Are you a fan of ramp druid? Having trouble balancing your deck? In this guide, you will learn what cards I use to build all of my ramp and ramp-like druid decks. Just follow these 3 steps to create your own ramp druid.
Icons Explanation
These cards are used in *almost* every ramp druid deck. You should have just the right balance of card draw, ramp speed and board stability with those. They are powerful cards that define the current archetype of ramp druid. Pick Earthen Scales x2 if you prefer a slow deck, or Feral Rage x2 if you prefer a fast deck.
On the next step, you will want to add a combination of cards that will be your win condition. Chose one combination only.
Absolute Control
Beasts
Deathrattle
Y'Shaarj Barnes
Your last step is to fill your deck with cards that will fit in the current meta or fill gaps in your mana curve. If you have to add or to remove cards to improve your deck in the future, do so with the cards that belong into the "recommended" category below.
About the Quest
Jungle Giants is a bit too slow for this archetype, and the game is usually over before you get to finish the quest. In a slower meta where things such as control priest are kings, this might be a more viable option. Maybe in the next expansion!
This deck took me a lot of time to make, don't forget to upvote or downvote!
Have fun on the ladder!
Thanks for this list! Is the best thing I need as I got all legends of druid for the year of mammoth. Quest Druid might be slow but it shouldn't be always the first thing that you should play.
Edit: I test the quest with the current decks. It doesn't work. It needs the essential cards, but also needs cards like Kun to be flexible for armor or to have 2 large minions on board and early minions that has five attack. Elder and shellshifter, kun and maybe the tiger or the adapt 5attack minion needs to be core cards in this case! Have you test it? Even Mukla can work.
I haven't tried the quest lately, but I'll give it a try as soon as the new cards come out for sure!
Your name is from Tin Tin? It was a character called Rastatopopulos, who was the bad guy from greece
I tried a Beast version of this with a Bittertide Hydra and Tyrantus as the fill in cards. Seems to work ok at least, and getting out a fast tyrantus then using warden on it is pretty sweet. I actually got 3 of him one game.
Awesome job!!! Wish there were more guides like that going around! Thank you very much!
Forgive me if this is a stupid question (because I'm new to druid), but how are the cards in the absolute control category a win condition?
There in no stupid question sir. The absolute control cards are more like a "I have bigger minions" than a win condition. Your so said win condition is to have an awnser to everything your opponent plays while he does not have an awnser to what minion you play. You then gain the control over the board, and when your opponent has exhausted his hand you go for face.
Hey thanks for the reply! I'm excited to get started playing druid. This helped a lot.
;)
Been struggling with the new quest druid thing, hope we can see the full deck list soon<3
I'm having trouble too, either I lose before I can setup the quest or I am winning so bad that the quest doesn't help at all. I'll wait until the meta stabilizes and takea decision if the quest is good enough or not.
If Sylvanas and Azure Drake are essential, will this deck do alright in Standard?
I believe that drawing cards will be more problematic since there will be no more Azure Drake, but with new minions such as Tortollan Forager and Bright-Eyed Scout, the problem should be solved.
As for Sylvanas Windrunner, there will be no card able to replace her. That said, no other deck will be able to pick her either. Everybody loses, so it's not that big of a deal.
Living Roots going out will not be a problem either since you can now start with the quest in your hand, assuring you have a turn 1 card to play.
Maybe Fight Promoter ?
I'll try her for sure!
Thanks for posting this guide!
Really buzy rn, but will do as soon as I have some free time!
Thanks!
This is the version I currently use. Note that Deathwing, Aviana and Kun are not in the deck recommandations, as they are all tricky cards to play. If you don't feel comfortable playing these, you can switch for Ooze, Nourish, Azure Drake and/or Second rate bruiser as they are all quite good in the current meta - or you could add some spicy legendaries of your choice!
Thanks for sharing the deck! It looks very fun
