Face Hunter worked pretty good for me against Odd-Pala so far. The Pala is most of the time too slow to outrace me and when I draw Unleash it gets a ton of value against the board full of little dudes.
Play Pala for yourself, look what decks are have problems against and play one of this decks for your own, if you hate Pala so much.
If they built/played right they should have witch's cauldron which basically undermines most of the control of little ones plus if you have trades to make the turn you play it you get a ton of value. Halfway considering throwing a murloc or two into mine for the odd times I get ice fishing.
One of the harder decks to beat is cubelock unless you get super lucky and cauldron gives you 1-2 hexes which hex seems to be the least frequent card I've gotten(most would be spirit echo which is a mixed blessing if cauldron is all that is left but crap if you have a board of recruits).
The problem right now is that all of the strong decks are pretty toxic as in braindead decks. I thought the Kobolds meta was bad, but right now the majority are just utterly brainless. Odd hunter, cubelock, odd quest warrior, etc do not really even adjust their play to the deck their facing and can still pretty much win with consistency which should never be the case.
Cubelock should be nerfed (it's even stronger than Paladin) and Paladin should have a slight nerf (it's not that over the top, but still a bit too strong) and then the meta would be great imo.
Yeah ok meanwhile a card that is definitely overpowered has remained untouched: Spiteful summoner. 6 mana 4/4 for even a 5 drop as the battlecry is strong, but the ability to get consistent 8 and 10 and now that the terrible 10 drops are pretty much gone(old gods), it's a little too ridiculous.
Hunter can rush down Pala faster than Pala can and Unleash the doggies is absolute brutal against all the small stuff from Pala. After I teched in 2 Unleashes and 2 Trackings (so I can find my doggies more often, when I need them) my winrate against Palas went up to about 80%. Every time I face Pala with my Hunter I am very happy - especially when it's Odd-Pala. ^^
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
You cannot win all match ups anyway. I think complaining because a specific deck do not win a specific match-up is a little dumb. Yes, paladin is strong right now, probably the best class, but there is always one, in every meta, it's just how it works. They will nerf it, and another class will become the strongest and the problem. I agree whit the one that says that the problem is your big spell mage. You can't expect to shape the meta at your own will, to play what you want and win all the time. If your deck doesn't work right now change it, or deal whit the consequence and lose your bad match-ups...
Baku Paladin does not need a nerf. It can easily loose to mage, warlock, warrior, and rogue. If you didnt bring any mass removal or a fair amount of taunts you are going to have a tough time but its hardly broken.
Both Paladin and Warlocks need a nerf. The tools they have are stupid right now. Every class lost most of their OPness if not all. The thing is Blizzard focused too much on making Paladin aggro and Warlock control that they completely counter their flaws now. Warlock has too much healing and stupid taunts as well as a way to resummon them. Paladin has too much board presence, killed 5 minions? No problem, here have 5 more to deal with, you deal them? Ok, here, 5 more. And guess what, both classes are based around recruit. Yes, you have Odd Paladin who doesn't recruit but they generate so many tokens it can be regarded as recruit.
Paladin's Unidentified Maul turns their board from deal able to hahahaha you're so screwed. Aggro decks should exist, but not to the point of Undertaker Hunter, Pirate Warrior (or any Pirate deck once Patches got popular, and surprise surprise, the mechanic was RECRUIT!) and now Odd Paladin. Aggro should be manageable. With the lack of board clears across the game in Standard, minion based decks are bound to become popular, but it should be about intelligent trading, not "hurpdurp face ma army of 1/1s, some of them have divine shield and some have divine shield AND taunt".
Even Paladin is difficult too, but it can be handled if you clear their board, which is much easier then Odd Paladin. It's a midrange deck, so control obviously find it difficult to deal with.
Warlock's 6 mana combo is gain 8 HP summon a "5/7 charge minion" or "3/9 deahtrattle summon 3 1/3s". It's just stupid. Even if you silenceVoidlord and try to deal face damage to bring them down, they just play Cube and oh guess what, two more Voidlord. Next turn, spellstone. I cannot imagine people call Cubelock a skill based deck. Where is the skill? Its just as braindead as any aggro deck. The deck has literally no unique plays whatsoever. Every game is a repeat of the previous one. Giving dejavu a bad name.
Current decks are finding it hard to add new cards since the power level of old cards is beyond the roof. MSoG should have been a prime example of overpowered cards, but Blizzard never learns.
