I was stuck at rank 11 for a while this month, than I decided to give the good old hunter a try and it went surpisingly good. In two days I climbed the ladder relatively easy and got rank 5. The deck went on a winning streak from rank 9 to 5 so I decided to share it with you, in case you are struggling to rank fast enough.
Unfortunately I got no tracker cause I mainly play on mobile, but I can assure you that i wrecked all kind of decks on my way to rank 5, if you want proof I can post a screenshot of my current rank or you can add me. Last encounters were almost all druids and some priests. Best matchups were mages and pirate warriors, 100% winrate against those two.
Mulligans
Be careful, cause sometimes you can overload your hand with 3-cost cards, always dig for your low cost minions
General:
Alleycat not more than one
Two-drops, especially [card]Scavenging Hyena[/card] if you have turn 1 Alleycat
On coin, a two drop followed by [card]Crackling Razormaw[/card] is a really good start
Specific:
[card]Golakka Crawler[/card] keep even two of those against Warrior, one against Druid and Shaman
[card]Deadly Shot[/card] against Druid (early Hydra for aggro, Doomsayer in some Jade lists), against Mage (Doomsayer)
[card]Eaglehorn Bow[/card]only if you already have 1-2 drops
Strategies
Get board control as soon as possible, try to play around boardclears a little. When you got decent board start pumping face damage. [card]Stitched Tracker[/card] and [card]Tracking [/card] are great late game cards, they are a bit clunky in the early stages of the game, so time those cards well. Scavenging Hyena+ Hounds combo is always good so try to make that work. If you have Bonemare in hand try to leave a sticky board on turn 6, or you could keep an alleycat and play the 2 cards on turn 8.
Against Druid try to not play too many small minions or they will punish you with Spreading Plague. Always think of the worst, play around turn 8 UI by making efficent trades with 5 health minions. An unanswered [card]Scavenging Hyena[/card] or [card]Tundra Rhino[/card] can win you games.
Against Priest play around Potion of Madness (the reason why I don't play Kindly Grandmother) and Dragonfire Potion (leave some sticky deathrattles on board). [card]Houndmaster[/card] on a 2-attack minion hurts them enough.
Against Mage, I only faced quest mages, always keep an answer to doomsayer in hand. Leave some space in you board to summon charge beasts (Huffer or Unleash the hounds). You want to go face as soon as possible, leave them at 1-2 health and then pop all those iceblocks with your heropower.
Against Warrior [card]Golakka Crawler[/card] is a must have. If you have 2 of them in hand, or if you already have good first and second turn options, try to save one golakka for high priority pirates (Southsea Captain, Naga Corsair or buffed pirates).
Good luck climbing bros!
P. P. S. English is not my native language so I don't speak it very well, I'm sorry about that

62% 18 wins-11 losses currently at rank 9 this deck just brought me here from rank 14. i mostly lose to paladins and just a few mages also i made a pirate warrior also before this and it was a waste of good dust for me as well:/
And since the Fiery War Axe is about to get nerfed, that deck will be practically useless in 3 days.
But 62% is a high win rate, thanks for the answer. May I ask, which deck did you use from 25-14?
Big priest and exodia mage
Thanks a lot.
