I've had huge success with this deck, winning the vast majority of games. I only seem to lose if they can burst me down before T6, or if I utilize my card draws badly. I haven't seen anyone using Necrotic Geist as effectively as this, so thought I'd share. (Tokens summoned by it will also get charge, allowing you to clear the entire enemy's board.)
The only thing that prevents Necrotic Geist from working is taunt minions with <2 attack. Wisp works with 1 attack enemies, and we also have devolve and a few of our own minions to bypass low attack taunts. Wisp, Fire Fly, and Thing from Below are your primary combo starters.
Mulligan for draw. Keep Fire Fly.
The Gameplan: Save Necrotic Geist activators like wisp and don't use Evolve except to prevent death. Just use defensive and card-draws like Devolve, Ancient Watcher, and Mana Tide Totem.
Around turn 6 reclaim the board with Necrotic Geist. Then once we have enough on the board or strong charge minions, burst them down, evolve, burst again, evolve again, and keep SMORCing. You'll now get a nice "Wow..." from your opponent. If they aren't quite dead, that's okay, just let out a "That's Incredible!" of your own.
Card substitutions:
Devolve -> Maelstrom Portal, Mad Bomber
Ancient Watcher -> Humongous Razorleaf, Stubborn Gastropod
Acolyte of Pain -> Loot Hoarder, Humongous Razorleaf, Maelstrom Portal
Fire Fly, Necrotic Geist, Evolve -> No replacements
If missing Mana Tide Totem and Primalfin Totem, replace Thing from Below as well. If missing Thing from Below, replace Primalfin Totem. Look at some of the above card substitutions as ideas.
Other cards worth considering:
Bloodlust: It's a win-slightly-faster card after we've already secured the win. That said, I think Primalfin Totem is the weakest card right now, so it's worth trying. But Evolve is essentially a cheaper Bloodlust, and is a dead card most of the time.
Flametongue Totem: We're never really in control of the board until the end, so it's not that helpful.
Kobold Hermit: A weaker Primalfin Totem, but works nicely with Thing from Below.
This was a really good deck for me. Nice work.
Thanks, disappointed the brawl ended, really enjoyed it.
Ended up making some changes that made the deck work slightly better, although you need to be more aware of what your opponent is playing.
Utilizing cards like Humongous Razorleaf and Skelemaster, they block your opponent from acting most of the time. Stubborn Gastropod can be annoying, but they have 3 and we have 9 large taunts.
But you need to start putting these cards to the left without taunt as you gain the upper hand, such that they will gain charge from your evolves. Against miracle rogue you need to have taunts to prevent ridiculous Van Cleef combos, and against infinite taunt 1/1 rogue you need to setup a bunch on the left and burst them down during devolve turns.