I have commented on their design philosophy many times. Their give 3-4 cards in an expansion to a class for a specific playstyle, along with some neutral cards. This spawns a deck. Then they add a couple more cards in the next set, making the deck stronger. Which is fine. The problem is they do this with ONLY a few classes. Paladins, Warlocks and Priests get this type of treatment. Rest of the classes get 2 cards max to design a archetype around them. Nothing next few expansions. Hunter, Warrior and Shaman are prime examples of them. Look at the kit of Hunters, Warriors and Shaman and tell me this is not true.
Blizzards has favorites. Nothing wrong with that. Sure some people enjoy designing one class more then others. Like I enjoy Hunter and Warrior more then other classes, sometimes Shaman and Priest. But this means you need to have a fair number of people who enjoy designing a class. Right now their team has a very very heavy bias towards some classes. They completely banned Spell Hunter after just one expansion. Deadman Hands Warrior? On the other hand, Priest got so much favor they were able to do ANYTHING before the rotation. Warlock has been extremely powerful for years and has now reached unmanageable levels, same with Paladin.
A meta should have at least 4-6 tier 1 decks. That is a healthy meta. When was the last time this happened? They just don't care. Sometimes players whining is unjustified, but stats do not lie. Decks having more then 60% winrate should be nerfed immediately. That's more then what Undertaker Hunter had and the class is still suffering from what happened more then 4 years ago. Other classes do it? No problem, players aren't skilled enough to find an answer.
Stupid design philosophy has been part of Hearthstone for a long long time. Its about time it should end.
I think the main problem I have seen so far is that while paladin and warlock are strong, all the other classes feel weaker because the power level in the expansion got toned down, and paladin and warlock did not lose much from the rotation. So the best performing classes are the same two strongest classes from the previous meta.
So basically this meta is like the last meta, except paladin and warlock got a few new toys to play with while the other classes got weaker.
Baku doesn't need nerf but nerf the shit out of genn paladin because it cannot be stopped with control decks
Lmao, probably another salty warlock or priest player.
Not even close I play literally every deck I am not salty it is just the truth decks is filled with power creeps like tarim call to arms etc.
Well you sound like one.
I don't want cards to be nerfed, people complain about Paladin & Warlock,i say git good.
I guess you are the guy who is okay with cheating in games you enjoy cheating but other people are frustrated and doesn't enjoy the game.
Good players have faith in their skills & their deck.
Bad players make excuses.
You are pretending to be objective but you are not. Right now according to VS and HSreplay Even and Odd paladin both have winrates above 57% at ALL levels of play. Just to give an indication according to VS a deck is tier 1 if it has over 52% winrate. Jade Druid when everyone was playing it in KFT had 55% winrate. Razakus priest, hated as the most oppressive and meta defining combo deck had 53% winrate in legend at the time when it was dominant.
When you look at ONLY LEGEND games statistics the ONLY TIER 1 DECKS are Murloc Paladin with 58% winrate and Even Paladin with 56% winrate and the NEXT best deck is Spiteful Druid with only 53.7% !
We have overwhelming statistical evidence that :
1) Even and Odd paladin have a low skillcap because their winrate decreases the higher up the ladder you go
2) Murloc and Even Paladin decks have too high of a powerlevel compared to the other decks on the meta game because NO ONE IN LEGEND can BEAT THIS ABSURD WINRATE WITH ANY OTHER CLASS and yet here you are, declaring that people that point out this fact are losers.
Please buff control paladin because right now I only see aggro paladins viable. Without Nzoth or Beardo there is no win condition vs other control decks and I don't like playing aggrodin.
the problem with odd paladin isn''t easy to see though, what can you nerf about it?? every car din the deck is ina fair power level, it becomes ridicolous with the sinergy, the only real thing to do is to not give the coin to baku decks even if they went second, but that's an unimplicit unexplained rule that would just confuse people
I've been playing a Shaman tempo elemental deck around rank 12.
Ran into 6 Baku Paladins in a row, beat 5.
73% against Hunter? HOW?! :D
Hunter can rush down Pala faster than Pala can and Unleash the doggies is absolute brutal against all the small stuff from Pala. NEEEERF EEEVEEEEERYTHIIING! Do not stop untill all cards are 10 mana 0/1 that fully heal your opponent!

Odd paladin and even paladin are fine if you play taunts or odd hunter/rogue
Skidaddle skidoodle your Milhouse manastorm is now a noodle
