WARNING
Deck may cause cancer
And some salt
Legend proof :)
This deck took me to rank 1 and I only lost 2 matches from rank 5. At rank 1 it got a bit tougher but eventually I pulled through and reached legend!
This deck does really well in the current meta, for me it wrecked aggro druids, midrange and secret paladins, crushed rogues and had decent win rate against control warriors which pretty much sums up the meta in these top ranks.
The mulligan for a face hunter is pretty simple as you most often try to get 1 or 2 1-drops and a 2-drop. Having the coin gives you a great advantage as you can play 2 2-drops in a row which is pretty huge for face hunters. Mad Scientist should be played before Knife Juggler most of the time to bait out removals like Wrath or Slam (if you can play both on the same turn you obviously play Knife Juggler first). On turn 4 or 5 you usually wanna try and start using your hero power every turn to decrease the odds of you having to top deck.
The general strategy for this deck is to simply attack the face and get your opponent down to 0 hp as fast as humanly possible. Minions like Armorsmith, Darnassus Aspirant, Flamewaker and Knife Juggler should be traded into if they're played on curve because they can be very dangerous if you let them live. Other than those 4 there are very few if any minions that you should rather trade into than just go for the face.
After reading this you should be ready to hunt for them faces (Especially the face of Garrosh Hellscream as he is a hunter's worst enemy) so remember, have fun and go for the face. "The Face is The Place" -SMOrc
Silence, also you should have some minions in your hand or on the board to trade into it with :)
Still go face.
jk
Keep your owls in hand if you know you're playing against a deck that runs fat taunt minions. If it's dragon priest you probably lost anyway. Smaller taunt minions, just plow through them.
Insert obligatory ground-breaking face hunter deck when the season has about 3 days left. I just want to say thanks for everyone that played this trash the last few days, really helped my last minute climb.

This guide is better and by Krup. There are some small differences--for one, I like 3 secrets better than 2 and Bear Trap is so strong to be honest. The Southsea is an interesting idea, but worgen is stronger on turn 1 (Southsea definitely better when drawn late though). But personally I think haunter creeper is losing it's power in most match-ups. Good against Paladin though, but I see so many warlocks lately that I just feel an extra trap is better.
If you're removing a Haunted Creeper then what are you going to trade with? Only minion that's left in your deck that's efficient with trading is Argent Horserider so what are you going to do against stuff like Flame Imp turn 1? I strongly suggest keeping the Haunted Creeper as it's often the only tool for you to stop decks like zoo from just overwhelming you with board control. But hey, that's just me :)
Maybe some newer players don't know the deck? Maybe some people want to see if new cards are added? Maybe he just felt like he wanted to share a good deck in the meta right now. I can think of many reasons to post this, it's up to the people to up vote and show it.
Thank you, I agree with you, I don't really understand why all the hate. Sure, similar decklists have been posted and upvoted before but personally I think it's quite nice when someone reposts decks that used to be viable some time ago just so I know it's still really good :)
Yes, many players prefer theSnake Trap to theExplosive Trap :)
You must've said something wrong, I never said facehunter was necessarily favored against aggro druid, although I DID win 70% of my games against aggro druids. The reason why the guide is so short is because there isn't much to explain in regards of the deck, it's very much self-explainable. I never said you should ALWAYS hit the face but most of the time you want to, there are a few minions that you have to remove, like I said in my guide, if you had cared to read it.
That's because you're just babbling a lot in the guide, 1 minute in and you've already lost it, suggesting to remove a Haunted Creeper and then you want to trade more? What exactly are you going to trade with? Haunted Creeper is the only minion besides Argent Horserider you should actually feel comfortable with trading. And on the topic of topdecking a lot as face hunter... Usually I don't start topdecking until turn 8 or 9 and by that time I should usually already have won the match, otherwise it should just go long enough for my opponent to completely annihilate me. Learn the deck before making a guide on it please :)
Wait, what spells are you talking about? Quick Shot and Kill Command? If you're talking about trading with these spells then I really disagree. If you consider activating a trap "trading" then yes, I do agree.
Regarding the 1v1 I don't have time for it since I have exams going on at the moment but sure, once I finish the exams ;)
Wtf mate, it's just the goddamn basic face deck, why do you even post this?
