Update (1/10) - Finally crafted Lock and Load so I added it in place of Ball of Spiders.  I also wanted to get Baited Arrow into the deck so I removed Dart Trap.  Still testing this build to see if it's an improvement though...

Update (9/18) - Swapped out Quick Shot for Putricide and have been liking the move.  You muddy your Stitched Tracker odds a bit (still looking for Zola or Reno), but Putricide demands attention and you'll typically have secrets later in the game due to Subject 9.

I feel like I should also just stress that this is a deck meant for having fun as a Hunter...so long as you define fun as playing long games where you get to use most of your deck mechanics and build a bunch of beasts.  I don't play much Ranked in Wild so I started at the bottom, but in the past day or so I've gone from 25 to 20 with a high win percentage...though this really means nothing (other than that I didn't pick cards for the deck at random) and I'll let y'all know the point at which it starts getting stomped by OTK and aggro on a regular basis.

Hello world,

I missed playing with Reno Jackson and Yogg-Saron, Hope's End so I made this deck and have been enjoying it in casual.  The basic strategy uses secrets early, death knight late, and Yogg whenever you want to watch the world burn.

Mulligan targets:

General approach is to always keep the spellstone + a secret or two that are tailored to the opponent's most likely/dangerous early game moves.  After that you're looking for something like animal companion or stitched tracker to play on Turn 3 (depending on whether you're expecting an aggressive or control style of play).

General strategies:

  • Stitched Tracker's more consistent due to the low number of minions, but this also makes playing it early while minions are in the deck a priority.  My primary target is Zola the Gorgon, but I'll also choose Reno Jackson if I'm playing against aggro or Arcane Giant if I'm playing against control.  If I don't get Stitched Tracker until later, I'll sometimes double up on Yogg for optimal chaos.
  • The reason for targeting Zola with Stitched Tracker is its versatility.  In the late game your targets are typically copying Reno for even more heals or Arcane Giant to put the pressure on (it's typically in the 3 cost range by turn 9 or 10).  Alternatively, you can copy one of your build-a-beasts.  An underappreciated benefit from Zola is the ability to regain Reno or Yogg if they get pulled out with a Dirty Rat.
  • Card draw is an issue (as is Hunter tradition) so Subject 9 is included along with Flare.  In addition, there's card generation through Ball of Spiders, Stitched Tracker, Zola, and the Deathknight.

Possible alterations:

  • Quick Shot is a replacement target because you only rarely get the card draw (you'll be holding onto Reno and Yogg for awhile once you get them).  I've kept it in for now as it still works well with Hunter's Mark or as a bit of finishing face damage.  But I'm sure some people would like to get Tracking into the deck and replacing Quick Shot might be the way.
  • I'm not the biggest Tracking fan and would rather get Professor Putricide into the deck given all the secrets.  Alternatively I could see adding another card generating piece that could also be a Zola target such as Elise the Trailblazer or Harrison Jones

Let me know if you try it out or have any ideas for optimizing the fun.
