*Had to change the name since I took out Maly, RIP
***********Vs Warlock mulligan aggressively for clowns, a collosus, and raise deads (sometimes taelan too). The idea is to then play tons of clowns (or at least have the pieces in your hand) before they can mill you into oblivion. Don't worry too much about twisting nether and stuff, you want them to burn all their removal on your sets of clowns until they run out. If you're able, discover more raise dead's too. If you play it this way, you stand a pretty good chance. My win rate is well above 50% vs warlock. I think some people have been playing this match up very wrong, so I thought I'd shed some light.
Decided I'd go back to the drawing board a bit and came up with this. A couple things I want to point out that's different from the other version.
Obviously this version is running another raise dead, and is not running y'shaarj. The reasoning is that y'shaarj is literally the clunkiest card from the other deck. You don't even want to see it unless you've played a set of corrupted clowns. Having 2 raise deads gives way more flexibility, with more or less the same result. Vs heavy control decks save them (and discover them if you can), and vs aggressive decks, you can now bring back 2 minions instead of having a 10 drop sitting in your hand. Cool stuff
-want to point out too that it makes getting the initial corrupted clowns out a bit easier, as taelan can no longer draw y'shaarj and always draws your a colosus, which is used to corrupt.
A couple other additions include Mo'arg Articifier (MA) and devouring plagues. MA works really well with clearing the board and buying you time. Its worth pointing out that if you play it with devouring plague, you deal 8 and heal for 8 which is very nice. There's also quite a few ways to generate more damaging spells through disovering and veilweaver in the deck. Not a bad raise dead target vs aggressive decks either. Just found out piercing shot still only does 2 damage to your hero (when MA is at full health) due to piercing shot so its safe to play. The 2-4 body is nice early game too, specifically against paladin, who generally have no cards that can take advantage of his effect.
Devouring plague is another addition. As I said it works well with MA and it makes xyrella much more consistent. It's a spell so it can be hit by palm reading. Overall it's been a really solid card in the deck.

Updates - Decided to go with venomous scorpid over veilweaver. Veilweaver requires a bit of set up, plus i often found myself only netting 1 extra spell anyways. On top of that discover is significantly better than a random spell so you can respond to a certain situation. So far the change has been great.
Made another pretty huge change. I decided to take out Maly and a devouring plague for 2 claw machines. Essentially the idea is to be able to respond to bigger minions easier, and to make it even less clunky. I was using 1 claw machine in my original build and it was actually really good. By adding 2 claw machines and taking out Maly we still keep some of that draw, and can fight for the board better. On top of that there are some very good draw/buff targets such as the clowns or samauro. You can also use apotheosis on them too if you are in a pinch.

I've really been enjoying it. So far my win rate is 65% at legend rank. I think this deck does a bit better than the other given the current meta. https://imgur.com/a/tsiFP0b
Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Thanks and GL

