Best 1-drop minion in Arena. Trades into almost every relevant 2-drop, and can fight off a Paladin's hero power for three turns.
With a control deck, topdecked it might just be a 2/3, needless to say...it's usually used in decks that try to control the board and not try to get the opponents health to 0 as fast as possible.
In the really really lategame, when you and your opponent are almost going to fatigue, could be annoying to top deck. But those matches are rare.
Favourite card out of Naxx (egg aside). This automatically should replace Argent Squire in whatever deck runs them. The tempo you can get out of this card is incredible.
I like the fact that Zombie Chow can work as 3rd and 4th Mind Blast (just imagine turn 6 - Chow, Chow, Auchenai, Circle)...
And imagine with Baron Rivendare, that could do 10 damage per Chow...
yeap. the dream
I can't tell how good this is. It's an aggressively costed creature that they actually don't want to kill immediately. Although, #2Cr0wL0ck's post makes me wonder if this card might make an aggressive priest deck actually good based on that interaction. Baron Rivendare could also interact with Leaper Gnome, Loot Hoarder and/or Harvest Golem.
But the thing is if you don't get at least 5 points to the hero, you have probably just been wasting a card. I can, however, see this possibly replacing Flame Imp... No I can't.
I see this possible replacing argent squire.
The total combo takes up 9 mana and 3 different cards though.
True, but Baron is pretty beefy for 3. If you play him the turn prior with nothing on the board I don't think your opponent is going to care much (yet).
It's more about the synergy then hoping for the combo.
actually it is 4 cards since you need circle to kill your own Chow :-) but on the other and with 5 cards it can be:
Auchenai, Chow, Chow, Rivendare, Circle for 3/1, 1/3 and 20 face damage on turn 10
one of the two, even three op cards with Haunted Creeper and maybe Nerubian Egg
This card is definitely useful for people playing Auchenai Soulpriest, but that's about the only time you'd see him. That and maybe with a Wailing Soul to silence him.
This is true.
But, later in the game this card would be useless for zoo if the deck has no silence and even then the card is a waste of a silence when you could save it for a taunt to obtain kill shot.
Wrong. You will see this card a lot. Healing your opponent for 5 when he's already at 30 isn't a very big deal (since you will want to play this card very early). Even if you get it later on or after your opponent has already lost life, sometimes the 5 hp you give to your opponent is worth the 2/3 on board when it can help secure board presence.
