Hi.
I know the title looks misleading but it's true. I had an insane win rate from rank 3 to Legend. I might have also been the luckiest guy but let me explain why this deck worked.
First, I would like to detail my background a little. I started playing last May and besides the first two months, always been consistently rank 5 or better. I didn't have the time or energy to grind it out to Legend. This season was the first time I've achieved Legend. I was actually not planning for Legend this season but the deck just worked extremely well and got me there.
I was using different decks to rank 4 and 3 this season when I saw a shift in meta where there were more midrange/tempo and control decks appearing to counter the amount of zoos and hunters. I decided switch to Mech Shaman to counter those decks. Mech Shaman's pressure and progressing board presence with beefy minions performs very well against most control decks (Warriors and Handlocks, etc.). It's also good against Mech Mage (faced one) since shaman Mechs out values theirs. The weakness to Mech shaman according to Tempostorm were Zoo and Hunters. I faced a few but were able to pull off wins against them. Against them, it's all about the start and if you can get your early 1 or 2 drops, you can win. Rockbiter is good if you have coin. My matches against Hunters were Very Close! Fel reaver/bursts helps A lot.
Questions you might have:
Why two earthshocks?
- Pros - Helps against Twilight Drakes, Taunts, Mad scientists, Eggs, even a leper gnome/loot hoarder.
- Cons - Sucks have have two in your hand. You can replace this card with another mech, flame tongue, or Ragnaros.
Why Fel Reaver?
- Fel Reaver is a great body for 5 mana. The discard/burning of cards is not a huge drawback since you will win the game most of the time without going through your entire deck. Even if your opponent have a removal for him such as bgh, hex, siphon soul, execute, they would have wasted their removal and you still have big dudes coming in such as fire elemental and dr. boom.
- Play Fel Reaver as soon as you can and hopefully on curve (turn 5 or 4 with mech warper). Try not to play two Reavers at once. You will fatigue fast in that way.
- Weaknesses - cheap taunts (mirror image, annoyatron), sludge belcher, aldor peacekeeper, and bgh.
General Mulligan:
- Mulligan for 1 or 2 drop minions or a nice curve such as 1 drop, 2 drop, then 3 drop minion.
I usually won't keep a 3 drop minion unless i have something to play on turn 1 and 2 or if I have coin.
Priority cards are Cog Master, Mechwarper, Annoy-o-tron in your starting hand then Whirling Zap-o-matic.
- Depending on the match up, there are situational cards I would keep in my starting hand such as Earth Shock, Powermace with coin, and Rockbiter Weapon(with coin).
Some Tips on how to play:
- You first 3 turns are very important. If you have coin, mechwarper and annoytron in your starting hand. Don't coin mechwarper on turn 1, instead play mechwarper, coin annoytron on turn 2. This way your opponents will have more difficulty removing your two minions on their turn. Find ways to protect your mech warper or at least use its discount.
- Annoy-o-tron is a great card to protect your mech warpers, whirling zap-o-matics, and big minions.
- You want to play your minions on curve and do not hold back unless you suspect an AOE clear. This is an aggressive deck, you want to be playing minions every turn. If they do stabilize, you still have burst that can win you the game such as crackle, lava burst, rockbiter, doomhammer.
Combos - Rockbiter with doomhammer (10 damage). Rockbiter with whirling zapomatic (12 damage).
- Depending on the match up, you will need to control the board in the early turns, This is not an all face deck. Once you control the board, your big minions will do their job and can kill the opponent in two/three turns. *Don't use Fel Reaver to trade or attack their minions unless you need to prevent lethal, 90% of the time, he attacks FACE.*
- Power mace is a great weapon to gain tempo, it usually clears two enemy minions and can give your mechs a buff.
Additional comment added June 5th
- I just watched my friend play this deck and now I understand why some people are having trouble with it. The Early Turns are extremely Important! Sometimes they play themselves because of your starting cards, but there's definitely some decision making for optimal plays and what to trade and how. These are the tough decisions when you don't have an optimal starting hand. It can win or lose you the game by turn 4. Unfortunately, I can't elaborate more since it's depending on the match up and what minions your opponent have on board. As stated above, this is not an All Face Deck. You need to control the board in the early turns.
Substitutions:
Fel Reaver - Fireguard Destroyer, Mech Yeti
1 Earth Shock - Clockwork Gnome, flame tongue totem, Hex, Kezan Mystic
Doomhammer - Sorry, non replaceable. Too much burst potential
*New* Here's My Video Explaining the deck.
Here's a video of a Hearthpwn member playing my deck on ladder.
WOW! Made it to Deck of the Week Twice! Thanks Everyone!

Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask questions below.
He's more of an End game card. I would not want to play him as removal or put him down without lethal. He's 6 damage for 5 mana. Lava Burst will do 5 damage for 3 mana. Lotheb has 5 attack as well, and Fel Reaver have 8 attack at 5 mana. If you prefer burst, you can add in another Lava Burst for damage to the face bypassing taunts.
