Stream schedule for this week posted above.
Ever thought about switching out 1 Azure Drake for 1 Bloodmage Thalnos ?
Azure drake is way to strong to be a first cut.
Azure's draw is also a Battlecry which makes it a lot more powerful. Go with all 3 if you have them.
First, thank you for this deck. I've had several win streaks with it and haven't had trouble with many match-ups on a regular basis except Priest.
I've been wanting to tinker with this deck but I'm not 100% satisfied with any of my changes. So far the cards I look at for possible inclusion are:
Leper Gnome, Southsea Deckhand, Shiv, Acolyte of Pain, Fan of Knives, Bloodmage Thalnos, Elven Archer, Injured Blademaster
The cards I look at removing are: Loot Hoarder, Perdition's Blade, Argent Commander and Spiteful Smith.
Of all the cards I mentioned the one I am most unhappy with in the deck is Loot Hoarder, and then Smith. The ones that seem interesting are Shiv and Thalnos. Everything else I think may be too conditional. I'm really curious about your thoughts with AoP though. It seems that Smith sits in my hand too long to be useful most games, because when I'm in a position to play it I usually see a better play. Loot hoarder just seems like it never really gets me anywhere except for the odd game every 5 matches or so.
At this moment I'm running your decklist with -2 Loothoarder,+Shiv,+Defias Ringleader. My thought process was to help get rid of shields, and increase the odds I get a coined defias or coined SI agent most games. My next try might be -Defender,+Bloodmage. What are your thoughts?
Refer to topic post #44 and it will give you maybe a better idea of what you should be looking at then it comes to card value.
Questions already answered throughout this post on both topics but the TLDR version is that I'd rather minimize the number of potential dead draws and maximize the number of draws that can have an effect on the board state.
Rnkd thanks for that stuff i finally don't hit with a head my keyboard when I see a hunter ;) AND it works perfect.
I've got all cards you mentioned and made 1 change with TBK after reading all the comments but there is a 1 thing I want to ask.
Is there any better replacement for Sen'jin Shieldmasta. I'm thinking about Dark Iron Dwarf.
What's the reason to play Sen'jin's? More health/taunt?
Keep it up!
Sen'jin is pretty amazing in the current meta, you want something turn 4 that just puts a stop to anything aggro and also is tough to deal with for control. If you dislike the number of taunts I would recommend removing a Defender of Argus first before touching the Sen'jin's.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope you have a lot of success on the ladder.
Hello ZilenZir,
You are one of the few that I have heard having problems with the deck and it's is more than likely matchup RNG related. If you keep on rolling bad matchups you can only expect to win 35-40% of your games. I'm streaming this week W,T,F time fixed later but probably 7-10pm EST. Maybe watching me pilot the deck will give you an idea of how our play styles differ and what it is about the differences in our play styles that will give one or the other an edge. I'm also going to be recording matchups or interest during the stream and starting to post small youtube videos with explainations of the theory behind the plays.
I hope this will help,
Rnkd
Really nice deck and quite budget at that still. What's more important is that it's actually fun to play (midrange hunter is a bit fun but zoolock is just meh after you storm through the low ranks and with the abundance of druids and warriors you hit a brick wall) and can do well in late game which is something I hated when playing aggro decks.
You said you would fit a Shadowstep in this deck with The Black Knight and Big Game Hunter... what would you replace for them? It's your deck man so i'm asking you :D Btw, would Argent Commander be a decent enough replacement for Leeroy Jenkins? I don't usually play aggro so haven't crafted it. Thanks for posting the deck looks very reliable, and is very cheap also.
Hey dismal79,
I was trying to theory craft a deck out of a shadowstep package but don't know enough about the synergy to create anything solid just yet. Bringing that toolbox into the deck is going to take more than replacing a few cards.
I think a workable core for the package would be:
For this it would require 3 spaces which immediately I would drop 1 Defias Ringleader,1 Defender of Argus and Spiteful Smith. However I don't think the rest of the deck would stay the same. You would have to tweak it to compliment the package.
Big Game Hunter may not make the cut because only very few decks are running 7+ power creatures and you don't have any enablers such as Dark Iron Dwarf to pump a 5 to a 7 to make it killable, or in Druid's case Mark of The WIld can be used as removal in combination with TBK or BGH.
On the other hand maybe the package includes 1 BGH and 2 Dark iron Dwarfs. If that is the case your running 9 enablers so maybe 2 shadowsteps is correct and opens up the 18 dmg Leeyroy turn. Cards like Sprint synergizes well with the combo-esc nature of this package as you will want to dig deeper into your deck. You will also need stall because you will have to cut taunts and early drops.
I'll throw something together in deck builder once my brain starts working again.

So, Lol totally theorycrafted, no idea how it will play. Feels like a Batman's Utility Belt kinda deck.
Looks very intresting ^^ Tbh i had already replaced the yetis with Dark Iron Dwarf, as they seem to work very well with Argent Squire. Of course the 5 hp on the yeti has its own merits but... I don't know if with the silence and The Black Knight i would run the sap too, as for Edwin VanCleef not having it id go back to the two Loot Hoarder, otherwise turn 2 is only gonna be dagger up that is ok but sometimes you rather have the guy out i think. As the deck lost the Tazdingo and with the shadowsteps i'd fit in the second Defender of Argus somewhere though the Defias Ringleader were a very good target for it. We need to try and fit enough stuff to play on curve with all the tech otherwise we may lose tempo (which is very strong in this old version)...
Shall we take this to the forums and continue from there? :)
I like where it's going but just don't have time to throw into another deck atm. I'm also lacking TBK, when I get him maybe I'll return and test this idea out. I'm going to focus on making a small youtube series about tempo rogue matchups.
Cool. I hope i'll remember to check the page for links. Good luck!
I'm a very inexperinced rogue player but I can see potential in this deck any advice for a newbie rogue player of this deck?
Same here bro :( anyone could help would be nice :)
As you become familiar with this deck the choices will become second nature. Your weapon is your best friend understand when to use it and when to save it. My general philosophy on it is that I keep the weapon loaded if it is likely that I will use my mana completely playing some thing else the following turn. Sometimes I can spend 30 seconds to a minute running through variables deciding what is the correct choice for weapon management.
Put a large value on the small amount of removal spells you have, analyze weather you can afford to play a creature and take the damage to save a spell that can help you later, or weather the threat needs to be removed straight away. You will start to find that certain cards are mvps in certain match ups. The singletons like Blade Flurry and Ironbeak Owl are two cards that you should put a lot of thought into how you use. For example don't silence Harvest Golems when the silence is better used for a Cairne or breaking through a taunt for lethal.
I could go into a lot more detail as I'm approaching several hundred games with this archetype however just put in the time and run it a little in the ladder setting. Analyze what your truly having issues with and then troubleshoot them yourself.
Example: Oh poops, I eviscerated the Keeper of the Grove and the next turn he played Druid of The Claw. Now I'm screwed. This is just a small example of what to do and not to do with this deck to analyze your matchup and play your cards in an order to maximize their effectiveness.
I'm more than happy to help answer any questions later on when you come back with more specific woes or troubles. For now I recommend sleaving it up and getting some experience.
