I'm very sorry for my bad English sometimes, my native language is German.
Hey guys,
this is my version of the miracle rogue built for the current META!
Let's begin with some explanations at first...
...what can I replace Bloodmage Thalnos with? → The best replacement is Loot Hoarder in my opinion. In this deck you need that card draw more than Spell Damage. Also you got Azure Drake which secure a 100% card draw. However, if you don't need that extra card draw, then go for Kobold Geomancer. Another substitution would be Shiv. You draw a card, do some damage. It's always viable.
...why Violet Teacher over Xaril, Poisoned Mind? → I personally don't like Violet Teacher that much. BUT I have to admit that this card is just strictly better against aggro decks which you will face all day long. So in the current meta it's much better than Xaril, Poisoned Mind in my honest opinion. If you like Xaril more or want to try it out, just swap it.
...why do you play Earthen Ring Farseer? → It gives you a lot of tempo and heals you eventhough it's not that much. If you don't need healing swap it out for 1x Shiv.
Another good replacement is Cult Apothecary for even more healing.
...why 2x Conceal? → Conceal is most of the time a key card. You need to Conceal your Gadgetzan Auctioneer to get the maximum value out of it on your next turn or to Conceal your Cold Blooded minion to finish off your opponent next turn.
...why only 1x Deadly Poison? → Well, after the Blade Flurry nerf it's really not that helpful anymore. It's good for the early game or to draw cards tho.
Mulligan
Remember when reading the following down there: always try to mulligan Tomb Pillager. With The Coin definitely keep SI:7 Agent! Against slow/control decks you COULD also keep Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Also okay sometimes to keep Xaril, Poisoned Mind for some cheap and effective spells. Against aggressive decks keep something like Backstab and Shiv.
Against a Druid keep Sap and maybe the Shadow Strike/Eviscerate.
Against a Hunter ALWAYS keep Backstab; Fan of Knives is very good too!
Against a Mage keep Shadow Strike/Eviscerate (mostly against tempo mages) and maybe even Sap versus Freeze Mages (you won't see them often though).
Against a Paladin ALWAYS keep Fan of Knives; Backstab could be helpful too quite often. Since there are almost only Control Paladins, you could also keep Sap for the Doomsayer.
Against a Rogue try to mulligan for minions and maybe keep Fan of Knives for the possible Violet Teacher. Theres not much you can do about an Gadgetzan Auctioneer with stealth - but without stealth you gotta destroy it (maybe keep Shadow Strike/Eviscerate)!
Against a Shaman keep Backstab, Eviscerate/Shadow Strike and maybe even Sap for the 3/4 drop on turn 2 or 1 with coin to get A LOT of tempo!
Against a Warlock keep Fan of Knives and Backstab (against Zoolock).
Against a Priest keep all the minions you can get because mostly the Priest doesn't play anything in the early game. His Northshire Cleric can easily be taken out with spells, minions or weapon.
And last but not least against a Warrior keep like all minions you can find, like SI:7 Agent, Earthen Ring Farseer, Tomb Pillager and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Be careful of a possible Brawl!
Do you have any questions? Just ask in the comment section down below!
And let me know what you think about this deck and my guide!
I agree, I switched over to Violet Teacher too since I face a lot of aggro; it's just much better!
I use Farseer because i can heal my minions or in some situation to heal myself and get out of (Spell-/Miniondamage) lethal range. However, I don't think it's really needed... simply replace it with something you would like to put in :)
Coin + Edwin is always strong and hard to clear (most of the time) but if you need to clear a minion to gain board control I would not always go for the turn 2 Coin + Edwin combo... maybe to keep board control.
Xaril is already in the deck tho
If you face a lot of aggro I'd probably do that ye... I mean Xaril is just to slow and Farseer doesn't heal that much. You COULD put in a Cult Apothecary tho :)
I don't have Tomb Pillager. What are some good replacements for it? Any help would be great!
Sorry, Tomb Pillager is one of the key cards... not replaceable.
If you really want to play this deck without it try Violet Teacher or maybe even a Gnomish Inventor
Ok thanks. I've been using Gnomish Inventor and have been moving up in the ranks a lot.
I'm glad you're doing fine :)
I use exact deck. You must play aggressive and go for face at times. Let opponent trade
That's literally the worst thing you can do, the deck is a reactive deck, mainly used to clear boards until you get enough damage into his face to where you can instantly burst him down. its not an aggressive deck.
Hmm. I feel after playing this deck a lot you must be aggressive in this meta, you need to know the opponent classes well to avoid punish. If you watch Kolento or Thijs, they also play agressive. Reason is that this deck has limited damage. In long game you will lose. Many times i find my myself drawing whole deck
vs druid 3 - 3 lost
vs paladin 3 - 3 lost
vs priest 1 win 2 lost
vs warrior 2 lost
vs mage 1 win 1 lost
vs hunter 3 lost 0 win
last games with this deck atm sucks .
you just dont know how to play it correctly, as of the current meta, Miracle rogue is the highest tier difficulty deck in the game, i often spend entire turns thinking about what they have, and what i have, how to use my cards to the maximum mana potential, only to do the turn in 5 seconds, to find i win by board control, the deck's counters are freeze mage, and hunter. it counters tempo warrior, druid of all kinds, depending on draws, warlock zoo, Dragon priest, and Control paladin.
just as im writing this, i just hit a priest for 22 damage, exact lethal, you just have to think about the plays before you play them, then play around plays in the next turn this is the only way to play Miracle rogue, if you want brain dead rogue play N'zoth rogue.
You are playing it wrong. I also keep track of games and i am really favored against hunter and priest. Key is to finish game quickly. Call of Wild is super annoying.
Yea good idea, I will do that. Currently I'm writing all my final exams so I don't really have that much time so you need to be a bit patient. And thank you for your comment :)
Hey mate hows it going,
so im currently running a very similar deck being deckhand miracle with the faceless combo and im finding im getting shit on by control warrior and cant really win that matchup can you give me any tips into the matchup with this deck or maybe give me some pointers with the one im currently running as its back and forward with my climbing :) i apprecaite any help you can provide as i love this form of rogue as a whole and jsut need a few tips to beat the matchup :D
The kind of deck you're running does more damage then this kind of deck but against control decks (especially warrior) you need to get lucky with your draws. Since you want to burst him with Faceless and Deckhand combo you need to draw the combo as early as possible otherwise your popponent will kill you/taunt up/armor up so it's not possible.
That means, if you face a lot of control decks, this kind of miracle rogue is a bit better... but you'll always have a hard time against control decks in generel.
ohhh i see :D thanks dude but another question again kinda sorry for being annoying with questions but would a miracle rogue with more spell damage via malygos be better for ladder atm? :) thanks haha
You're not annoying :D
I really like Malygos Rogue but it's less consistent than Miracle Rogue so imo it's worse to ladder. If you like it tho, go ahead and play it :) a lot of fun to play!
