DECK DESCRIPTION

Now that The Caverns Below has been nerfed from four to five minions a different approach is needed. Instead of relying on a huge swing turn with Preparation and charge minions we will slow the game down with taunts and try to abuse Vilespine Slayer in the mid-game. The name of the deck comes from the card Onyxia who will summon a full board of 5/5 dragons once the quest is complete. Here in Wild we get access to some powerful battlecry tools Antique Healbot and Dark Iron Skulker.

DECK GOALS

There are three main targets for the quest. The first two are the same from the old decks Firefly and Swashburglar. The third plan is bouncing Vilespine Slayer which will take longer but gives you plenty of time assassinating the biggest threat each turn. Including the The Curator makes it very likely you have access to the powerful Onyxia play when the quest is completed.

THE MULLIGAN

There is no rush. Your optimal start is most likely turn 1 The Caverns Below into hero power turn-2 into Tar Creeper while having a Dark Iron Skulker at the ready. You generally always want to keep a pirate to help control the board early. Vilespine Slayer is a good keep with The Coin.

TECH CHOICES

One copy of Golakka Crawler is included as a possible The Curator target. This also gives you an extra turn two play or tempo play vs Pirate Warrior.

THINGS TO NOTE

Try not to commit too early to bouncing Firefly as a plan for the quest. The elementals will come naturally through copying a Igneous Elemental. The extra spells from Swashburglar can be super valuable and you want to stay open for the Vilespine Slayer plan against Mid-range decks.
