Hello!
I just hit rank 1 on EU! Check my demon zoo list here: hearthpwn.com/decks/236381-brm-rank-1-eu-demon-zoo
I'm part of the Double Dutch Dragons team and climbed from rank 7 to legend in only 7 hours with this list. With a win rate of over 70% (Might be more, but I didn't keep track) I am currently rank 18 Legend on EU.
The moment I saw Quick Shot I knew it would become a great addition to the face hunter strategy. I replaced Haunted Creeper with Quick Shot, since it's much faster and isn't a dead draw when you actually need the damage. Other changes include adding a second Ironbeak Owl and a Snake Trap. I always felt like 1 Ironbeak Owl wasn't enough to get past Sludge Belcher and other taunts. The Snake Trap can catch your opponent off guard and get in a lot of damage. It also insures you getting value from the Mad Scientist.
General strategy:
Obviously go face as much as possible, but don't be a retard and go face when you have a really good trade. Remember to be mana efficient every turn, and if you can squeeze in your hero power without losing too much tempo, go for it. For example: It might be better to play Animal Companion + hero power on turn 6 instead of Animal Companion + Eaglehorn Bow. So you can follow up with Eaglehorn Bow + hero power + 2 drop on turn 7. Every damage counts and you will find yourself winning with exact lethal or being 1 damage off lethal most of the time.
Mulligan guide: Without coin
Mulligan aggresively for a one drop, both Leper Gnome and Abusive Sergeant are always keeps. Other then those two cards, Mad Scientist is the best 2 drop to keep. Against warrior it is fine to keep Ironbeak Owl as well, so you can silence the early Armorsmith. If you have a one drop and an Animal Companion in your opening hand, it is fine to keep both. Since there's a big chance you will draw into a 2 drop. In the worst case you can play Leper Gnome turn 1, turn 2 hero power and turn 3 Animal Companion. You generally want to throw away all the damage spells such as SKill Command, Quick Shot and most obviously your secrets, since you want to get those from the Mad Scientist.
With coin
Still mulligan the same as with out the coin. Only major difference is that it's fine to keep a double 2 drop when you have the coin. For example Knife Juggler + Mad Scientist. Or Mad Scientist + Glaivezooka.
Other notes
- Don't be greedy and do non value plays just so you can get a draw from the Quick Shot. It is perfectly fine to play it as a 3 face damage card.
- Always count up all the damage in your hand for about 3 turns ahead. This way you will know how much you can afford to trade, while aiming for lethal damage within the next few turns.
- Obviously only make the favorable trades, for example: Your Leper Gnome into his Knife Juggler. Or clearing a mech when you can expect Goblin Blastmage on turn 4. It's not always face guys ;).
This should give you a general idea of how to play with this deck. There is still a ton of stuff I haven't covered in this guide such as specific class matchups, but I might update that if this deck gets more views :).
Cheers, and have fun facetards!

*Tune in Saturday 18 April. At 13:00 PM CEST (European time) for the climb to #1 :)
Sounds like you lose a lot
There is the special place for u facetards in the boiling pot at the bottom of the hell ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Damn, it's gonna be overcrowded
Great deck but I don't have Leroy. Swapped in an extra Wolf Rider and just went 7-1 on the EU ladder so happy but wondering what other Leroy replacements might work?
Leeroy is a really hard card to replace. Not only is he just a self-proclaimed win condition, but he has applications in the late game. He combos great with Unleash the Hounds. Leeroy was at one point the champion of Hearthstone. Leeroy cost four, scavenging buzzard cost two, and unleash the hounds cost two. If you didn't play Hearthstone then, let me tell you, the deck was insane! Loatheb is a fine replacement but serves a completely different function. Loatheb is best when you have a solid board and lethal next turn and you just want to prevent a board clear. The second Wolfrider is fine, but Leeroy or Loatheb are much better.
Well, what can i say. I'm still losing 5/6 with this face hunter deck, just like with the usual one.
It just sucks in the current meta. Everyone runs several taunts and everyone has at least 1 kezan mystic who fucks you up hard.
I would cosider myself a not-so-bad Hearthstone player, so, yeah, dunno what guys you all are facing, but my opponent are all well prepared for face hunter. Btw playing on EU. Maybe i am bad and just didn't realize it yet, but i gotta say, my opponents nearly always have the right cards and are topdecking 8/10. Me maybe 2/10. RNG hates me. Maybe some of you Face hunter Legends can watch me play and tell me what the heck i am doing wrong.
Sincerely
a confused and disappointed hearthstone player
If you are facing a lot of anti-hunter, don't play hunter. Play a deck that does well in the meta; adaptation is a skill that makes legend players.
thats the problem. facehunters dont know how to adapt. lol
I gotta admit, at first i thought Face Hunter can be played totally braindead. As this might be true, you will lose against the not so shitty and well prepared players. And there are plenty of them on EU atm. I switched to this Face Hunter Deck because i thought with the snake trape it might be doing a bit better. But nope, they all know how to play around it. I was pretty surprised how many smart players there are at rank 19-15. To the deck itself again: i often found myself having 2 quickhots in hand after 2-3 turns and that just sucks and kills your tempo especially if your opponent draws well. And as i said, people usually draw good against me so i am pretty much fucked most of the time. Topdecking > me. But enough with the crying. I'm gonna play this deck if i get a hunter daily but not in constructed, just giving free wins with this deck atm.
If you want to get to Legend with this deck:
- Don't get smart opponents who are prepared
- Topdeck like a moron all the time
- Believe in the magic of Hearthstone ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
- Stop using this deck because: the luck needed = not the amount of luck you get, unless you belong to the group of
Topdeckerinos like Amaz and so on.
PS: Having at least 3-4 Taunts and 1 Kezan > Face Hunter
I could not agree more, well said ikione
ive gone 10+ wins in a row with this decks ... you should use the quickshot as atempo play and not hold them in your hand until they're your last card
Yea i guess that might be true. Doesn't change the fact that i am often RLY unlucky and don't topdeck nearly as much as others. It would be helpful if a legend like you could spectate me and tell me when i'm missplaying, but i guess that would be too much to ask for right? Anyway thanks for the replies, have a good day.
Someone hit legend with a 700 dust Grim Patron warrior deck. It is true most decks are expensive to craft but not all.
Goddamn, I love the tempo and speed of this deck.
No Haunted Creeper ? Explains ? :0
Haunted Creeper has only 1 damage and no charge; it doesn't do too much damage in a Facehunter deck.
Hi! +1 Wolfrider -1 Leeroy Jenkins is viable since i don't have it?
Argent Commander or Arcane Golem make cheap replacements as well!
I prefer arcane golem
There are already 2 AG in this deck.
