Naxxramas Card Recap
With the addition of today's card, Dark Cultist, we're now up to a total of 13 known cards from Naxxramas, 8 of which are class cards. Check out the previously announced cards below!
Because there will never be any more Priest class cards introduced into the game.
not the fun card I was hoping, I don't know how helpful this card would be without playing it but at least it's a good body on the board
very nice card. priest is coming next saison :)
Great card for Ancient Watcher Style priest. Can't wait to try it out. But the artwork is horrible I want them to replace that.
Good stats (filling the 3/4 niche, the current exclusion of which I've been OCD:ing about for ages), good deathrattle which is basically free from an item budget standpoint. It's a great 3-drop alternative that will help with the priest early-mid game which is the cause of many strugglebear moments currently.
Very strong since it is hard to eliminate the same turn. Almost all 2-mana/3-mana creatures in the meta have <4 attack. Turn 3 this, turn 4 yeti or senjin might get you a 2-for-4 if not 2-for-5 trade regularly. This is the strongest card released so far imo.
The stats are amazing for the mana cost. The Deathrattle feels kinda.. boring, on the first look. On the second: Best to be used before you trade with him. a x/2 hth minion ends up to be x/5. Not bad at all. Imagine the Lightspawn gets a body of 8/8 without any buffing needed.
I wish the death rattle was heal all friendly minions +1 or something, would really help northshire
So only hunter now, then hopefully they release Naxxramas. Current content is burning out.
If you ever draft Priest in Arena (not sure why you would do that), this guy seems pretty sweet to pick up.
It is boring, but the stats are solid and the extra effect is nice to have.
A 3/4 for 3 mana is pretty damned good. And even if the Deathrattle is random, it could proc usefully. I could see this being used regularly in Priest decks.
I also see they haven't got around to putting the word random on these previews yet.
Considering how silence is going to be important in Naxxramas, I expect priest top3 in the meta. This card has the best value a 3 mana card ever had, on top of that, we have a really good deathrattle for a priest arsenal. 10/10 card!
I am so underwhelmed by this card it is overwhelming. I am overwhelmed with underwhelming.
Edit: Not because it is a bad card, but because it is kind of boring in comparison to the other class cards.
It is kinda boring. I was hoping for something with a bit more oomph. Not OP oomph, just something to talk about. There's really nothing to talk about with this card. I suppose there's some combo potential here, if you have dick-all on the board, but it's a vanilla deathrattle.
Unfortunately, the cards that give you more to "talk about" tend to also be very situational. And situational is the last thing Priests need right now. Instead, we get a baby yeti with a bonus effect!!
I don't know that it will singlehandedly get Priests off the bottom, but it's a step in the right direction.
Great value for the stats, and the deathrattle effect can be really good in the current priest decks. The possible combos this card brings to the deck are quite interesting: Injured Blademaster, Northshire Cleric maybe even making Wild Pyromancer survive a lot longer. Therefore assuming status quo in the meta (because its too early to predict the new meta after Naxx), Priest will be able to have a strong early/mid game, and potentially sturdier bodies to fight the infamous zoo.
My only concern though is that minions in early game don't tend to last more than the end of your opponent's turn, therefore it seems a little difficult to reap the benefits of Dark Cultist's deathrattle until the meta slows down a notch. That said, it will definitely work better in mid-game and we should see a few odd moves from the opponent to play around Dark Cultist's effect.
AFAIK, Felguard is actually the first (and only) 3/5 drop on turn 3.
Just for the record.
(Though it sucks to lose a point of mana when playing it)
Finally, we have been waiting all day!
