Dean Ayala on Shudderwock: Revisiting the Topic Early Next Week
Dean Ayala tweeted this evening that the team is going to be looking into Shudderwock feedback early next week.
How do you feel about Shudderwock? I can definitely agree with the animations being a bit on the long side and would definitely at least appreciate a less excruciating death.
Quote from Dean AyalaWe’ll be reading more feedback over the weekend and will revisit the Shudderwock topic early next week. Checking out both animation timings and feedback on the deck playstyle itself. Let us know what you think and enjoy Witchwood!
Universal fix: Allow opposing player to concede mid-animation. Problem solved. The reason noone complained about Archmage Antonidas combo as much is that when you confirmed the opponent had it you could leave and get to the next game.
Died while laughing thanks
Animation concept: grey smoke over the board. Insta cast everything. Done.
then people will complain they just died without seeing/knowing how it happened. it needs yog level bs rng to make it balanced
Just fix the animation and get it over with. It's too early for a nerf, especially considering the deck isn't even very good
If you click on the cards when they come up it speeds the animation up considerably. It takes about 1/3rd of the time.
please more, my tempo mage can't wait to see you guys on ladder
The issues I had was a guy played like 6 in one turn but his turn went on forever. Regardless if he played them back to back while the first was going off there needs to be a end effect command at the turn max timer.
It was well past 10 minutes I was watching his one turn. I actually just gave up. I don't have time to watch one turn for 10 minutes. Lord knows how much longer it would go on. "How long can this go on"
the main problem of the Shudderwock card in the animation time, if it's fixed, then this is the fastest fix in history HS :Kappa:
Seems to me that the "while in your hand" mechanic used by a few other cards is probably the best approach to improving Shudderwock's experience.
Battlecry: Repeat all Battlecries from cards you played while this is in your hand
(targets chosen randomly).
Because the above is a clear nerf, up the stats a bit to 6/10 or something.
This leads to Crumbler's copies being reset, and the "long" animations to only happen once at most.
I don't want to be that guy, but you'd think stuff like this should have been picked up and changed/fixed in testing before the expansion went live...
It's not even that good of a deck it's just so inconsistent. All the people complaining got beat by it once and rushed straight to the forums.
It is generating buzz and sales, just like they intended.
Judging by Blizzard's lack of speed when fixing broken cards in the past, you might not be playing for a long while.
Yes, generating sales because it is not like you can't get the card for free xD especially with the hall of fame dust
I think a much more interesting version of Shudderwock would have been one that costs much less mana and reads, "repeat all of your opponent's battlecries."
Enlighten me... I'm obviously missing something.
It's kinda like Exodia Mage was. Difference is:
-you can play most of combo pieces at anytime before Shudderwock
-you don't have cards like Ice Block to protect you, but in a way Bloodsucc and Healing Rain does the trick well enough
Anyways, I don't think Shudderwock is...too op. Not to mention it's still too early to say that. But I do agree animation takes way too long...
