Can people stop complaining about how it ruins 0 cost spells? It says right on the fucking card only 1 cost spells
Can't believe so many people are so cool with this card. Yeah, getting rekt by jade druid sucks. Whenever I get 1 on the ladder I'm tempted to just auto concede because I play a greedy control mage deck. That said this isn't okay. Jade druid was just like a boundary deck. It was a check against super slow super greedy decks. It hasn't prevented control decks from being the best decks, it just prevented them from totally dominating everyone. And to everyone who says this doesn't ruin jade druid, tell me, which other jade deck has actually seen some success? None. Sure some cards fit into other deck designs, but they aren't jade decks. Druid had a niche because of jade idol and now it's just going to die.
While this analysis covers only Standard, Wild should also be considered. I'm not going to provide analysis, just getting the cards out there:
Druid
Mage
Paladin
Rogue
Warlock
This will also destroy spare parts, 1-mana Kaza potions, any 2-Mana spells from Renounce darkness that get that 1-Mana discount, any 3-Mana spells a mage might get off of Glyph, and the discover cards created from Explore Un'goro.
I'm sure I missed some and I know I skipped some like Sacred Trial or Light of the Naaru. The nice thing about Geist is that it will get better and better in Wild as time goes on.
Card is pretty good against most staple decks like Jade Druid, Combo Rogue, Inner Fire Priest, etc. Might be even good enough to replace Golakka Crawler in control decks.
someone playing Explore Un'goro is going to be very sad when this hits.
I'm afraid it costs too much :/
This card will thinn the number of Jade decks ... eventually the decks will be played when people pull this card out
"Who am I? None of your - ARGH!"
Crafting 2 golden versions day one.
Its not that good..
The dream:
Innervate, Innervate into this card on turn one. (Beats any quest deck if you go first)
1 + 2 + 2 = 5
You need the coin too, in which case they just played their quest.
The elimination of Earthen Scales might be as big of a deal as the extra Jade Idols. I've had too many games where I'm on a two turn clock from the Idols, but I'm set up to ignore them and hit lethal damage half a turn before my opponent, but then they heal for 10 armor for 1 mana.
A 6 mana 4/6 is playable (unlike the Priest legendary at 7), but it's still clunky. Mid-range decks are going to have a hard time running this or continue to struggle against Earthen Scales. But, and we say this every expansion, we might be entering a control meta.
I think this should be nerf to not affect secrets at all
This is pretty fuvking great, honestly. I just don't like that its stats are that good. Should have given it far worse stats to make running it a double edged sword. A 6 mana 4/6 with strong Battlecry can almost always be justified. Burgly Bully is also being played a lot despite having a far worse effect just because its stats are still alright if it fizzles. Making this a 3/3 or worse would have been better, that way you'd lose a ton of tempo but still ruin Jade Druid's late game.
I feel that this card is very toxic.
I was so happy to see more cards and make The Last Kaleidosaur work. That card takes out all secrets and some of the nice pala spells that i could use for that.
Rouge loses many of the cards that make it possible to start your combos with cards like Counterfeit Coin, Backstab, Shadowstep or Preparation
Warrior loses inner rage for example... it would had been a lot better to just nerf Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Cards like Inner Fire for piest... GONE. You even hurt BigDruid when you remove his Earthen Scales
This card will do two things:
a) it is a 4/6 body that has no effect
b) it will destroy the deck of your enemy
We could argue that Eater of Secrets also didnt destroy the game, but to punish you if you play to many secrets and having the option to silence is very different from "hey, lets remove X cards that destroy the whole deck". What it does is to promote LUCK if you Q against a special deck, becasue it is a dead card or a gamebreaker...
most of the cards you put are 0 cost spells not 1 cost if i'm reading this card right it won't affect those only 1 mana spells
Besides Jade druid or combo priest/rogue, Paladin is hit pretty hard too.
Not like Questing Pally was ever really a thing, but it definitely won't be if this card defining the meta.
it hits many classes... hell, you cant even play Shadowstep or Preparation anymore, just because they didnt want to nerf Gadgetzan Auctioneer
