Rexxar was born to go face, right? Wrong.
Rexxar gets confused when he can't go face, right? Wrong.
Smorc to win? Wrong.
Everything is wrong and kinda out of place with this deck. Its like Hunter got tired of murdering face so much and decided to take a different approach. He is meant to be an aggro slayer and that's exactly what this deck is about.
I got so tired of the brainless face and tempo decks around the meta that I tried to imagine what would be the best counter to aggro. Obviously something that can stall the game with excessive healing and removal; but wait, if that's the case... how do you kill the opponent? That's exactly where Hunter comes in. He has the tools to not only bring nightmare and chaos on the board but to also efficiently kill the opponent by turning the tides.
I'll explain myself more in the guide.

General Mulligan
Against Aggro (your favorite food):
You want to find:
- Snake Trap
- Arcane Shot
- Explosive Trap - Your bread and butter against rushers, you got 2 of them.
- King's Elekk - This card is ESSENTIAL in this deck and makes this deck possible. Initially, I wondered how I could consistently get Reno Jackson when I needed him. Excessive card draw would just weaken my deck. This is one more reason Hunter is perfect for such a counter-aggro task. King's Elekk can fish for Reno anytime in the game, when you need him. You got only 7 minions in the deck, 2 of which are the Elekks. You're going to almost always draw a card with him sincer all the minions are high mana and you're never going to regret playing him. He thins the deck to the point where drawing into Reno (*cough* if you need him) wouldn't be a problem. The Elekk also gets you the tools for endgame. Such a great card.
- Eaglehorn Bow - Keep the bow. With such an insane amount of secrets, you'll never run out of durability.
- Powershot - You keep it situational, especially against Shaman.
Against Control (wait that? there's also control decks?):
No problem! You can beat those too, with a little bit of luck.
You're looking for:
- King's Elekk - again. This guy. So insane.
- Freezing Trap
- Eaglehorn Bow
- etc. You can never really mulligan wrong against control.
If you like the deck and enjoy destroying every aggro deck on ladder, leave an upvote and a comment. I'll complete the guide when this gets to 10+.
Cheers!
*I'll complete the guide with the other sections ASAP!*
Here is a pic of a poor Shammy, meeting his fate.
Keep in mind that this is first day of season and everyone is playing cancer aggro.
Replying to yourself...
I disagree with running 2x CotW. Running 2x anything in a reno deck is bad as a rule of thumb. Running 2x late cards is unthinkable. With the way the deck looks now, I'd say it's far too slow against both aggro shaman and aggro paladin. Either run 1x CotW or switch to midrange with anti-aggro tech.
I never said he couldn't. But the plain truth is it could be more consistent, consistency means more wins, and a better implementation of the original intention of the deck i.e. "aggro crusher". I imagine the author of this deck would feel pretty bad consistently losing with reno in hand, because he's in kill range before turn 8 or never drew his 2nd CotW.
Public forums and all that, just trying to help.
I agree that CotW is incredible in control match-ups and all unfavorable match-ups the deck faces, but the problem is that there aren't really enough outs to stall late enough in the game against any zoo type deck or decks that can throw down high health, midgame minions like totem shaman.
You've got a lot of little inserts that provide an answer to a specific situation against a specific deck, but I feel like against n'zoth paladin, you automatically lose to fatigue. same with warrior. Just a lot of really iffy match-ups that you will come up against, even in an aggrocentric meta.
Alright, you're cool.
You can come in.
hmm not very much draw....
Thanks. It does work very well. Definitely legend material. Super fun :)
Very unique, more so fun! so far 3-0 against midrange hunter, dragon priest, and ramp druid (lol havent even played the aggro decks yet).
I also like uncommon hunter decks, especially control. But aren't that too many 2x cards? Are 2 unleash essential?Feel like 1 is enough.
Greetings ;)
