And this other Vanish does fit the Rogue identity? I hope you realize that doesn't make any sense.
For those that thought the previous Rogue hero wasn't annoying enough.
It is a good midrange/tempo/control card. Good nothing crazy, I doubt that this card has a sufficient power level for wild.
Anyway, I like it and I will craft it in gold.
Everybody complaining about Vanish and how broken it was AND then saying this card is broken, because Vanish was broke, is… just… stupid (sorry). Vanish was removed because it didn‘t fit rogues identity. AOE
Vanish was not broken. I think nobody said that. Blizzard puts it in wild because didn't want rogue with strong AOE for class identity.
broken ass fuck
unpopular opinion: I think this card will see a decent amount of play, but it's really not that great. It reminds me of Voljin a lot: hero card with really good battlecry, but meh hero power that actually downgrades your previous one. (Voljin was typically run in the same deck as Deathstalker Rexxar and would ruin the hero power in exchange for the amazing battlecry) Guys, the hero power isn't good. I play a lot of rogue and you don't need tempo plays when you get past 8 mana. You're either trying to deal like 8 damage of reach with a board state that's impossible for you to retake, or youre trying to outvalue your opponent. This hero power is anti-value and doesnt help you deal damage to the opponent. Ironically, id argue that this hero power is worse than 2 mana 1 damage a turn. Obviously, if you could start the game with this, it'd be broken, but getting this late game is actually a nerf to your normal hero power. That being said, the battlecry is really strong and will be frustrating to play against. This card like I said, will be played a lot, but it wont actually be that good and will prolly see play in a poison rogue deck with the shank, but will be phased out of most rogue decks after 2 weeks.
I didn't like Voljin much... I liked his relative Zul'Jin much better. That recast of the spells was fun.
It fits right into Garrote Rogue and in case you didn't know that deck didn't lose a step with the nerfs. In fact once down this card makes it near impossible to beat the Garrote rogue especially when they are discounting it and dropping WELL before 7.
This makes the Mr. Smite OTK combo easier to pull off, and stalls so you can get to it. It's insane in a combo deck.
oops lol, good find there
I see cards like this and it has me like:
Hearthstone Meta 2024: *Neutral 2 mana 10/10 with charge and wind fury* “Yeah it’s an interesting concept but I don’t really foresee it seeing play other than in niche strategies because the games over by turn 0 anyways.”
Yeesh... The current devs in charge of HS are really trying to kill the game... This, the basically nonexistent time between the mini pack and this expansion, charge once again returning... It's like the old Team 5 left a note on the fridge saying "Now we removed Charge-themed cards and Vanish because they did very naughty things that limited gameplay." and the new blood used said note as toilet paper.
I totaled up the rewards for playing this.
1 Vanish - 6 mana
2 Jungle Panther - 6 mana
1 Iron Hide - 1 mana
2 Innervate - 2 mana each turn
You get 15 mana for playing a 7 mana card, and 2 more free mana each turn.
IIt Was because of class identity. But print the same effect again it's a little bit inconsistent.
This card is not a late game card. It will see play in quick combo decks and agro. It removes taunt, sets you up to do 8 damage next turn and lets you play more cards in a single turn. Because of the hero power, it is essentially a 5 mana card that you have to wait until turn 7 to play. 5 mana to return all cards to hand, summon 2 4/2 stealth minions, gain armor, and upgrade your hero power. It will see play as long as there aren't decks that will consistently kill you even more quickly.
I don't like it, I think it's broken. Vanish left the game for a reason, because it's a toxic mechanic. Hope I'm wrong
I don’t think Blizzard removed Vanish from standard because it’s broken. I think Blizzard removed Vanish because it prevented them from printing new cards like this…specifically, cards you don’t get for free.
But for vanish to work, the board must have minions, if vanish works that means the game was fixed from "win from hand". And that is good.
Card art looks familiar. Can't quite put my finger on it...
