Hearthstone Reddit Reaches 1 Million Subs - Blizzard Runs A Giveaway
To celebrate /r/hearthstone reaching a million subscribers, Blizzard is giving away free stuff! Note, in order to enter you need to have a reddit account that was created BEFORE the giveaway started on April 29.
Here's the stuff that is being given away:
- Art of Hearthstone book (6 total)
- Hearthstone Women's Wallet (2 total)
- Hearthstone Men's Wallet (1 total)
- Hearthstone Scarf (1 total)
- Hearthstone t-shirt (7 total, not sold on the Gear Store)
- Hearthstone hoodie (8 total, not sold on the Gear Store)
To enter all you need to do is leave a top-level comment (respond to thread, not someone in the thread). Here's the full rules. You have until 12 PM PDT (3 PM EDT, 9PM CEST) on May 1st to enter, so just over 24 hours from this post.
Good luck and congratulations to /r/hearthstone for hitting the milestone. Interesting note, /r/wow hit the same million subscriber milestone just days before.
No packs.....no interest.
Wtf my country is not legible. Unsub.
My wallet has a really bad look, but all I really need is an Art of Hearthstone book.
Hoodie would be nice too, all I've ever played was zoo.
EVIL Genius
They are giving away wallet that will automatically exchange all your money to hearthstone packs
If this was two men's wallets and one women's wallet, would people be triggered about inequality across genders?
It's neat that they're giving away some stuff, but this prize pool is pretty comical. Sure, I'm complaining about "free stuff" but it seems a little pitiful.
Eh nothing there that I care for.
"ALL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE AS WELL AS ANY COSTS AND EXPENSES
ASSOCIATED WITH ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF A PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNERS"
so even if I win I would have to pay something? or am I wrong about it? :/
This is pretty much always the case with any giveaway.
It's nothing to worry about. For negligible prizes like these, the IRS isn't going to come after you. Blizz just has to include that language for legal reasons.
Can't join it anyway...
I mean, giveaways are always a good thing, but it makes me somewhat sad that Blizzard always seems to give Reddit so much more attention than their own official HS forums...
To me personally feels like users on reddit are a lot more friendly and don't do much baseless accusacions against Blizz than here on pwn. However, it might be just a better comment and thread filter.
IMO it is a vicious circle:
So fun and interactive!
does the mech from the reddit logo have magnetic keyword?
ehe...eheheheh..he
Reddit loves soy
Nooo! Had a reddit account ages ago but can't remember the login.
The date account restriction means I won't have a 1 in (20,000? - 1 million) chance of winning a scarf!! Woe is me.
We are talking about 1 milion people and to recognize this achievement we get 25 swag rewards. Im sure shipping around the world is tough but I do not think they are gonna spend more then 500 bucks.
Look, its all great, but i get a free scarf and a tshirt while entering a random event in every major city. They really cant size it up to 100 ? Cant they sweeten it up a little ? Card backs from the past for 1000 ? Its just such obvious marketing numbers/giveaways.
Also wtf is double women wallet vs one men wallet. Shouldnt they all be called childrens wallet?
Technically they didn't have to do anything but I have to agree, pretty pathetic way of celebrating 1mil subs.
yeah, will pass as well. saw it already 8h ago and there were already 100s of comments. not worth the hassle to even write something ....
Congratulations on the 1 million subs.
In terms of participating though, I think I'll pass. Sure they're free if you win but the prizes are just meh.
Best of luck to the rest of you though that choose to participate. ^^
