I've always loved pogo rogue and finally set myself the challenge to perfect the deck and go from rank 5 to legend with it. After I managed to hit this goal a lot of people asked me questions about the deck and how to play it, so here is a full guide that hopefully covers everything you need to know! I went from rank 5 to rank 2 with a 70%wr, but that final push through rank 1 took quite a while lowering the winrate back to 56% (which is still pretty good for a deck like pogo rogue at such high level). I played over 200 games with the deck and decided to do a full in-depth and detailed guide on how to play pogo rogue properly after the buffs (I also made one before the buffs). The whole journey was streamed live on twitch and I'll upload example matchups as well. If you need to know anything from card/deck choices, comparisons, playstyle, winconditions, matchups, mulligans... Everything is explained in the video. For any further questions just leave a comment down below or on the video. Thanks for your time and have fun!
What do I replace Vanish with?
now disparition is gone , we replace that card with ?
What do you think about replacing myra's unstable element with Gral, the shark?
they're both very different.. gral is very slow and will low-roll quite often, while filling your hand and putting yourself into fatigue is a way better effect in this deck.
This is by far the best pogo guide I have seen. The in depth detail is exactly what I needed to help me out. I just started playing hearthstone again and this deck does really good on ladder. I’m happy I came across this guide on YouTube
thanks for the kind words :) hope the climb goes well!
🐸 • Congratulations on having arrived at the legendary. You have to believe in the deck and play a lot and you did it.
Thanks, there is definitely a long and steep learning curve
I've been playing this deck for around a week now, fun fact, it's my first rogue deck played since Rumble. Now I play on EU and have been encountering token druids and midrange hunters that get me all the time, no matter what I do. Is replacing something with maybe a fan viable?
If that's really all you're facing, getting rid of jepetto for a fan seems fine. Although, maybe you just have to change the way you pilot the deck, getting a lot of use out of carpets, lackeys and zilliax to win against those decks instead of pogo's. I could take a look at some games to see if you could've done anything different if you think that can help
Yea I started keeping Zilliax in the mulligan with token druid, but I couldn't build up enough power before I could really use it (talking about a 1/1 pogo with zilli on top). Maybe I should keep the carpets or Zilliax more often in those matchups or Backstab + Miscreant?
Would Tak Nozwisker be a decent replacement for Barista Lynchen? At least until I can craft Barista Lynchen?
Nothing really replaces barista, it has such a unique effect and is way more flexible, and can be played in the early game. Tak is way greedier and more late-game. I'd add in some draw (like fan of knives) or an SI-agent instead, until you can afford barista. Fun fact: according to the hsreplay stats of this deck, barista has the highest played winrate!
i don't have Jeppetto, what about replace it with Tak?
replacing it with tak seems fine, is just a bit slower vs aggro but definitely a viable switch.
Hiya
Fantastic deck!!! Just took it for a little run as is in casual, 100%, love the carpet big pogo board clearing bounceback rush. Very fun to play, and although I have not mastered it, nowhere close, I chuckle when I imagine opps' faces as yet another pogo bounces back!!!
haha glad to hear you're enjoying it. Carpet is definitely underrated!
Why not fan of knives?
it's explained in the video! I rather play cards like carpet etc that deal with their boards rather than play fan that's only good with prep, which is not as good anymore.. otherwise it's too slow for just cycle and too situational to be good removal.
