This Deck on release was a supersizing powerhouse during the first few weeks of the undertaker nerf patch..., I thought i would Update the Txt here since a couple people have asked me if its still viable... and the truth is somewhat, but you would have to change a ton for it to be competitive in wild. But even then, it wouldn't be a top teir deck and more of just a for fun kinda experience.

This is by far the fastest aggro deck i have ever come across. And unlike most overly aggressive aggro decks this one has ways to regain tempo making "all in" plays much less risky.
Tips.
Mulligan for at least one draw, and then go for any one drops besides abusive sergeant.
Do NOT Keep Wisp in your opening hand. it is a combo card to be used with Hobgoblin
-2 Coghammer. -1 Elven Archer. +2 Equality. +1 Truesilver Champion. Win more.
You got the 50 upvotes dude
If you really got legend with this deck I will eat a hobgoblin
at rank 12/13, it is fun and fast if you draw good like most pallie aggro decks.
but no equality means trading will be hard as hell, you could be facing a ragnaros on turn 6 vs a druid with no answer or 10 thousand warlock giants with taunt, to make it wose with that many cards to draw other cards you definitely wont have an answer
and it will happen, having divine favour and jeeves at the same time early on, sometimes more than one..it will happen a lot!
Not to mention that if you are facing aggro and you`re starved early on so will the enemy be , however unlike a mage your draws need for your foe to have a hand, by the time they get a hand they have spent it to gain board control..
Biggest problem here is consistency unlike other aggro decks, all it takes for tragedy is too much draw cards or too few and all sorts of aoe maddness can cost you a game, or taunts for that matter
This deck is fun but very unreliable. I regret crafting a Hobgoblin and a Coghammer for it, and like others, have my doubts about this legendary claim.
Dont worry about the hobgoblin, it's good in a lot of other decks right now as well.
lol that's what you get for net decking
hobgoblin is good in aggro paladin (shockadin used to be my jam), but without sword of justice the hobgoblin combo doesn't build much steam. I mean, echoing ooze + hobgoblin + SOJ (+ any number of buffs *cough* blessing of kings) can do a lot of work, quickly.
This deck is hilarious. There nothing wrong with it. Went from Rank 12 to 9 no problem. I find that pretending to be a mustard paladin or shock-a-din really messes with the opponent.
proof?
You should get to legend using a wallet-warrior, then play this "legendary" deck, or it doesnt work :p
I'd been playing a very similar deck by lifecoach from back in December. The addition of Annoyotron has made some difference, but like practically all of pally agro decks, if you don't draw into your card-draw, it's incredibly difficult to get anywhere.
Man, I wondered where this deck popped up from. Ive been facing it a lot lately. Unfortunately it fits into an already fast meta. So for right now ive been playing Anti-Aggro Druid, that also does well against mid range decks. Ive yet to lose against this deck when playing that druid deck, However it falls well against mech mage which constructed is flooded with from rank 25 - rank 10. Past rank 10 you start facing more druids, warriors and pallies though, meaning you have to think more. I can see this deck getting people mindlessly to rank 8 ish. Past that, i guess good luck and Well Met! I hope to see you >:) lol
Wouldn't this work better in druid with savage roar?
My friend, Hobgoblin is fun. Fun is worth it more than anything. Even not for this deck, he is worth crafting.
You can go for high-priority legendaries first. If you have a class you like, you can also go for their legendaries and key cards. For example, if you like pally, you should get Muster for Battle and Equality at least, while Quartermaster can be a good add.
It also depends on your play style. Decks with Hobgoblin are mostly aggro. They usually play multiple synergies to maintain board pressure and get value mid/late game from small minions with 1 attack. Do you like this play style is the question.
If you want a cheap deck with fine win rate, try face hunters, mech mage or tempo shamy.
The answer to your question: I think most people would agree Hobgoblin is fun and can be efficient, but he is not top-tier choice of card for competitive plays.
I myself don't believe this deck made itself into legendary from rank 5 or any rank below. I would guess it is played starting from rank 2 or so, with more control match ups. If your opponent don't have any good early answer, I imagine you would win pretty quickly.
If you don't have Hobgoblin on hand, you have a higher chance drawing Jeeves or Divine Favor (after all, there are a finite number of cards in your deck). Low-cost minions get played on the board and you get to cycle your hand for more pressure and the Hobgoblin. The chance you don't draw any of these are relatively low, hence card draw can be somewhat stable.
I would say Wisp and Stonetusk Boar (among others) are some extreme choices. But that's just the philosophy of this deck. If you have doubt, you can run some other variances. But yes, this doesn't seem like a competitive deck.
If you don't think this deck can convince you to play Hobgoblin because you want a competitive AND fun deck, try token druid or mech mage with him. I would play Hobgoblin because he looks fun. Getting into legend rank with him is an addition to the fun. I crafted Ysera for the same reason, burning two golden legendaries when I didn't have The Black Knight. She just makes my game for the days.
I look at your question from a perspective of a person who play a game to kill time. Some fun is in winning. But I see more fun in epic wins. I am the kind of person who likes assembling decks around the most stupid winning conditions. I still play Holy Wrath with Giants for fun and Pirate cannon mage in casual, when I am tired of mech mages in ladders. A lot of times I get friend requests after wrathing out 20 dmg for the win or getting 4 pirate cannon on board to deal tons.
A lot of people look for legend proof, which means they want a competitive deck. Mech mage/shamy or ramp druid can probably bring you to legend among any other good decks, assuming you have a lot of time and 51% win rate.
Since you doubt the value of Hobgoblin, probably you shouldn't craft him. There are more efficient epics like the giants. But I would recommend crafting him when you are out of good craft targets.
