Naxxramas Card Recap
With the addition of today's card, Dark Cultist, we're now up to a total of 13 known cards from Naxxramas, 8 of which are class cards. Check out the previously announced cards below!
Actually, in general, this Nax will turn out very well for priest's more 'shadowy' affairs :). Locks will also be the prime benefactors. It suits the theme, i suppose, which is nice. As they develop different regions/expansions, Hearthstone might have very cool thematic class/site/deck associations.
Great job blizzard devs.
Really solid, difficult to deal with, minion.
The death rattle is just a bonus. One very normal scenario - Soulpriest + CoH won't leave a weak SP anymore on turn 4. Definitely makes aggro think twice.
So if you played this with Baron Rivendare, and the Deathrattle went off twice, would one minion receive +6 Health? Or would two minions receive +3 Health each?
Really blizz? I think they want to kill priest and paladin and make other classes even better. I was hopping for that this two classes will get 2 most powerful cards, but insted of this they get the worst ones. Good work on game balance blizz...
'Reincarnation' is my favourite, but I'm a bias Shaman player. It's potentially the most fun of all the cards; situational but with plenty of potential situations, particularly vs Paladins (although there will be some cackling Mage around!). This, however, and Death's Bite are the most solid, synergistic, no questions asked, additions, IMO.
Paladins do seem to have got the short end right now, particularly with the increased need for silence. Agree?
It's a good card, but not for priest. Priest doesn't need another slow card, they are already the slowest class in the game. In most priest matchups this card will either be removed without the deathrattle taking effect (because priest can rarely get more than 1 minion on the board at a time), or the opponent just won't care that the deathrattle has taken effect because they are busy beating the everliving crap out of your hero, or they are dropping giants or similar.
I thought Priest would get something like: Steal a Deathrattle, or copy Deathrattle(very priest-ish, your card are better style). But a minion, didn't expect that at all. Overall It's a solid card, nothing high, nothing low. Feels very "safe".
I guess they want Priests to play more Divine and Lightspawns.
My bet on hunter's card will be a Weapon or Secret. Secret would be very lame though.
Strong but not overpowered. I like the way the new cards turn out!
Like it and will use it but would love it to have instead +3hp deal 1 dmg to all enemys minions and champion.
The long awaited 3 mana Chillwind Yeti, even with a potential bonus on top of it. How can people complain?
Turn 3, summon Cultist
Turn 4, summon Rivendare
Turn 5, kill Cultist, Divine Spirit x2, Inner Fire, poof, 52 dmg (or PW: Shield, DS, IF and 30 dmg)
That escalated quickly
So you're expecting these things to happen:
Dream scenarios are just that, a dream. They don't make for winning decks.
If it was a battlecry, it would cost another 1 mana. Plus, how can you be surprised? Naxx has a focus on death and deathrattles.
Imho card would be much better if deathrattle effect were: "Silence random enemy minion"
That's be sweet, if I had an ancient watcher on the board when I killed the Cultist.
Even if you waste the deathrattle (have no minions on the board) 3/4 for 3 is fine. Don’t think it will be very popular in constructed, but it’s really good for arena.
Why would it not be popular in constructed?
Priest main issue in constructed is that they have no non gimmick early drops. This helps with that and on top of that it enables the use of the hero power. Unless we see a meta with 90% controll then this is going to see play. Any meta with alot of either aggro or midrange makes 3/4 3 drops very powerfull.
A very good card though it helps the kind of Priest decks I don't enjoy playing. A tear for Shadow Priest... Also noting to the people theorycrafting Lightspawn with this, that Naxxramas will have more silence so RIP Lightspawn, they will be more useless than now.
Cuz a minion with a deathrattle you'll never see happen is exactly what priest needed. Nope, they didn't need a more powerful AoE spell like, say, Mind Sear. Nope...they give priest this.
Thanks for nothin', Blizz.
