The general strategy of this deck is to complete your quest early, play Barnabus, draw into your cards like Malygos (obviously), Faceless Manipulator, Prince Taldaram, and Ixlid, Fungal Lord, and make multiple copies of Malygos and burst with Moonfires, Swipes, and the almighty Ultimate Infestation, if possible. Cursed Disciple and Corridor Creeper are the main ways you will finish the quest, and Ixlid, Fungal Lord doubles as a way to finish the quest much quicker by doubling up on either of those two minions. Lastly, Malfurion the Pestilent, Twig of the World Tree, and Kun the Forgotten King allow you to pull games out of your hat by preserving your life, dealing with the board, and refreshing your mana for bigger Malygos turns.
You could sub out Prince Taldaram if you don't like Oaken Summons potentially pulling him. Jade Blossom, Spreading Plague, and Dark Arakkoa are all good replacements. Or, if you feel like being a real manly man, try Magma Rager.
Really fun deck especially when you get those 31 damage moonfires, however it's just too slow against even slightly aggro decks in the current meta. Imagine if innervate was never nerfed :_(
The deck CAN be teched against aggro, it just has less late game potential and the quest becomes harder to pull off. Cutting Kun and Taldaram for maybe two Ironwood Golems is a start. They're independently not amazing but they're the best value defense you can pull from Oaken Summons. Keep in mind, however, that this does drop the chance to pull out Cursed Disciples, but you can easily make up for that against Keleseth Rogue and Aggro Paladin with Corridor Creepers in hand. Your Quest is often how you'll win games but if you can comfortably predict a deck will absolutely be aggro you can reasonably mulligan it. I wouldn't recommend climbing the ladder with this deck since it requires a lot of decision making, but it really is fun to play. I've had pretty reasonable success against Control Warlock, so there's that.
Pre-nerf Innervate was straight up broken but I do miss it. :(
