Its weird to see that two different control shaman decks could have such a different set of cards, yet have the same win conditions. I like that someone got it to such a high rank
edit: I noticed it auto loses vs any combo deck. Either accept the loss or maybe try to add Mojomaster Zihi, although it is still difficult vs combo nevertheless
Brilliantly fun deck, playing it 100% control so far I've played against a few Warrior Quest (sometimes even reaching exhaustion and still winning), Aggro and BigSpell Mage with (One of them > BigSpell with Jaina on turn 11 and won regardless), Spell Hunter (More times than I can count, every point of health matters, I've won 2 games with just 1 health remaining), Rogue, Paladin, Lock, MechaLock, Priests,...
The deck has room to breathe, with the amount of value you generate you can afford not to be super efficient in order to stay alive, not a greedy deck at all and VERY fun to play, I'd say my stats are 18-3 so far.
Don't give up regardless of the state of the game, this deck is capable of MAJOR swings, with so many resources RNG ends up declining in your favor even if its at the 5th attempt, in fact one of my losses was against a full board where I thought I could not survive, Overloaded by 4 with 6 mana I concluded that there was no way I could survive unless Zentimo + Haunting Visions gave me some miracle. Sadly with 0 mana a Haunting Visions' generated Volcano that would've saved my ass if I had decided to play Zentimo after HV showed up, be kind to this deck, play patiently trust RNG, more often than not there's always a response or a misplay from your opponent due to the heavy RNG you're always dishing out.
I'd encourage anyone that has the cards to play it, it is SUPER fun.
nice deck. but i keep looking at it wondering where the single Fire Fly fits in.. and also what is best replacement for Elise?
Fire fly can help vs aggro and it's good with hagatha.
It's kinda difficult to replace elise because she's a great value generator. You could try to replace her with another value generator that works with shudderwock, with more defensive stuff (mc-tech, second rain of toads) or with the second haunting visions I guess
FireFly in your opening hand gives you some room to breathe, later with Agatha it translates into 2+ Cards, even more cards paired with the +2/+2 to Elementals that very often gets generated by Agatha. Shudderwork later on allows you to clean the board and gives you back that extra elemental which translates in a 10 mana X/6 Divine Shield + 1/2 Elemental
I feel it needs mct in there and something to push with shudder as dk rexxar os too much played on 6 till fatigue or just lich king....but overall it a beautiful deck to exist nevertheless since our lord savior shudder got nerfed it an okish replacement....i guess..
This deck is so fun to play. The only bad thing is that I'm too stupid to play it
so it's a purely value oriented control Shaman?
Anybody know what matchup he specifically targetted with this? I'd imagine Hunters with Shudderwock as an answer to Zul'jin that refills your hand, or maybe against Even Paladin.
Other than that I'm not really sure what the point is?
Like others sayd he made the deck for a tournament. That is filled with even warlock ,dragon Priest , Even Paladin ,Secret Hunter hence the 2 x sillence against Blessing of kings buff/Stegodon buff/Twilight Drake/ Hooked Reaver/Dire Frenzy buff . He is also not playing Mind control tech because in tournaments people play around it so it becomes just a plain 3/3 drop .
Its an awesome deck against those 4 and he was the only 1 bringing something new to counter the competition so well done
The problem is how do you beat mage? You don't
This was made with a strategy for a tournament format in mind, not ladder. It's a completely different ball game. Besides no deck is good against everything, and mage makes up around 8% of all decks in standard across all ranks, so not really a huge deal.
where do you play? because at rank 5 i face tons
In standard rank 4 to rank 1, 5.6% of decks are mages. This is a stat taken from the Vicious Syndicate meta report released 6 days ago, so pretty reliable I would say, because they have a fairly large sample size. Maybe the usage of mage has increased a little over the past week, but that's usually only a couple of percentage points at best (you can check the website in a couple of days and check if the number changed more than that). Personally, I am also on rank 5 and I've only played 3 in the 30-something games I played this season, so the number checks out for me. Obviously deviation from the averages is possible, so that's what probably happened to you, but that would be an exception. There really aren't many mages on ladder right now.
no kragwa zentimo and electra
Peanut shaman
more like wallet-shaman, i like i though
Legendaries from all 6 expansions in Standard! I wonder if that's happened before (as in, it finished top 4 in a major tournament).
And only four cards from the basic/Classic set. Madness!
Sure it's got legendaries from all sets and hardly has any classic cards. What's really crazy though, really mind-blowingly insane, is that it mainboards Rain of Toads.
