Hi guys!
BananZabójca from Poland here. After 6 months of break from Hearthstone I came back, already with some good ideas for wild.
As I see Secret Mage at the moment is not a one of the top played decks in wild, so try it out.
[91% WR] Burn Secret Mage
With this decklist I've got a 91% win ratio (21-2) playing from rank 14 to 5. It is an powerful deck against most of the top ladder decks: Big Priest, Odd Rogue, Pirate Warrior, Murloc Shaman, blah blah blah...
The idea of playing of this deck is to use secrets synergy, stay behind the Ice Block and than burn your opponent with Fireball, Frostbolt and Ice Lance (which they don't expect).
You have here also another useful cards like Loatheb (strong against fe. Big Priest), Aluneth (ultra-draw) or Masked Contender (works better than I thought before).
Mulligan
Always keep Arcanologist, Mad Scientist and Kirin Tor Mage.
If you have some of above:
- you may keep a Kabal Lackey, keep it also in aggro matchups,
- if you want keep Aluneth,
- keep Loatheb against Exodia Mage.
Useful tips:
- Keep Frostbolt to use it together with Ice Lance into the face of opponent,
- Instead of Frostbolt use Forgotten Torch,
- if your opponent doesn't have any minions on the board and you don't good play, just throw Forgotten Torch into his face, than you'll have a possibility to draw Roaring Torch,
- most of the time it is better to play in turn 1 a Kabal Lackey without a secret,
- never play Counterspell if your opponent is holding a Coin,
- turn 1 Coin+Mad Scientist, turn 2 Arcanologist, turn 3 Kirin Tor Mage+Secret (favorable Explosive Runes), turn 4 Kabal Crystal Runner is a perfect scenario,
- most of the time it is better to deal 1 damage and kill an opponent's minion with Medivh's Valet than use a hero power,
- in earlier turns it is better to play Explosive Runes than Potion of Polymorph,
- never concede.
Gameplay + GIVEAWAY!
kiwiinbacon made a gameplay video about this deck, enjoy!
Update (20.06.2019)
I'm so happy that with your help my deck is again (after 6 months) on the homepage of Hearthpwn. Because of the upvotes I added a mulligan guide and some useful tips.
At the moment I'm experiencing some technical difficulties with Hearthstone and Battle.net (I can't run the game on my PC) so I can't add any proof or gameplay.
Update (21.06.2019)
You can already find some stats of this deck at hsreplay.net!
At the moment overall win rate of this deck is 65,2%.
Averange match takes 5,5 minute.
Only bad matchups are hunter and paladin.
In comments I've got a lot of questions about Aluneth - I recommend to craft it. Stats says that you win 72,7% times when you play this card.
If you don't have enough dust you can try to play Primordial Glyph or Bloodmage Thalnos
Update (24.06) >>> NUDES!!!
"I'm late! I'm late!" Hello people. During last days I was a bit busier than usually and I hadn't enough time to post an update.
I added a gameplay of kiwiinbacon to the guide.
Also as I promised you can enjoy Kabal Crystal Runner nudes in the spoiler. Trust me that it was so difficult to get!

Hi, since I'm using your deck I went up to rank 5 in Wild for the first time and I thank you. With the new version (the adventurers of Uldum) little-tone still improved the deck?
Thanks for the deck! Easy rank 5. I missed the good old secret mage.
Oh good old secret mage... Solid Deck for the ladder . But where is the fun? :-)
What is the best way to play Aluneth in this deck?
Like which turn? And numbers on hand? And how to manage the cards drawn.
Just would like to hear players view on this.
You should play Aluneth only if you control the board and you're safe. If you keep the preasure or you're close to kill enemy it may be better to play some other card for tempo. Of course if you don't have any other card to play it is always good to play it.
You may also play Aluneth if enemy already is controlling the board, you stay behind Ice Block and you decide to go "all in" into BURN TACTIC :)
Thank you!
This deck make me wanna play some serious hearthstone, not just only fun decks in rank 20-15 :D
Aaaand finally I take rank 5 with this deck 27-12 (+2disconnects) and your Oil Pirate Rogue deck!
+1000 I'll create a Heartpwn2 side !
Everything is possible ;)
Hi guys!
I added also my gameplay, inside the video you'll find also a giveaway!
I'm very sorry for a bad quality, but something went wrong when I was uploadind the video into Youtube and the quality is reduced from 1080HD to 360... :(
Sorry people!
As I promised, I uploaded "nudes" but Moderator delated the image and I've got a warn for pornography.
If you like giveaways I also invite you to Oil Pirate Rogue decklist where I'm giving away Patches the Pirate eye patch!
This deck (so far) has taken me from 19 to 5 in a little over 1 day or ranked play... thank you!!
I'm so happy that you enjoy this deck! Good luck on the road to legend!
Is there any recommended replacement for Loatheb? I’m trying to build cyclone quest mage and only have enough dust right now to build 1 legend. I’m getting frustrated with the amount of Big Priest I’m finding. I have Bloodmage Thalnos, Mojomaster Zihi, and Leeroy Jenkins among other things like Sorcerers Apprentice and Primordial Glyph, or maybe another secret to throw off people playing around them. Any recommendation would be great as long as it isn’t legendary.
I made a list similar to this to start playing wild when I realized there were so many tempo/burn synergies in wild. I had Aluneth from tempo mage in standard (my first deck ever) and so the deck was a cheap craft. I’d never made it past rank 11 in standard but I got all the way to 12 in Wild before I lost my win streak without even knowing most cards from before Un’Goro, let alone the meta.
I highly recommend this deck or even a budget version of it for anybody looking to climb the low ranks fast. Not counting my first few Casual matches I played to get a feel for the deck, I hit 13 with this with only two losses (the first loss was only my second match so the whole climb was a win streak). The win streak ended when I played against Exodia Mage, and I could’ve won but I didn’t know about the combo at the time so I played right into their game plan.
In my opinion Loatheb is one of the first legends whick I'll recommend you to craft if you decide to play wild. He plays in most of the decks to counter enemy's spells, is a tempo play and useful in many situations.
At the moment he is so great against any kind of Mage, Big Priest and combo/control decks.
Anyway, if you don't like to craft him now, you may subsitute him in this deck by Thalnos or Glyph.
Best regards!
Just got wrecked by a Secret Paladin. Not sure if I played wrong or got unlucky, but first game in 10 games that I've lost and it was by a mile.
Keep calm, on the higher ranks I didn't play against any Secret Paly.
Great deck m8! I'm zooming up the ranks, have not faced anything that can handle the aggro + secret combos + counterspell ofc!, lost 2 but won like 15 so far :) !!!
Good job bigman! Keep it going! ;)
anyone playing this above rank 3? Went from 5 to 3 today with this
At the moment I'm playing this Rogue deck. Just a moment ago I was playing against somebody with this Secret Mage. So my final response is: YES, some people are climbing legend with that (I met this guy at rank 3).
P.S. It is a great experience to lose against somebody who is playing a deck which was created by yourself xd
