This deck has gone through a significant make-over to be standard worthy, and luckily it is much, much better than my old list!
The introduction of Medivh, Fandral, Moonglade Portal, Feral Rage, Yogg-Saron and Barnes have all done wonders to make this deck more potent. The ability to flood the board is as good as ever, and in addition the ability to create large minions has also improved greatly. Most importantly though, the deck benefits from Yogg-Saron being an insane come-back mechanic (I truly wish he wasn't). The greatly improved healing spells in druid don't hurt at all either.
This guide isn't as comprehensive as the last one was, but if I continue to find success with this deck on the legend ladder this season and win a few more tournaments with it, I will add further card justifications and mulligan strategy. Good luck!
Seems like the list is begging for Arcane Giants, but I'm not sure what to cut for them. There's a 5-card token package (both Teachers, both Power of the Wilds, Savage Roar) that could be replaced by two giants and some survivability/removal (another Feral Rage, another Moonglade Portal, maybe a Starfall?), which would also provide good summoning spell value. But I could well be hurting the core of the deck by doing that...
Cut barnes and Mulch and put 2 giants or just barnes, it has a very low value in this deck, the only minion that can give value is fandral and its a very low to summon it with barnes, i know you would say summoning stone or violet teacher but in my opinion the only value you can get at this moment is fandral.
Now with Medivh, is it necesery to play 2 of thsoe wonderfull stones?
2 stones is definitely necessary, I would cut Medivh before cutting a stone as the Barnes synergy is great and there are more games where stone + innervate + spells gets you the win than innervate + Medivh into spells next turn. Medivh is great against control and the stone is better suited for beating midrange and Agro which is the meta of the day
then we can replace medivh with Rag that will give an end turn push or breather
Hey man I appreciate the positive feedback, I'll take some time today to add mulligan info since people are still giving the deck some play time and it is something I intended to do a month ago
Good and fun, but I will use this opportunity to report that I didn't hit legend with it last season, the highest I hit was rank 3. I probably could have gone higher if I didn't get lured into playing some of Kibler's rediculous decks instead, but I might give this deck another shot once Standard comes out and some of the tougher match ups are softened
3-0 so far with this, though I exchanged Saraad for Soul of the Forest, with some promising results, really great to counter AoEs
Fun deck! Definitely not what people are expecting when they see druid :)
Added mulligan strats yesterday. Back to rank 6 with it this season after 1 day of trying, maybe it will keep my interest this season and I'll hit legend with it
This deck is horrible.
This deck looks like its going to be a blast to play! I'm going to give it a try tonight and play it over the weekend :) The Summoning Stone is one of my favorite new cards, and good to see it in a Druid deck
i swapped mulch for FoN and has been great also renamed it Stonehenge after the highland druids of Scotland. :)
Complicated, devious, unusual.....I love it!
