Update : update 21 july : Managed to get legend with the original list on Asia, currently pushing top 100, took me around 12 hours from rank 9 to legend with this deck so its still very strong will change the cards to the original list as i still think the original is the best. .
Introduction
Been playing with this for 2 weeks on ladder now. Got the idea after testing a midrange hunter deck last season that i went 20-1 from rank 7 to 3 that included the tiger. I saw that the tiger always was a two for one against classes like druid, rouge, shama. Did rlly well when i first started playing with it climbed from rank 16 to rank 5 in one day the first day of season 3. Have played this at top 100 legend EU almost got top 30 a couple of days ago but lost 5 game in a row at rank 40 and gave up . played this + 2 other decks in the last zotac cup were i finished top 8. This deck aced two of the matches alone. Im currently testing different decks on ladder at rank 1500 or so but i will livestream my climb to legend with this deck next season.
The idea of the deck
i dont know if the idea of strangelthorn + Combo is old or not but i have never seen it before myself. The idea is that you play the the tiger turn 8 with combo in hand and kill him turn 9. Because the tiger has stealth it almost always trades 2 for 1 so its a good minion regardless of its synergy with the druid combo. You play it they have no way of dealing with it because of stealth you deal 5 damage to hes face or clear of a minon. They either have to use value spells like hex to kill it or use there whole turn killing if you have played the game right. Adding the tiger makes it easier to get your opponent killed even if hes at 21+ health.
Meta Slots
Cards like black knight, bgh etc can be added if theres need for them this is just the basic setup. Cards like loot hoarder, argent commander can be changed depending on what you met on ladder. -Argent + cairne. -Golem + farseer for example.
Win Rate
I dont know the exact win rate of this deck but i know that i won most games against: Druid, shamans, miracle+backspace rouge. Zoo depends on the draw like always but mostly have been winning every game on days they dont draw double doomguard in there top 20 cards while days were zoo had insane draw i lost almost everygame.
I lost most games against: Ramp druid, handlock, some warrior decks. I didnt met enough of the bad matchups on ladder for it to be worth changing my deck to counter them, the only decks i played a lot against were Miracle and combo druid, some zoo early on in the season.
Gameplay
http://www.twitch.tv/vbsof i will try to live stream playing this deck on ladder but i will be gone a lot this season but if you want gameplay to figure out how to play it check the past broadcast videos. I might be talking in some of my stream an analysing but for the most part i talk to people irl or on skype while playing hearthstone.
If you have any ideas for improvements to the deck or questions post them below.
Savage Roar+ Force of nature.
that's only 12 damage for a turn 8 combo? am I still missing something here?
14 for 9 turn combo. If you have the Stranglethorn Tiger just sitting there that's an extra 7 DMG
Testing new builds of this deck on ladder atm dont feel like this build is optimal in th current meta i will update the list when i figure out how i want it built
Consider dropping Cenarius for Ragnaros the Firelord. Rag is much more effective in this meta than the higher costing Cenarius is, and you'll already have more than enough Combo damage with Stranglethorn Tiger to hit lethal without Cenarius and his 2 Treants. I think a combination of your deck with this one

would be a force to be reckoned with on ladder.
Only problem i have with rage is hes a bgh target i hate running him because if i have bad rng and he dosent hit what i want him to my opponent can bgh + faceless him and i auto loss. Ive currently been trying no force of nature and two mark of the wilds on ladder and its works a lot better because im not metting the decks i met last season. Last season i met 50% miracle rouge while this season im metting a lot of late game control decks like ramp druid, priest, warrior etc The ramp druid matchup is so easy after i made these changes it used to be a auto loss and now its an auto win.
Really like the Tiger idea and will try those cards for sure.
A couple of other questions though...
Why Sunfury? I'm only seeing Harvest Golems that would make good candidates for his ability and it seems like Power of the Wild might be a better early and late drop. Might help a bit with the yetis for staying alive one more turn I guess but it means your yeti's don't beat their yetis.
What do you think about Ancient of War over Argent Commander? 5/10 beatstick seems more likely to survive for the combo turn. Do you feel you get value as targeted removal over forcing attacks into the Ancient of War? If you see a lot of Hexes or polymorphs, Commander probably has more value but I'm not seeing that. (You also get the occasionally useful 10/5 option which can really put some fear into handlocks and such.)
Regardless, I love the tiger idea and will definitely try it over the Ironbarks that I currently have taking up slots in my deck. Nice idea.
With the argent commander you can pull off pretty good burst damage without the force of nature. If you drop the commander and then savage roar you can get eight damage from an empty board or hopefully more with other minions. It's not ideal but sometimes you just need that last little bit to finish off an opponent.
but does not it make too obvious? on turn 8 tiger or turn 10 tigers,
"hey man I have my roar+force in hand and you die..."
I didnt really understand your question
Everyone knows the druid combo does 14 dmG+ the minons on board Everyone is gonna couny up potential damage from combo
Most Druids run the Combo anyway, so no surprises there. Besides, he'd still play a Stranglethorn Tiger even if he didn't have Combo in hand, so it doesn't tell your opponent anything. Sure they'd be scared, but they would already be playing around Combo before you dropped the Tiger.
What can I replace Cenarius and Bloodmage Thalnos with?
I havent piloted this deck specifically, but I've played a lot like it, and imo Bloodmage could go for either Kobold Geomancer if you are really into the spell pump, but more likely Loot Hoarder due to the fact that its an equal manacost for a similar body lacking the spellpump, but carddraw, as in most great games like this, is essential. For Cenarius try Ancient of War, if you find your meta to be too full of Handlock or Control decks, try out bgh or Faceless.
Cenarius for Sunfury protector or senjin or something else good. Bloodmage for a second azure drake, a second sunfury or a geomancer.
great deck, ranking up quite fast in the new season. Rank 9 atm and its going up fast, streaming it at www.twitch.tv/linkozz
Im gonna be testing twitch today prblly will only use it as a source for gameplays to my decks if anyone want gameplay to the deck i should have some gameplay in past broadcast folder or might be livestreaming soon http://www.twitch.tv/vbsof
Great idea. Not only does Stranglethorn Tiger trade well with Chillwind Yeti type cards, it's ability to turn 14 damage into 21 damage with Force of Nature + Savage Roar (and it's insured because of Stealth) makes this card a valuable asset in any Druid deck that runs the combo. Can't wait to give it a go.
I like the tech. I've given it a shot (for a couple hours last night and a few games this morning before work), but haven't yet gotten a read on how helpful it is. In most games I would've won anyway or I didn't draw the tiger. However, that being said, he was KEY versus a tempo rogue because they didn't have enough AoE and so he was able to play exactly the way he was supposed to to get me a big roar to finish them off. I'll keep testing to see if he is a permanent fixture in my build, but I appreciate you bringing it up for us.
You might be playing it wrong or not just draw it some games your not gonna draw a single tiger and there not gonna be a factor at all.
