I like this. I will build this and run it. I think you are right about Mana Tide Totem - it often only results in one card and then is destroyed. Nonetheless, it does absorb attacks and removals that would otherwise be used on your other minions. It has always been a "soft taunt" in that regard.

yes it is, but kills tempo. as a CA card its always good, but as a tempo card its weaker than the gnomish :P
good looking deck but not a fan of the gnomish inventor as they take up your entire turn 4 (or turn 5 if you're overloaded) and there are already 2x Azure Drake. have you considered or tried 2x Loot Hoarder instead?
I don't think running 2 Loot Hoarder is a good idea (at least in such a deck) : they are just too useless in the lategame, since the card draw is delayed by a turn.
But that's not the main selling point of Gnomish Inventor (!), the most interesting part is their survivability : it cost a lot resources for your opponent to get rid of them, which is very good when you add cards like Unbound Elemental and Feral Spirit into the equation... Also, if your opponent ignores it, then you have a nice body ready to receive buffs from Defender of Argus or Flametongue Totem.
So, yeah, it's definetely a very good card for Shamans.
Thanks for responding Rhyolth, Malanon this is indeed the answer.
Ah.. OK now I get the survivability and late game usefulness of the Gnomish, plus the synergy with other cards in the deck. Thanks for the explanation!
Oh yeah, dont forget to subscribe to my new youtube channel, I deleted the old one because the channel name was too big and youtube wouldnt let me change it.
Nuba, do you really see a ton of value with the Argent Squires? In my Shaman deck I roll two axes and an ooze in replace of the Doom Hammer and Argent Squires. I just never feel the need to have a one drop and the axes really increase win rate against agro. I will check out your channel. Thanks for the deck.

yap. Played with and without and I really missed them when I played without them. every single time.
As good as a shaman deck can get, probably the best odds of winning of all shamans. if you STILL face a lot of Zoos, go ahead and swap Doomhammer for Stormforged Axe but keep in mind it will lower your odds against miracle by A LOT. (I dont sugest it, but it makes Zoo matchup easier)
I belive that swapping a gnomish inventor+al'akir for a leeroy+windfury is viable.
once you get all you need for finisher, you see taunts. then you probably want to kill yourself. One time I got leeroy + rock and was waiting for windfury. Then finally I got it but opponents got two taunts up.... Waiting can kill you. In the end, almost no OTK deck on the top ranks.. You got too many reserved cards
Hey guys, sorry for the delay in posting this guide, I did not realise it was out on the website that published it! LOL

Really like your decklist and will try it out! Shaman is a class I love to play but struggle to get good results with in ranked.
I'm curious on a couple of choices and wondered about your thinking behind them:
- Gnomish Inventor - given you're playing tempo, why do you prefer this to the extra stats on (eg) Chillwind Yeti ?
- Al'Akir - why this guy over any other top tier legendary (e.g. Cairne/Rag/Sylvanus/Leeroy) ?
Ditching mana tide and using only one argus seems good. I've often had those as bricks in hand with shaman if you get slightly behind.
because the draw is still needed. as I said before on the article.
because of the sinergy it has with all shaman cards, making it the best option as a legendary finisher by far.

I love shaman the most so I'd feel a little guilty to say shaman. But I gotta say both are just too good. Just go for the one you like the best!
