Hey guys, this is the almighty Murloc Shaman, not too original.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful creation, I packed a Golden Scargil and decided to craft the last few cards, after 15 consecutive wins from rank 5 to 2.
with 88 games in total, I took it to legendary, which puts it at a solid 67% win rate.
The awesome thing about this deck is how consistent it is in every match-up if you know how to pull it off.
UPVOTE LIST
+5 = Short mulligan guide
+10= Comprehensive Class specific mulligan guide
+20= I post a Video on the deck.
- I did not make the video last time, as Blizzard hit me with their nerf hammer... R.I.P Vanish
UPDATE 06/07/19 - Short Mulligan guide
This deck has a couple of ways to go, we are gonna look into some thoughts when you pick your start hand, first does the opponent class have early clear, this determines if you should keep Underbelly Angler or not. Against a warrior, for instance, he will earliest clear it by turn 3, which makes this card great to coin in tour 1. very bad idea on a rouge though.
second is a control match-up or an Aggro match-up
here is a list that roughly gives an idea about what to pick
AGGRO - Sludge Slurper, Voltaic Burst, Murloc Raider, Murloc Tidecaller, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Murloc Tidehunter, occasionally Underbelly Angler and Soul of the Murloc.
CONTROL - Sludge Slurper, Underbelly Angler, Murloc Raider, Toxfin, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Murloc Tidehunter, occasionally, Murloc Tastyfin or Murloc Warleader.
UPDATE 07/07/19 Comprehensive Class specific mulligan guide
Druid - the first one to go wins
Sludge Slurper, Underbelly Angler, Toxfin, Murloc Tidehunter, Soul of the Murloc, Voltaic Burst, Murloc Tidecaller,Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Bluegill Warrior and Coldlight Seer
The key here is to get on the board early, 1/2 has high value as they can trade, rather than being pinged, Murloc Tidecaller, Underbelly Angler, Toxfin, Voltaic Burst, will win, even if you go second.
Hunter - skill-determined
Underbelly Angler, Sludge Slurper, Murloc Tidecaller, Voltaic Burst, Soul of the Murloc, Coldlight Oracle and Hench-Clan Hogsteed.
if they coin Galvanizer Mecharoo then your dead. see if you can get a 2 health minion on the board before your Underbelly Angler to take some early clear.
Mage - easy win
SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP, don't add more than 6 minions, clear golems if you can.
Pick any card under 4 cost and go
Paladin - easy win
Toxfin, Murloc Raider, Underbelly Angler, Murloc Warleader, spirit of the murloc, Murloc Tidecaller, Murloc Tidehunter, Hench-Clan Hogsteed.
get on the board early, if you have the chance to damage an 0/5 egg rather than face do it, don't kill it though, trade on stuff like Galvanizer, and or other unfused mechs.
Priest - rush early or die
Murloc Raider, Murloc Tidecaller,Toxfin, Hench-Clan Thug, Underbelly Angler, Murloc Warleader, Murloc Tidehunter, Bluegill Warrior, Grimscale Oracle
gotta go fast, but don't throw your Underbelly Angler into apower word: pain on a Coin please, I have seen this to often as a priest player.
Rogue - rough
Murloc Tidecaller, Toxfin, Hench-Clan Thug, Murloc Warleader, Murloc Tidehunter, Bluegill Warrior, Soul of the Murloc, Voltaic Burst.
this game depends on how much early clear he has in his start hand, 2xBackstab and your out, same goes for preparation, Fan of Knives.
Shaman - 50/50
Murloc Tidecaller,Toxfin, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Murloc Tidehunter, Bluegill Warrior, Soul of the Murloc, Voltaic Burst, Underbelly Angler, and Coldlight Oracle.
Warlock - the first to go
Murloc Tidecaller, Toxfin, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Murloc Tidehunter, Bluegill Warrior, soul of the murloc, Voltaic Burst, Underbelly Angler, Murloc Raider.
get on the board asap, and go for the face. take good trade as well as carpets
Warrior - 70/30, so it is good.
Underbelly Angler, Sludge Slurper, Toxfin, Murloc Tidecaller, Hench-Clan Hogsteed, Murloc Tidehunter, Soul of the Murloc, Coldlight Seer and occasionally Murloc Tastyfin
warriors 1 cost have 1/2 and 1/3, therefore multiple Toxfin aswell as Murloc Tidecaller is ideal, keep their armor down so they can't slam the Underbelly Angler and go. Underbelly Angler can be played tour 2 under the right circumstances, but after that wait to tour 6-7 IF YOU HAVE 1-cost Murlocs or Ghost Light Angler, this way you won't run out of cards, and chances to discover another angler is increasing radically. Scargill + Murloc Tastyfin is an eminent turn 5
This deck is great til rank 5 and after 5 I'm at about 40% win rate
Well Met! I created a video showcasing this deck. I hope that you will enjoy it and learn something new. Thanks and cheers!
Cool video!
i don't have scargil..is he too important?
Can be played without, as you generate him often anyway, he is awesome though, replace it with snip snap
lately i have Been running snip-snap, instead of Murloc raider 2x
Your mulligan guides include cards that aren't in the deck
Found it!! Thanks :)
This seems to be ridiculously powerful for the current ladder! Not only is it fun, but it actually stands a chance against a lot of the more meta decks so I had an absolute blast playing this! I made a video showcasing the deck in all its glory, I really hope you all enjoy!
not sure what changes to make??
a good rule for changes is to play 10 matches, then look into the win/loses and the classes this occur to, identify easy matches. if you lose against warrior add hagatha...
also what i do to rank is play 30 wins a day, no less no more. this gives a natural break.. on lose streaks go and take a walk or a piss
im using your mulligan guide but i am currently 3wins 4 losses, not sure whats wrong?
cant seem to win against mage at all??
100% agree it's the worst match up, no idea how is it described as an easy win...??? It is basically frost nova, ray of frost, you cant do anything, meet my board of giants...more like SLLAAAAAAAP this deck.
I can literally recall every lost game against mage I had, as it happened twice, 1 vs kolento 1 batteriff... ofc you lose if you play you angler into a frostball, to be fair to win against a mage requires you to play mage a lot..
1. fill your board
2. buff or generate more
3. dont but more than 5 minions on the board, (to have play flexibility and buff on frost novas)
GL
Trying this deck out, stuck at rank 10/11, hopefully i can climb further. Wish me luck!!
good luck on the milestone push!!
need some to make some changes, suggest any?
+10! Time for the comprehensive mulligan guide :P
coming right up sir!
