Why would you want your opponent to draw cards ? Mage has no Mill deck.
Thinking about it Astromancer Solarian into Teron Gorefiend into Conjurer's Calling wouldn't be a bad curve. Would be hard to pull off with only one copy of each card, though.
At last a decent legendary for Mage. It's not OP and has a good potential of being a finisher or swing the match in your favor. This will see play.
How good is a randomly cast Mage spell that can only target enemies? The answer is, almost always a good thing. Let's break them down by effect, shall we? (for Standard post-rotation, only known cards - no way I'm doing this for Wild)
Assuming Mage gets 4 spells this expansion, the odds of getting a Conjurer's Calling in Standard is around 13.8%. Wild has a lower 12.2% chance of getting either card which can be detrimental to you if cast on an enemy minions (Polymorph: Boar).
And for those curious, the odds of getting a Puzzle Box in Standard is the same as Conjurer's, at ~13.8%. For Wild, you're looking at a 6.2% chance.
You mean like how the original character was? She was a mage wearing this set. I think the fail is your comment dude.
The artwork for this is incredible and am happy they are doing all of the Tempest Keep raid bosses, that was one of my favorite places back in Burning Crusade. Am 100% crafting a gold version of this. Hopefully Void Reaver is just as amazing.
The Blood Elf Council's battlecry makes you wait 45 mins until phase 2 starts while you try to rush through TK farming for A'lar mounts
Mage card, but the hero has warlock t4. Already fail
Two most exciting things for me in expansion:
1. Duplicate protection
2. Controlled randomness- "...targets enemies if possible"
/ respect
*It suddenly casts healing/buff spells*
this is why they choose Mage spells only
Amazing legendary, auto include in any tempo mage and also probably on highlander builds. The fact that you can't pyroball your own face is fantastic lol it's obviously random but mage has mostly decent spells and now that you can't hit your own stuff win single removal makes this pretty nutty.
The illustration is nicely detailed, seems almost non-hearthstone.
Very bad RNG-based legendary.
In pull will be (after rotation) Conjurer's Calling and Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron , cards which can help your opponent.
...and useless cards (in round 7+) Raid the Sky Temple (if will be in pool) , Ancient Mysteries , Elemental Allies , Arcane Explosion , Arcane Missiles , Icicle
Situational cards like Secrets and Tome of Intellect are for discusion.
The quest most likely won't be in the pool. Arcane Explosion and Icicle are both lowrolls but still do 2 damage to all minions and 3 to a random enemy minion. Secrets will always benefit you. No matter what lowroll spell you might get, you're still more likely than not, with FIVE spells, to get one that's influential.
So...no. Not bad.
Only Conjurer's Calling helps your opponent. Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron can swing either way.
Every other card you mentioned is either completely neutral or marginally good for you. Seriously, having Arcane Explosion and Arcane Missiles fire off is not something I'd complain about, seeing as its coming of a 7/7 body with spell damage. Yes, that spell damage helps those "useless" cards.
Considering you are casting 5 spells, what are the chances that you'll get screwed over more than one time? Super low. What are the chances that at least 2 spells will help? Think aoes, direct damage spells you can target, value generation. A pretty high chance.
This is not bad. The odds are heavily in favor of the spells, overall, helping you. Not to forget the fact that you're left with a 7/7 body with spell damage after the fact as well.
The only bad rolls are Conjurer's Calling (if your opponent has minions) and Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron I think. Most of the spells with possible negative effects rotated, like Book of Specters. I think it's insane, specially in a Highlander deck.
The best card for me right now
Cast Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron 5 times
Hope it will cast draw spells for your opponent too. Not only damage spells at your enemies, if it is like that WOW.
Also amazing work on art, damn. Love the face that is creating illusion of a skull.
EDIT: Also in Wild with Brann this is basically better Puzzle Box, the damaging spells and freezes targets your enemies and you get 2/4 and 7/7 with, Spell Damage 1+.
