With Journey to Ungoro comming out and the year of the Mammoth rolling in Malygos rogue suffered heavy losses with Emperor Thaurissan and Azure Drake going out of standard. Nevertheless I would consider the deck still quite viable, atleast in the early stages of the new expansion's cycle. The goal of the deck is to deal with early pressure and then to kill the opponent in one turn with Evolved Kobold or Malygos.
UPDATE 09/04/2017: Been tweaking around with the deck and this version curves out better.
+2 Swashburglars
-1 Shyv
-1 Loot Hoarder
Razorpetals play a core role in the deck because of their versatility. Being one of our main damage resources for Malygos it also allows us to keep our card draw engine up with Gadgetzan Auctioneer and to trigger combo cards like SI:7 Agent.
Mulligan: Depends on what class your opponent is playing. Cards you are looking for: Backstab, Swashburglar, Razorpetal Lasher, Loot Hoarder. Keep SI:7 Agent [/card] if you have backstab or Razorpetal lasher already on your hand. If you're playing agaisn't an aggresive class like Shaman or Hunter, it is ok to keep [card] Fan of Knives on your opening hand.
Guide: This deck relies alot on decision making. I.e whether or not you should save your cards like Eviscerate for Malygos. The golden rule is that it is ok to use as removal as long as you're using it to keep your tempo and minions alive. Try to save your cheap spells like backstab and your coins for heavy cycle turns with Gadgetzan auctioneer around turn 6-7. You don't have to fit your damage all in one turn. It is very common for this deck to win with two turn lethals (this is what evolved kobolds are for, to fit in that extra damage on multiple turns).
Guys please... This is not meant to be a viable, serious deck. This is a meme deck for pure fun.
Have you tried to run The Curator in this deck?
I dun not have Bloodmage Thalnos. Is Kobold Geomancer or Loot Hoarder a better replacement? What other cards it replace with?
I'm added a bunch of spell power minions (kobolds, ogre magi) etc and aim finding that my opponent boards stay empty because my removal is so insane. Malygos is slow, but he's a finisher.
Winning more games than I thought with this type of deck. (I made my own and then searched for one similar and found this thread.)
mind posting? I would like to try it.
Posts deck as 72% winrate... Played like 6 games starting at rank 15 lol. WTF, this is such bulls*t clickbait. 10/10
This deck is very fun. Been playing a deck like this with Edwin included. Wanted to share that I think shadowstep x2 is a really good add in here in place of maybe shiv and a sap. It has tons of cycle+combo value, especially while Barnes is on the board, for either another shot at pulling out Malygos or retrieving the minion Barnes pulls. Also useful with the lasher to get a free extra razor petal.
I also find Auctioneer is really slow. Unless you have spells in your hand when you play it, it’s hard to get value out of playing it twice, especially when by the time I’ve played both of them and successfully cycled I’m ready to fatigue while my opponent still has 5+ cards in deck at least. By that time, malygos is usually a last ditch win condition and if it gets played straight into removal, it’s a solid lose. So perhaps only one Gadgetzan Auctioneer is necessary and can be replaced with a stronger tech card like a Vilespine Slayer.
72.72% is certainly the looserate instead of winrate. Malygos is too slow. Trying to make him pop with Barn would be an idea if you don't have ~50% to get an old regular 1/1. In fact you don't need Malygos as the kobold look to be enough to do the job (but why not...) !
You could also replace the swashburglar with hallucination as you don't play patches. So you don't feed the golakka crawler, you remove some bad pop with barn, you have an extra spell for the auctionneer and you get more chance to get an useful card with discovery !
deck is garbage, malygos is waaaaaay to slow. tbh even gadgetzan auctioner is too slow at the moment, and even if you get it it's just cycling garbage cards whilst your opponent reached their win condition 1 or 2 turns ago.
Been using this deck on wild. Replaced 1 loothoarder and 1 evolved kobold with Emperor Thaurissan and Vancleef, been having a BLAST. GOOD DECK!
Бесполезная колода. Пара побед при хорошем заходе вот и всё на что можно расчитывать.
You're right sir having Edwin Vancleef is very good agaisnt agressive and tempo decks. I hadn't experimented with him yet but seems pretty strong. You could also run him instead of barnes if you wanted to Thank you for your feedback :)
Why not Sinister Strike ?
with minion heavy meta, sinister might just get struck in the hand maybe? the petals can be use to clear too
Any chance to we could can get a video to see the gameplay?
That's a miracle that you've found that successful
This deck really misses first drops, which is actually unacceptable nowadays. Whether you are playing against aggro or control, you kinda have to get your early game (especially with Patches the Pirate). I'll give this deck a try and will notice later if it is actually better to play with patches and 1st drops or not.
Interesting thought. Being able to keep your minions alive and tempo is incredibly important for this deck. Patches the pirate could be very useful to mantain constant pressure. I'll give it a try. You could swap SI:7's and the loothoarders for the pirate package,
