Miracles are the ones who might dissapear after this nerf. Handlock did'nt needed Leeroy, and shamans still can make the windfury Leeroy combo with two Rockbiters for 24 damage. We'll have to see if it keeps alive somehow or just turn into maly-rogue or other decks like tempo and aggro.
That said I don't think Handlock has to even run the combo now that Hunter is dead, Nerubian Eggs seem like a lot of fun and Sludge Belcher and Loatheb aren't as necessary.
I would rather just keep Watchers in Handlock as the only 2 drops requiring another card to activate, 2x Watchers plus 2x Eggs is too excessive, if you draw into Egg in the mid game, it really slows you down. And I disagree about Sludge Belcher, I daresay it is the best taunt in game at the moment, he just slows everybody down, aggro to control alike, and is vital in Handlock.
I don't get what the fuss is over hand lock and this nerf... Wasn't it basically a dead deck in the hunter format? Now you will be able to play it again.
No.i am playing 3 seasons now handlock and i didn't stop playing handlock those days with hunter.first it was difficult, but then i learned how to mulligan and play around

Hunter dead=Handlock revives. Leeroy nerf is insignificant. But I might as well consider keeping Leeroy in my deck. That extra 6+ damage can really help you push for surprise lethal, in any stage of the game.
As for other legendaries, Ragnaros and/or Jaraxxus will do for me.(don't have Alexstrasza)
With Miracle and Hunter effectively dead, Lord Jaraxxus may become popular again. He suffered to the fast decks or those that can combo you from 15+ HP. His biggest weakness will be people who tech in things like Sacrificial Pact and Combo/token druid.
Lol? Handlock will barely be affected at all by the Leeroy nerf. A lot of handlock decks never even used Leeroy to begin with. The only thing that will change is that you can't do the Leeroy + Power Overwhelming + Faceless combo, but you hardly ever actually use that combo anyway.
As with the miracle rogue, there will be 3-4 different handlock builds.some people will still use leeroy-like me at least for some more days-,others will run golem with double po,others will use Jaraxxus and other Alex, rag. As smcneal told it seems a good combo alex and then golem+po+face for 16 damage or even 20 with soulfire

I've seen a lot more control decks (priest/shaman/paladin/warrior) along with handlock so far. Shaman and priest are pretty good against handlock and warrior control. And I haven't played many zoo at all *yet* , which really surprises me.
I've faced mostly zoo with my handlock. Usually they end up getting a god hand or I don't draw into taunts so I'm dead by turn 6. If I live til turn 8-9 I usually win.
Shaman and Paladin are slightly favored against Handlock, but Handlock beats Priest and Warrior pretty well and dumps on Druid and Zoo. I'm a bit confused by the experiences of the two posters above me.
Aggro or rush decks will be favored against handlock if the handlock doesn't draw into AoE clear or taunts by roughly turn 4 or 5. Having to tap in order to cycle your deck to produce threats also helps them DPS you down. However if you get the ancient watcher+owl or sunfury and a hellfire early, it should be extremely easily to maintain the board long enough to get out giants and taunts, after which point it's a cake walk.

I haven't had a bad time against paladin at all. Just keep one threat on the board and force them to deal with them one at a time. A silence on a giant that has had humility put on him or used on an ancient watcher will give you an additional threat. Saving a silence for tyrion is also important.
I'm still not completely sure why Leeroy needs replacing. He's still good, just not as OP as before. Still 6 dmg, 12 if faceless'd on turn 10, 14 if double PO'd. He's just not 20 dmg. That's okay, you know.
i was thinking the same and i played a lot of games with him-he is still my favourite card-but he didn't help a lot.most of times was unplayble cause of the 2 whelps.and think that i wasn't thinking to replace him.now i use alex in his place and thinking to add syl but theres no place cause of rag. Also i am thinking to try Arcane Golem but not sure yet

Sludge Belcher is interesting. He seems like Taz'Dingo+Footman but in reality he's like a Sunwalker, except you have to pop the divine shield last.
I barely ran the Leeroy + PO + Faceless combo. But dare I say Leeroy + PO + Soulfire or Leeroy + Faceless + Soulfire is still a viable finisher.
Replace Leeroy with Arcane Golem for a 16 damage burst kill. Throw down Alexstrasza on turn 8-9 and next turn that'll be good if you got a clear shot.
if you have The Coin till t8 you can wait to do the combo at t10-it happens a lot with my playstyle-

handlock is coming back with a vengeance! that's the thing that will happen.
Handlock has been more prevalent even before the changes, and now it will see much more usage.
Curious to see how that impacts the meta and if there are decks that can stand up to it.