Another little update- decided to make a couple very slight changes. Added 2 draconic studies in place of a claw machine and taelan. The reason is that draconic studies is an insane card and claw machine and taelan can be a little clunky. Also with taelan particularly, 5 mana for a 3-3 that can't impact the board immediately is very meh in this meta right now imo; you also draw a colossus which is something you generally hold on to for a while anyways. Draconic studies is just way more flexible. Hit legend pretty easily this season, and I think these minor changes do make the deck stronger. I went 23-8 with this version when I was climbing diamond. (I forgot to turn deck tracker on for a couple games so it says 20-8)
What deck are you guys playing with?
Because with this one I´m 2 for 21 at the moment. I don´t believe you guys when you say you have a 50+ winrate with it.
I made this deck before the miniset came out so it was suited for the old meta. I haven't updated it. Still, 2-21 is pretty crazy, maybe this 'kind' of deck just isn't for u.
I have removed 1 x Xyrella, 1 x Blademaster Samuro, 1 x Claw Machine, 2 x Wandmaker
I have added 1 x Kazakus (great card in all matchups), 1 x Death's Head Cultist (great against all those aggro decks), 2 x Insight (pulls those important minions and can save your bacon with an early big taunt), 1 x Devouring Plague (great against all those aggro decks especially with Mo'arg Artificer).
Seem to be having more success with these changes.
Seriously, you guys are either liars or crazy lol.
After 30 matches, this deck has a win rate of 40%, like any other priest deck.
Unfortunately there's no point in playing anything but mage, paladin and hunter.
ehh..
https://hsreplay.net/decks/#playerClasses=PRIEST&gameType=RANKED_STANDARD&sortBy=winrate
It has the highest winrate out of priest decks right now. It's definitely not for everyone though, it's harder than most decks to pilot.
"no point" LOL. My guy. Theres no point in stooping to those peoples level just groveling for some extra wins that you DO NOT have to work for. They are spoon fed to you. Imagine having to actually use your brain and properly play a control deck.. xD I spitefully dust my mage, paladin, hunter, shaman, rogue, and demon hunter cards.
Yeah, I'm sorry. I was salty and I take it back. I appreciate you sharing the deck and I know I suck. There might be a trick or two to make it work that well that I'm not seeing.
Super fun deck, feels like the good old days of control priest except I don't have to auto-concede against warlock anymore (definitely not favored but having an actual win-con definitely makes it feel possible.
A few changes I made that (at least against the decks I'm seeing) feel a lot better
-2 Wandmaker for +2 Insight In general I'd rather draw the minions in my deck, since the ones we have are so core to the deck functioning properly, than get some random 1 cost spells (even if they are really good right now). It also narrows down our Raise Dead Pool to only cards that I'm always happy to see (mo'arg being the worst and still pretty damn good if you're in a matchup that requires you to play raise dead before clowns) and leaves us with a pool of minions for Insight to hit (0 mana artificer, 3 mana fordring, 4 mana claw, the only "bad" hit is Colossus, and 7 mana colossus is still nuts.
Also worth mentioning that without the wandmakers Idol of Y'Shaarj is a MUCH better discover off of things like Palm Reading since your only minions without an effect are now Xyrella and Clown, and clown has taunt. And once again, cheating out a Colossus for 6-7 mana is pretty nice.
-1 Claw Machine for +1 Devouring Plague normally I wouldn't ever run 2 plagues, since they're so bad in the late game, but between the popularity of paladin and hunter (and thus the need to ensure that you both draw early game removal AND healing, and plague does both), and the fact that we run Mo'arg Artificer, the plague actually gets a lot better, healing for 8 and clearing midgame boards, it definitely feels more useful on average than claw machine with all the aggro in the meta
(if all you're seeing is warlock and warrior you would probably not swap the claw for the plague, but I'm seeing so many hunters and demon hunters that plague is just too good).
Thanks, I'll make that claw change. I did just get beat by a Neeru warlock.. He had 2 nether's AND 2 of those destroy all cards then cards in deck..
What do you think of this list I've been messing around with? It's not ultra competitive but it is similar and in my opinion more fun. Lets me use those sexy gold primordials. Have had some really nasty turn 6 primordials turn into the opponent instant conceding.

Any Mulligan guide or a how to get started for a beginner? ;)
Like what is my goal and how do i achive that?
Got a Warrior Clown deck but priest is something new for me.
against aggro, spreading plague, mo'arg artificer, Holy Smite, Hysteria, wandmaker (if you didn't swap them out for insights like I did)
Surprisingly, apotheosis is usually a keep against aggro even if you don't have minions in your hand, since we only run 1 and if we stick a minion it can win games.
Also surprisingly, Condemn is usually NOT a keep against aggro, with the except of hunter due to their many 1/1s, and against druid, simply because of how important getting a board clear by turn 5 is (and you're always saving it until turn 5 in that matchup)
Xyrella is ONLY a keep if you also have cheap healing (renew) and against paladin only if you ALSO have a cheap spell (like raise dead) to proc their oh my yogg with first.
Against control, palm reading, xyrella, Taelan fordring, Claw Machine, insight (if you DID swap out the wandmakers like I did)
Against warlock specifically, keep ALL your card draw and always keep clowns (fordring can draw the colossus but we need clowns first) If they don't mill our clowns and we can get at least 2 raise deads off (possibly more with discovers, they don't actually have enough removal to win, so they have to out-tempo you, which unfortunately they're very good at, but if you get your first round of clowns off at a decent health pool you're in a pretty good position.
EDIT: Also just a few general tips
Against aggro, don't be afraid to just slam your mo'arg on 2, even if you don't get to take advantage of its effect, they basically HAVE to trade with it, which often ends up saving you more life than it would have healed for anyway, the effect is really only useful in the late game and we have to actually get their first.
Against midrange/value decks like rush warrior, pay attention to how many threats they still have (for example how many cards did they have in hand when they played conditioning, how many possible buffed minions could they have)? Cards like Gift of Luminance get a lot worst with all their 1/1 rushers, you REALLY need to space out your removal, and keep in mind how much damage they are capable of, how much healing you can kick out, and plan out your turns and choose your discovers carefully. Really think about which removal options you will need LATER and try to work around that so you can save them for when you need them.
Thanks for this, so you like insight more than wandmaker?
Personally yes, though wandmaker is a great card due to the lower pool of 1 drop spells, I believe that between all the warlocks and warriors in the meta I'd rather just draw my own minions
Yeah and speaking of pools it helps unclutter the raise dead pool!
Can you give general mulligan vs control and aggro?
check my reply to Moinster, it covers most of it
Thanks
Brilliant deck. I got from diamond 4 to legendary with it. I'm on 11 wins 3 losses with it. highly recommend it.
What about Lorekeeper Polkelt, In theory Claw Machine it will be easier to pick up Carnival Clown after Scrapyard Colossus
