The funny thing is that they printed a very strong card to support Spell Hunter (Zul'jin) and 4 months later To My Side!, Rhok'delar, Flanking Strike, Deathstalker Rexxar and Lesser Emerald Spellstone will rotate out, leaving the archetype shattered and broken. Zul'jin is strong but by no means it is able to carry games on its own like the Death Knight.
You can add Secret Plan.
I run 2 secret plans and love them. Very handy for a turn 1 play which gives you a turn 2 play as well.
Now go try it without To My Side!
I took out 1 Candleshot and added 1 The Beast Within works fine now.
The Beast Within is a weak card, much better options out there. Candleshots are too good vs Odd Paladin not to run two copies.
Zul'jin is so fun haha! Literally one of the best cards in the game I can't believe it! Spell Hunter was already decent and now it has Zul'Jin it has to be a top tier deck!!! PogChamp
Yes he will :)
it's been quite good so far, at least i havent been wishing for something else when it shows up. it seems to synergize well and the 5/5 means they have to find an answer. flanking, into baited into by my side has been very effective when it goes off.
Interesting, though I still have my doubts. Imo better choices out there.
Is Rhokdelar essential? It's the only card I don't have.
you really do want rhok for this deck being able to refill your hand and generate more food for Zuljin is just really nice
Essential - no, but it's a very high power card. That said both DK and Zul'jin are "more essential."
Back in the day I got Rok'Delar as my free legendary weapon and Rexxar as one of the 2 free Death Knights. At that point I created a full spells hunter that went nowhere.
Today I was shocked to see my decks being pummeled by full spell hunters, and felt so happy... but still don't understand how this gets a different result from my old deck.
So far 71% win rate at rank 9 with a different version but very similar. I removed Rexxar, Unleash the hounds and added a Deadly shot and secret plan.
Zuljin has won me many games since a lot of the times my component just concedes since they exhausted all their board clears.
I agree with the inclusion of Deadly Shot and Secret Plan, in fact I run 2 copies of both. I also don't run Unleash, though I might still experiment given the trouble that Odd Paladin has given me. DK Rexxar though is way too good to drop.
This deck feels really good to play! I feel like it enhances the already good spell hunter deck list and brings it to a more competitive level.
Zul'jin is absolutely ridiculous in terms of value and overall the deck is awesome to pilot. I definitely recommend to anyone that wanna have a great time as a hunter.
I made a video showcasing the deck, including some nice Zul'jin action, I really hope you all enjoy!
Zul'jin actually won me the game! I needed to play more games to use him but when I did it was certainly a lot of fun!
I dont know about the responses so far since a lot of ppl are saying that they cant defeat anything- I even won against a zoo warlock and also against DR hunter which is in the video bellow. I will definitely play more with this since I always loved the concept of spell hunter and Zul'jin makes everything even more fun
You can check out the gameplay bellow - 1:30 for the start of the game and 11:25 for the Zul'jin play.. so much fun man :D
Language, dude...
