I've been playing a rogue deck very similar to the one found in the first matchup of king of the hill 4 between nhyxxx and savjz (two of the best european players) and been having a lot of success with it (here is the video for that if you are interested: http://ihearthu.com/king-of-the-hill-4-nyhx-vs-savjz/). I find it funny that people think rogue is the worst class right now, because a good draw with this deck is pretty much gg. These decks are a lot of fun to play because they have such great tempo, and you always feel like youre one step ahead of the opponent. If the opposing player doesnt have a turn 2 or turn 3 play, then you are already extremely far ahead as this deck just gets out of hand way too quickly with the amount of card draw and buffing potential it has. The removal spells have been reduced to a minimum- they are the only ones in rogue class that have good value. One thing I try to focus on before turn 5 is buffing my minions so that they have more than 2 health so that you can still have board presence if the opponent plays holy nova, starfall, or blizzard granted you are facing a priest, druid, or a mage. If facing a paladin, you have to be careful to not overextend your side of the board before turn 4 due to consecrate. Also important to not overextend against mage if you think a flamestrike is coming. Anyways, here it is:
Some possible sideboard changes that I've found useful are playing hogger instead of sylvanas when facing Hunter UTH decks just to give some additional pre-7 protection . Some other possibilities are playing 1 more azure drake, dark iron dwaf, or running spellbreaker. I really like spellbreaker versus druid because you can bypass big late game taunts and go for the kill.
Anyways- would appreciate any feedback, results from people if they get a chance to play it.
I need to craft Sylvanas to run this deck but I think I'm going to anyways so I'll give it a try. I guess I could just leave a black knight in there instead in her place since it's a pretty useful and versatile card.
Would you recommend subbing 1 argent commander for Leeroy?
My first experience was really bad I had literally no way to get rid of 2 stealthed blood imps on the board lol
lol i actualyl came back and won this game thanks to Sylvanas taking control of alextrasza he played on turn 9 but I feel like there maybe needs to be 1 aoe removal - idk? Since it's running 2 deadly poisons is it so bad to throw in a blade flurry or 2? If you have thalnos or azure drake on the board you're looking at being able to attack for 3 damage then blade flurrying for 4 aoe.
Well, double blood imps is one of the strongest openers in the game, so sorry about that... :( but imo putting any more spells in decreases the likelihood that you will be best able to play the deck it was meant to be played. I think that this deck has counters early game, but generally speaking you are probably going to draw better given that it has a heavy 2-3-4 curve and gain board advantage for yourself. Also, you wouldnt even be able to clear those blood imps with blade flurry till level 5 because you wouldn't be able to play thalnos safely.
My thoughts on Leeroy- he's a really good finisher, but I never like the idea of giving the opponent minions that they can potentially buff to kill mine. I wouldn't substitute for commander just because of the fact that pretty much every deck should have 2 and he trades so well. But you could try playing him instead of sylvanas and see if he works in those scenarios when you are going for their throat. I just like sylvanas because shes inherently strong by being a 5/5 for 5 and she also forces people into awkward situations and makes them burn a lot of cards to get rid of her. If you have board advantage and drop her on turn 5- your position greatly improves.