GJ :-) some say cancer. I say GJ cos I know it is not easy specially now that Reno is here. I gave up on this deck I just could not get pass Reno decks and warriors and dragon taunting healing priest. Anyway nice to see it is still possible. Maybe after some time when they get tiered of long matches with Reno will get easier again. I also 4 the moment enjoy Reno and Rogue Raptor :) Have fun and Ty 4 sharing.
Thanks :) Haha, it wasn't easy that's for sure, some Reno decks just crushed me but they are pretty inconsistent with only 1 copy of each card in their deck so when they don't draw Reno (which happens kinda often) you should just crush them :)
I agree, Raptor Rogue is one of the most fun meta decks I've seen in a while :D
i think i just quite too fast i run into about 10 or so counters in row and get salty :)
It is good deck that has a chance vs any deck if they don't draw like Antique Healbot on the Brann Bronzebeard and pick it up with Youthful Brewmaster or pick Reno Jackson back ... GG fun game :D
Yeah, there have been some debates on wether I should runSouthsea Deckhand or Worgen Infiltrator to meSouthsea Deckhand means extra guaranteed 2 damage where asWorgen Infiltrator could always die to something likeKnife Juggler or Flamewaker. Anyways, well done mate! :D
ME HAVE KUESTIONZ , WORTH KRAFT GLAIVESUKA? , WHAT DU YU THINK OF DART TRAP UND KAMMEL, THX
Glaivezooka > Dart Trap and Camel
*proceeds to play secret pally*
I used to think this was close to the the optimal build, but it really isn't.
A few notes I have found useful:
-Glaivezooka is a huge key to this deck, and it makes absolutely no sense to only run a single one of them. We all know that an absolutely ideal opener is 1-Drop//pass//Glaivezooka, or Coin-->Haunted Creeper//pass//Glaivezooka. Not to mention that it's just as useful in the late game for dealing face damage, frankly, and Glaivezooka especially is nice because it splits its damage and allows you to use it to deal extra damage with the buff while perhaps defusing a threat or poking through a Taunt with your face to save your minions.
And frankly, I'd cut an Eaglehorn Bow for it, because I also don't think Face can justifiably run 4 weapons, and Glaivezooka is just the better of the two. It's not that Eaglehorn Bow is bad - its amazing! It's just that I think Face Hunter functions best when only utilizing a single copy of it. You don't want to depend on your secrets too much, especially when everyone knows you're almost certainly running 2x Explosive Trap and many decks will play around this or take advantage of this knowledge.
-Southsea Deckhand isn't as good as Worgen Infiltrator. It just *isn't*. Especially when there's so much Rogue and Druid on the ladder and it's so easy to lose a 1-drop to a Hero Power ping or something. Worgen Infiltrator is just plain better.
-It took me a while to come to terms with this, and it might be hard to hear, but guys... Argent Horserider is a pretty mediocre card, ultimately, and it really does not belong in Face Hunter anymore than, say, Argent Squire belongs in Face Hunter. :( I know, it makes me sad, too, but just stop and think about it here - this is Face Hunter, meaning we only want to trade when absolutely necessary, and frankly that's antithetical to the very idea of a charging minion with Divine Shield.
Basically, the reason why Argent Horserider is still a good card in this deck is because it is sticky. Face Hunter doesn't really have any sticky minions left in it besides Haunted Creeper in some builds, and this makes them extremely vulnerable to a lot of really common defenses used against Aggro. Cards like Consecration or an opposing Explosive Trap just utterly wrecks your day still, and you're going to be facing a *LOT* of Paladin on the ladder (both Secret and Midrange, both running Consecrations usually) and Hunter on the ladder - I've even seen Druid decks teching in Starfall on occasion just to punish other Aggro decks.
So my solution is to run 2x Piloted Shredder. Pretty simple, right? But you'd be surprised how many people don't expect it in Face Hunter, and don't deal with it well. And (obviously!) it is so, so, so freaking good. I mean, it's the best 4-drop in the game (arguably the best/most important minion in the game - full stop). You get tons of damage out of him, he survives all those 2-damage AoE spells, and obviously if he still gets killed...
And he has amazing late-game synergy with the deck's overall approach, just the ethos and play-style of Face Hunter, in general. You drop him on turn 4-6, and even if your opponent immediately responds by removing the Shredder, they still have to deal with the Deathrattle, which you will of course be able to attack with immediately. It is just EXACTLY what Face Hunter needs, and it confounds and befuddles me that everyone doesn't run 2x Piloted Shredder in every single iteration of their Face Hunter builds.
