New Details on The Witchwood's Monster Hunt - Cannoneer, Time-Tinker, Hagatha
Shacknews sat down with Ben Brode this weekend at PAX East to talk about Witchwood. Here's the new stuff we learned!
- Cannoneer starts with a Cannon on board which is fired via Hero Power. It blasts targets across from it - positioning yay!
- Time-Tinker's final boss fight is herself from the future.
- Clearing Monster Hunt with all four classes makes them all join forces against Hagatha, the ultimate boss.
Ben Brode also said he thinks Cubelock may continue to be strong and if it's too strong, it may need to be nerfed. Also, there's a Shaman card coming which players will "lose their minds about".
Unfortunally we know they ll launch some demon-crusher instead of nerf it directly. This is how blizzard works
They haven't worked like that since Mean Streets. Changes and hot fixes have been coming in within weeks for the last year
Golakka Crawler and the 4/3 guy that shoots Dragons say hi.
Because it takes some time for the meta to catch up bubby. I definitely agree with you on the Patches the Pirate aspect though. Once the best deck in each class contained Patches the Pirate and double Southsea Captain they needed to act.
Answer to cubelock is a neutral minion: Battlecry: put 3 1/1 imps in your opponent deck, when it drawn cause 3 damage to it
Kappa
Aggro Shaman in wild has been very resilient and is super cheap now that patches isn't in the list. You won't regret it - even though it is not that strong in wild ATM, it is still an upper tier deck and strongish against the greedy decks.
Wild Token druid used to be the best budget option but it sucks now.
wild dude palladin isn't that bad for top tier, except for the Call to arms quartermasters and tarim. maybe wild aggro pally is reasonable, but still need tarim and call to arms.
Call to arms and tarim are pretty safe bets for the long term. call to arms will get nerfed (hopefully) and you will get all your dust back then.
Tbh, I’d say next time starting grinding and hoarding about a month and a half before set release. It’s time consuming, but it’ll feel good opening 20-50 packs for free. As of right now, Countess Ashmore is probably gonna be in most control decks. Combo Dragon Priest is pretty cheap, not losing much, and I’ve seen that deck in Top 50 Legend.
If you can't afford a lot of packs, I recommend playing a different game.

PAX is an event that anyone can attend, correct? Then how come only 1 website reported on the "leaked" cards? Not only that, but the author of the article spoke extremely weird, it almost read the same way pyramid-scheme articles are written. Both of those lead me to believe that the 2 "leaked" legendaries are fakes.
P.S. On top of that, it would make no sense for blizzard to announce the last 2 legs at PAX, and not during the final reveal.
So, with the leaked shaman legendary (Shutterwock, 9 mana 6/6, Battlecry: Activate all battlecries you used this game), if Im not getting the mechanics wrong, this would work as an OTK:
First (Any separate turn): Nightblade, 3 meaningless damage to face, confusing the opponent.
Second (Also any other turn): Zola, Grumble to return her (or Youthful Brewmaster) as a 1 mana card
Third: Shutterwock, 1-mana Zola to return Shutterwock to hand
Last, playing Shutterwock wins the game. The Nightblade battlecry activates, dealing 3 to face. Later, Shutterwock's Battlecry activates off of itself, repeating the Nightblade effect. This will lead to Shutterwock's effect again, and so forth.
I thiiiiink it'll work that way.
Shudderwock says all other battlecries so it won`t work like that
Well thats the story element of the mode ruined. Hows about a fucking spoiler warning next time? Fuckin amateur HEY GUYS HERES THE ENDING FOR YOU fuckin prick fluxfaggot
"The new Shaman card will make people lose their minds"
oh like Hagatha did?
inb4 it actually is meta-defining and someone comments "ur wrong LUL" a year later.
4 mana 7/7 with no overload.
If it's the one that was leaked, it's a 9 mana (i forget the stats) replay all battlecries you've played this game.
I know that random shaman spells have the rep of being bad, but you go look at all of the ones in standard now and imagine if they print 3-5 more decent spells in the future, it becomes less of a meme
MAybe the prroblem with cubelock is the 1 mana heal 8...
Make it destroy at the end of the turn maybe? That way no doomguard shenanigans
Thats what I was thinkin. The healing isnt even thaaat big of a deal. Just the sudden burst as well.
Problem is, people will just play Sanguine instead
