Let me start by saying that I think Reno Jackson is a well designed card. I didn't think much of it when it was released and a few people played Reno decks, but with the advent of Pirate Warrior and additional 'no duplicates'-cards the there's a lot of Reno decks on the ladder right now.
I personally experienced some kind of 'aggro or Reno' meta since the expansion launched. 90% of control decks I play against seem to be Reno decks. And to be honest I hate playing against Reno and I hate playing Reno myself. It's taking a lot of the fun out of the game for me right now.
Playing Reno in this meta mostly comes down to a single if-statement: Did I draw Reno by turn 6? If yes -> I win. If no -> I probably lose. This is why I don't like playing him. It's worse than a coin toss.
You can win without him, but mostly if you play Reno against most decks right now you will have won, simple as that. And that's why I absolutely hate playing against him. The game before Reno doesn't really matter, he basically resets everything. Except that the one playing against him will be out of steam by now. So you win. Because you played one single card after randomly playing some removal spells. Which just sucks.
I would concede instantly with many decks if I could see that my opponent has Reno in his hand. It's a waste of time playing against Reno. This is my main gripe. It just wastes time.
You're trying to follow your game plan, making good plays, maybe just being the better player in general and suddenly - Reno. And it's over. But you had to put all your cards on the field because you need to try and win before Reno comes down.
I just can't see how this can be fun for anybody. It makes so much of the game irrelevant that I just don't feel like playing if I know my opponent has Reno in his deck. Doesn't matter what I do anyway.
I'm curious how other people perceive this. Even if you don't see a lot of Reno decks - do you enjoy playing Reno? Do you enjoy playing against Reno?
I love both. Reno decks are control and as such are my favorite, and playing against them lets me know the match will be long, and i can take my time to plan my plays and think about a long term strategy, not worrying i'll be dead by turn 6 if i dont draw Reno.
I think Reno is up there as one of the best designed cards in the game.
I enjoy playing with him, but it's also becoming a little bit more predictable when playing against certain decks that they are playing the Reno version, and in that case, you need to play around that. I think the Devs created the new "reno" style cards and the jade golem idea to rival each other, doesn't matter if your opponent can essentially have 60 health in a game if you are able to spawn 7/7,8/8,9/9 golems.
and if you really dislike playing against him, you don't have too long until he rotates
I feel exactly the same way you do. Reno was tolerable when it was a gimmick deck that only a handful of people played, but at this point I can't wait for him to rotate out.
I really like Reno because of one reason, it extends the game beyond turn 6.
It furthermore leads to a variety of cards in my hand and i can start thinking about different ways to play.
Aggro-decks are pretty straight forward... there is not much thinking about what to play next, other than calculating the damage you can make in certain rounds and following rounds. It's all about pressure from the start, rather than controlling the board.
Reno decks assume to control the board and because of the mechanic you can use every card only once - this leads to the point where you have to think about all the different possibilities.
I have more fun playing hearthstone, when I can think about many different strategies than just piloting a (more or less brain dead) aggro deck.
I think it's a cool card, I generally prefer playing without it. Reno-mage is so clunky while control mage is so damn elegant (though not too good in this meta, sadly) - for example.
People who BM with it are the worst part of it, but that's not down to the card. We get it, you think aggro is cancer and you want to flaunt your superiority. Well, aggro keeps the ladder cleaner than Reno - I'll tell you that.
All this said I think it's worrying how dependent the meta has become on Reno as a heal. I think there should be more tools in the game to survive into the long game.
I don't really consider Buffadin "aggro". More like aggressive midrange to me. Maybe aggro, I dunno. Same as Zoo, I've never liked calling it aggro. I was talking mostly about Aggro Shaman, Pirate Warrior, Face Hunter, and other super SMOrcy decks.

that's false. i've won without drawing him by/before turn 6.
Honestly, (not to sound like a hipster) I enjoyed playing Reno more when it was less predominant. Before MSoG, I was rocking Reno/Tempo Mage. People assumed I was just a regular Tempo mage and would over-commit to the board, then I would heal up, clear the board, and start dropping late game threats. It didn't always work, but at least it was a good time.
Now, any of the 3 Kabal classes are just assumed to be Reno, so it takes some of the surprise factor out of it. But, on the other hand, Kazakus is fun as hell, and since Reno decks are so variable, it's hard to predict exactly what any two Reno decks have in their decklist.
So, yeah... I enjoy Reno decks, even if they are kinda flooding the ladder right now. No two games are exactly alike, and in that sense, it keeps the game interesting.
Also, "if you have Reno by turn 6, you win" is sooooo incorrect. I've had Reno in an opener, and with the coin have died by turn 4-5 against pirate warrior consistently. Not every time, but often. Even getting him isn't an auto win, unless you're against a deck that just dumps your hand and goes face as fast as possible, and get him off in time.
Most of the time, playing with (and against) Reno causes more decisions and thinking. And the more complex this (sometimes simple) game gets, the more fun it gets. At least for me.

I love this card! I also play it in fun games with Dane's Reno Shadowcaster Rogue deck. In some cases, an endless supply of 1/1 Renos won me the game.

Wasted a lot of reno decks, if you have board control and you're ahead, 30 health means nothing. Renolock can be quite a challenge though.

It's a balanced card. Just play around him. Unless you're Aggro. Then you're screwed lul.

Reno is great and I hope he is moved to classic.

People that don't like Reno are obviously unable to play anything but braindead facedecks.
