Get 2000 Arcane Dust? Blizzard Makes Up for Pity Timer Bug
Just over a week ago, Blizzard announced that there was an issue which led to some players getting one fewer Epic or Legendary card than they should have from packs. If you were hurt by this bug, you have been sent an email letting you know and 2000 dust has been credited to your account which will let you craft a Legendary card and an Epic card!
No idea what you should craft? You should save it for the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion and either spend it on something that looks cool or use it a few days into it once we have a good idea what Legendaries are going to be solid.
No official post has yet been made on the resolution, and it's possible that dust hasn't been finished being distributed. We expect an official response shortly.

Quote from BlizzardGreetings,
Patch 8.4 for Hearthstone introduced new infrastructure to prepare for the recently announced improvements to card drop rates. As a side effect of this change, a small number of players who opened packs after the patch received one fewer Legendary or Epic card than they would have otherwise. We have identified you as one of those players, and we've given you 2000 Arcane Dust to use however you want!
Thank you for your continued support, and we'll see you at the Inn!

The norm is 1 in 40 so everything seems to work correctly.
well.... i opened 20packs, i really think 2000dust isnt enough tho its a nice amount... cuz im considered a bit lucky in this game and i could open 1/2 legendaries and at least 5epics and 1golden... :C
3000dust is much better tho
Bad step by Blizzard, everyone should get the 2k Dust.
Not only some ppl. Or give us a free legi from the new packs.
Why should everyone get the 2k dust, explain your logic.
Precisely because it's 2000 dust. Giving a random epic and a random legendary is much more in line with the reason for the existence of the pity timer. Even then, the pity timer doesn't help everyone, so Blizzard's accidental bug shouldn't reward only a few of the people who the timer didn't help - they should reward everyone the timer was intended to help (which is a lot more people as this thread shows). I'll refer to my post 194 again:
I've opened 50-55 packs of Ungoro (plus half a dozen Classic packs in the brawl) and got 1 Legendary (Jungle Giants). So I'd say I'm looking at 60 packs with 1 legendary. This means I'm at least 1 legendary short, possibly 2 according to the drop rates. I have also not opened enough Epics in that time either (2-3 too few). But obviously I've not gone 40 packs in succession without a legendary (!) and therefore without the Pity Timer failing to trigger in order for me to get the 2000 dust.
So how can I feel anything other than salty? I wasn't hurt by the bug - yes. But the timer is there so that players get a fair number of the higher rarity cards - which I'm clearly not getting. Had I opened Jungle Giants in my first 10 packs (or hey, maybe I got it because of the pity timer, since I hadn't opened a legendary for some time before then as I recall), then I'd be due 2000 dust on the same distribution of cards.
2000 dust gives you a specific legendary and a specific epic. My circumstances show the pity timer is a poorly implemented solution, but because they also had a bug in it some people get a staggering reward while I just get to carry on being unlucky with nothing to balance it.
feelsbadman is all I can say.
Yeah, Blizzard always manages to make the most of its customers upset. Do you remember NA compensation for MSG packs?
I feel you man, opened 11 packs 2 epics and no legendary and didn't get the refund. But you know what is more hurting. My friend opened 2 legs and 5 epics ( golden edwin and kun) and he did get the refund... I am really thinking on giving up this game..
Thanks blizzard i've got the dust on both Eu and Na
a bit more transparency from blizzard would help a lot :/ i feel cheated
<3 Blizz
sankyu blizzard...!!
On the last month, I opened more than 40 Un'goro packs in a row, and I don't get any legendaries. Yet somehow, i still don't get the dust
Lets just hope they are not done sending out those emails...
Okay i am really giving up on this game. Spend 1000 gold didn't receive anything(classic packs) and didn't get the dust really blizzard?
I'd say your sample size is a bit too small. Speaking under correction in case things have changed, the rates are something like this:
So in 10 packs you should get 10 rares, 2-3 epics with only a 50% shot at a legendary. If you genuinely only opened rares then you're at most 800 dust in the hole, and more than likely this will even out after another 10 packs. Probably not a bug, I'd say - just bad luck. For reference, I played all the beta and season 1 and didn't open a single legendary, so I know what it's like. :( And if you read my post @ 194 you'll see that I might just be an unlucky guy.
Okay, glhf :)
Just fyi though as I'm not sure if you're trolling or not... 1k gold is 10 packs, so most likely you couldn't have been affected by the pity timer bug as that one is for a 99% for a legendary when you hit your 40th pack
Thanks, man. My "luck" did even out eventually. I stopped playing for a few months after season 1, and when I started again I promptly opened Ragnaros the Firelord, Bloodmage Thalnos and a 3rd legendary that I dusted (might have been King Krush which I've had 3 times in total now). I think those came within 20 or 30 packs so at least I felt a lot better about things for a while. I do seem to trundle along with below average rates for higher rarity cards (didn't feel like I opened enough Epics in Old Gods, for eg) and I've kinda accepted it because I took the decision to not play Wild and therefore can make dust at will for a while yet.
It's just that seeing other people get 2000 dust for not being successfully helped to be more lucky irritates me.
Well I didn't get 2k dust, but I opened a couple ungoro packs and got a golden jungle giants and a fire plumes heart from the same pack. So there's that. O_o
As Thrall would say, "That's incredible!"
Fire Plume's Heart is sweet: I burned a Golden Nozdormu I got from the "Welcome Back" bundle to craft it, and I don't regret it at all. Got me into the Warrior, which used to be one of my least-played classes.
