Secrets only activate on your opponent's turn unless specifically mentioned otherwise on the card.
Secret rogue is now the best counter for quest mage :D
Edit: I forgot quest mage has two turn rip me
Now that we have all the secrets I'm expecting one secret synergy card to give you some incentive for playing them.
Maybe next expansion.
Now imagine playing thief rouge against mage and stealing ice blocks... Stall for days!
Oh. My. God. I love it so much!
mill rogue will become viable again?
Secrets dossent trigger on your turn
so? this will great in mill rogue, which is only trying to survive at all costs
That's a card. That is a card right here that might make some form of Control Rogue viable (not by itself, mind you, but, rather, if more card like this one are printed),
this is actually better than ice block
How? Ice block ONLY triggers when you're going to die. This one triggers whenever your opponent feels like testing for it, something as simple as a mage ping is enough to nullify it.
That's one you have to explain if you want to avoid being down-voted into oblivion. lol
I'll assume this is the situation you had in mind: Evasion is potentially "better" than Ice Block if you play it when you have high health, because, even though it's not performing Ice Block's typical job of sparing you from death for a turn, it may in fact save you a lot of health if your opponent planned on going face with multiple damage sources (which is exactly when you'd want to play it). And in that way... yeah, you're not wrong. The benefit this has over Ice Block is that you're significantly less likely to be at 1 health on your next turn.
But it has the major downside of being useless once your health gets too low. Ice Block saves you in your most desperate hour. Evasion spares you damage before it comes to that.
look at me. i'm the mage now
Eater of Secrets EZ
I think everyone is missing why this is such a huge issue. Ice Block is potentially being considered as a Hall of Fame card right now by Blizzard, but they somehow wanted to print ANOTHER secret that makes you immune? Sure, there's counterplay with this card, and its situational, I get it. But at the end of the day, this card and Ice Block are almost exactly the same when you're on low HP.
Except playing this on the turn you get the mana for it is a really bad idea. Ice Block has a condition to it that it mist be fatal damage, meaning that you can play it on turn three to secure yourself an extra turn somewhere down the line. Could this card do it, yeah sure, but it requires skill to play in the right situation.
If you are at low HP, then you risk getting killed before this pops. And if you play this before they have lethal it can get popped uselessly. You also don't heave near the risk of chaining that a mage has with various spell generation.
It seems to me that the most useful thing to do with this is slowing down an aggro opponent as a pseudo heal, something Rogues can really make use of.
This card can definitely be a secure life every time you play it. What if you vanish, the vanish, then secret, then secret? They won't be killing you through that for many turns. I think this card makes mill rogue viable. Not high tier, but probably will show up in the rankings somewhere.
