reason.

No way dude, Jaraxxus is way more important for handlock. Most good handlock decks don't run Ragnaros. Ragnaros is a good legendary to craft first if you use a variety of decks however. But for building a handlock deck honestly, you don't really want Ragnaros
Aggree but it's his first legendary so Rag it's a must

Ragnaros is great in Handlock because your opponent will have used all of their removal for 8/8's by the time he comes down. He's much more proactive than Alex or Jaraxxus, and Handlock is a midrange aggressive deck at its core.

As a first legendary you probably want a neutral legendary so you can have it in more than one deck but i would say lord jarraxus is best in handlock deck
I would vote for Rag, it's extremely versatile and always demands an answer. Jax is extremely good in Handlock, but it's not necessity. It could be replaced with Alexstraza or Rag (both of which can find good spots in other decks).

sylvanas is also good. i like her better coz you can combo it with shadowflame.
I recently switched Rag for Syl and I'm liking it a lot more with Shadowflame than YOLO Rag.
ragnaros is strong against certain decks but definitely not a necessity to have in handlock decks.

Hey, I love Jaraxxus in handlock.
(keeps sacrifice handy for the inevitable jaraxxus appearance. Handlocks are easy win.)
