Twilight's Call makes for the hilarious ability to summon a crazy amount of Obsidian Statues. Lesser Diamond Spellstone also almost acts as a 2nd N'Zoth.
Hard mulligan for Barnes unless facing Hunter or Paladin. In which case you want to keep/ mulligan for Potion of Madness and Shadow Word: Pain. Try to play board clears a turn later if you're not going to be taking much damage from board state.
Deck is pretty high roll and it's frustrating when Barnes pulls N'Zoth, but it makes it so worth it for when the deck actually works because holy fuck does having to deal with 8 Statues in a game ever annoy the opponent. Let me know if you have any suggestions/ replacements, thanks for looking (screenshots coming).
This is a really fun deck. I'm wondering if there's a more useful card than Potion of Madness? I find it difficult to find a good time to use it, as normally it's ideal for trading, but here using it to trade usually ends up giving you another minion in your graveyard to get resurrected which has messed up the deck's system for me a couple of times. Psionic Probe maybe?
And as another commenter mentioned, the Diamond Spellstone won't summon multiple Obsidian Statues. It's still better than Resurrect, I think, since you know you'll at least get another Statue from it, whereas you take your chances with Resurrect.
Two things I want to make a generic statement of ...
1) I don't think the deck can support more than one Diamond Spellstone. I was able to fully activate 1 of the spellstones, but most of the time never drew the 2nd. Including a 2nd can improve consistency within finding it of course, but even then after using it a few times I'm not sure it's as good as we all first though.
2) The spellstone is a bit deceiving in it's wording but it does NOT resurrect say 2,3, or 4 Obsidian Statues. It's text reads: DIFFERENT minions. I played the card and it will only revive one of each type of deathrattle minion that died this game. (i.e. if the only death rattle minion you run as big priest is Obsidian Statue, then you'll only get 1 minion back, no matter the spellstone level).
My assessment is that spellstone CAN work for big priest if some slight adjustments are made and you run big deathrattles. But using it as such in the current decklist only makes it act as a very expensive Resurrect for 7 mana.
(Copied from my other post in a similar deck)
Now, I don't want to call you out but your statement of this: "lesser diamond spellstone almost acts as a 2nd nzoth"
Now, I don't know how much testing you've done with the deck, if any; but diamond spellstones' wording had a lot of people deceived. It says DIFFERENT, and after testing this out I can personally verify that even though I had 4 statues die in a single game, it only revived 1 of them, no matter the level of the spellstone.
As I mentioned above, this is a spell card meant for quest priest. It may work in big priest if adjustments to running OTHER deathrattles is included, but it's far too expensive to utilize as a single deathrattle revive IMO. Maybe it's moderately ok to use 7 mana to revive a single 9 mana minion, but the tempo loss is too much IMO.
Doing well so far. Around 70% WR.
I'm not sure Barnes is the best all-around card to mulligan for. I've played 25 games and not once have I managed to get him in my starting hand.
I do find it necessary to add some silence into the deck. I traded the two Holy Smite for one each Silence and Mass Dispel.
funny deck thx!