Nice Mech Shaman deck. I like the Harvest Golem for Mechanical Yeti swap. Was wondering if you've ever experimented with Earth Shocking your own Fel Reaver since you run two Earth Shocks?
Hi. Thank You.
Yes. i have earth shocked my own Fel Reaver before, but not for silencing the discard of cards. I would do it if its frozen or it's been Aldor to 1 attack.
The deck is great, bursted from 15 into 11 but was stopped by "ex- legendary" fellas with that card back. I didn't have Fel reavers though, swithed them with 1 Facless manipulator and 1 enchance - o mechano
Nice! rank 11 is very good on day 4.
It is truth, but as fast as you climb - you also fall down, so will see how this deck performes later.
Congratulations on achieving Legend. How would you say your deck is different from other popular Mech Shaman decks, and how does this make it better? The only difference I see is Harvest Golem chosen over Mechanical Yeti as well as no Enhanco or Ragnaros.
Hi and Thank you.
In no way would I say I created a brand new archetype or "Mech Shaman". I think this idea started a few seasons ago with purple drank and firebat hitting Legend and high ranks with their version. My deck is very similar to other Mech Shaman decks out there with a few tweaks of my own. It is an innovation at best and not an invention. I am posting my experience here on how I achieved Legend last season using this deck and the effectiveness against the meta at the time. Along the way, I saw players with questions on how to play it so I added a general mulligan guide and some tips.
Sometimes tweaking in one or two cards is enough to give the deck a little something extra to win more games. For example, the addition of sea giant in zoo was huge a few seasons ago. This deck was tweaked to what I saw was needed to win a few more games. An extra earth shock to hand taunts, scientists, etc. Harvest Golem to help more with early game and also deathrattle so there's still a minion if they try to clear him. Sometimes, I prefer dropping Harvest Golem to Spider tank as the opponent can one shot kill the spider tank with a spell where it takes two to kill Harvest. Also a buff up Harvest at 4/5 is better than spider tank at 5/6 against Priest.
Thanks for your comment.
Interesting comments. Why do you not run Ragnaros in this deck?
I prefer a faster start than more late game. If you get Rag in your opening hand, he'll be unplayable for 7 turns. Also, rng, not guarantee to hit face.
Terrible so far. Almost always lose even with ideal mulligans.
Any kind of control shuts this deck down hardcore.
Fel Reaver is insanely unreliable. The earlier you play it, the more likely your opponent is just going to troll your deck away before they remove it, and the later you play it, the less likely it's going to be able to aggro them down in time.
Constantly running into early game dead hands, unless I modify the deck to the point where it's unrecognizable.
Look at my comment that I posted down below yours. I'm up 4 ranks since that comment. I'm telling ya, the fel reavers are what ruins the deck. I've even won several control games cause of the fast starts.
I can't really say much about how this deck works higher up on the ladder, but I made some tweaks and I've been doing quite well so far. I don't have Fel Reavers or a Doomhammer, so instead I am running double Mech Yeti and a Bloodlust. The Bloodlust has won me the game several times already. Since your minions are generally tiny, or midrange at best, your opponents aren't as concerned with clearing your board like they are with a Fel Reaver. Then you sneak in a bloodlust and push in an insane amount of damage.
0-2 so far... Only have 1 Fel Reaver so I'm using Enhance-o Mechano instead and a Neptulon instead of Dr. Boom (though I should have him by the end of the week).
Hi,
Instead of Enhanco or Neptulon, Try subbing in 2 clockwork gnomes or 2 fireguard destroyers or Mech Yetis or combinations of them.
Thanks for acknowledging the misleading title. This deck is a whole lot of fun, but it's unreliable on the ladder and often times I end up with a mulligan of shaman spells and cogmaster. It's like Blizzard wants to punish me for running Fel Reaver, so the only mech i see or can use before turn 5 is Felreaver.
When it works, it's a whole lot of fun... But I've been getting destroyed by mages, locks, hunters and rogues with safer and more dependable decks.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience. If you feel unlucky with the mulligan, you can take out 1 earth shock and 1 flame tongue totem and put in 2 clockwork gnomes. If that doesn't work, you can even sub out a crackle and put in a leper gnome. This will give you 5 one drop minions and you'll be guarantee to have a good start... unless blizzard has a thing against you. ^_~
How does this deck work without ANY card draw mechanics? You're really just praying to get the right cards when you need them?
It works like Mech Mage (which also doesn't have draw) which you keep dropping minions and kill your opponent before the late game. You have more mid range minions which requires your turn's mana so you can only afford to put down 1 minion per turn. I don't feel like i need much card draw during the first 7-8 turns since i'm drawing one card and playing one card per turn. If the game last longer or into the late game, you will prob lose or if you can top deck a finishing spell.
I'm running a very similar deck. Only except for Fel Reaver I'm running 2 Belcher and it's working wonderfully, although I'm realizing that the deck is kind of soft to Oil Rogue due to the cheap efficient removal and board clear
