Big Boy School is a deck that aim to use pseudo-ramp in the form of leveraging health as a resource and also cards held in hand.
Mainly you want to tap every turn to get out a Mountain Giant asap while at the same time, lowering your health to follow up with free Molten Giant's and a Faceless Shambler
Also we have Hooked Reaver which can be dropped before your moltens if you have not lowered your health enough.
other plays such as Twilight Drake + Sunfury Protector are optimal stalls.
Really you ought to be playing this like tempo deck, trying to get out your big boys asap and close out the game before your opponent can react or simply just build up too many big boy taunts for them to be able to break through (it's worth noting that devolve does nothing to a taunted up Molten Giant as well.
I will write an in depth guide for this if it gets 5 likes. I know it's harder to get likes on wild decks so the bar is a lot lower here.
PS: ragnaros the fire lord should be added if you face a lot of control. Mojomaster Zihi is here for the same reason, but I find mojomatser zihi to be far more impactful than rag in general so that's why I tend to run one and not the other.
In an aggro meta you are much better off with cards like Doomsayer and Shadowflame
when I built this no one was using DK or lich. I will check them out, but I need to refresh my head as I've not played in a few months. sorry for leaving you waiting this long mate.
yeah dude. sorry I was on a hiatus.
This deck definitely falls in to the "it's just so crazy, it might work"-category, and it does it fabulously.
I was skeptical at first, but I decided to go ahead and craft the last few cards I needed to be able to make this deck, and it has easily become one of the most entertaining and clever decks I've ever played. It's kinda the same principle as my Murloc Paladin OTK deck with the High Priest Thekal+Molten Giant turn 2/3 combo, except this is just three times the amount of giants, and without the pesky murlocs fiddling about. Definitely well worth the dust I spent on it.
One thing I was wondering though, is that the Standard version of this deck contains not only The Lich King, but also Bloodreaver Gul'dan - Did you leave them out on purpose or did you simply not have the cards? Or are you actually covering this in the guide you're writing, so I should just be patient?
You've already reached 5 upvotes, does that mean the guide is coming?
When are You using Mojomaster ?
mojo is only there as anti control tech. not really needed if I'm honest, but it's an open space pretty much.
you could take a second doomsayer or shadowflame instead.
basically you would normally have mojo and ragnaros and only 1 doomsayer and no shadowflame in a control heavy meta.
for basic climbing where there's far more aggro you are better off with doomsayer and shadowflame, it's just you have to pick which one you want 2 of.
I simply added Zihi as a just in case for when games go on longer so I can starve decks of that late game mana. This deck doesn't need the mana as it doesn't have big drops like gul'dan and lich king so can afford it.
If you don't have Zihi I wouldn't advise you to craft it just for this. she is a good minion though to have if you do have spare dust lying around. She's the only legendary I have crafted from the new expac so far.
so to actually answer your question. ha ha.
I would play Zihi when it was most opportune. You really would want to cut someone off from their mana so ideally I would think you would want to play Zihi later on.
She is great for messing with decks like OTK paladin as you can lock them out of their combo.
You have to think what the opponent can do with their available mana, and if playing zihi will disrupt their turn enough to change the outcome of the game.
I think she is quite versatile in the right kind of game, but she's pretty useless against aggro decks as they don't need a lot of mana. she really begins to shine against combo and control decks. probably combo decks more so or "big" decks that need a lot of mana to play their stuff.
I've not actually gotten to use her a lot TBH. I usually use Loatheb for this sort of role (but he's odd) She was perfect to mess with ramp druids, but they have all but disappeared now. I did get to use her on one in standard though last week and they conceded. (I let them ramp up for a few turns then dropped zihi on curve I think, they just quit the next turn)
I have started to write the guide. Say +8 likes and I will publish the entire thing tonight. (8 is my favourite number)
Anti aggro version, also extremely cheap with only 1 legendary.
however when you hit rank 5-legend you may want to start teching in the zihi and ragnaros once you start to see fewer aggro decks.
having a load of fun with this deck right now. like it way more than the one I played in standard last year. doesn't need all that expensive top end this way.
