The thing that pisses me off the most about this card is that it can't even be re-summoned by the Warlock DK because it isn't a demon. I really don't know what Blizzard was thinking with this one... It's almost unusable, because so many other Legendaries (or even Epics) would fill that card slot with more value.
If they just would have made her a Demon, or added the "Can't be discarded" text, the card would have been proper Legendary. I was actually disappointed when I pulled this as my first KFN leg...
In before people realise this is absurd because of Lifesteal and that this dramatically offsets the harm the discard mechanic currently inflicts on Warlocks. Consider a few things:
1. Discard isn't going away and this buffs the mechanic substantially.
2. Warlocks that can heal reliably are disgustingly powerful. Consider the reason Warlocks are trash tier currently - they can't gain card advantage over all the randon card generation their opponents have without killing themselves. This helps offset the clock Warlocks have to put themselves on.
3. Prince Keleseth and Prince Taladran exist...buffing discard further.
4. It's a huge removal target just by the threat of buffs alone. Zoo is going to run this and if highlander lock can get this behind a wall...
5. We haven't seen everything yet.
6. SPIIIIIDER ICHOR!
1. the fact that discard was pushed as it was, without anyone really wanting it with the fault it has, can be debated as "good", and how does this card buff the mechanic? it is still based on RNG with what card you lose. For example, if I lose her, there is always the chance I can bring her back with Cruel Dinomancer, right? well, no, since that too is random. Had this been an Epic instead it would've been better, since that meant you could've had two, which might had some helpful impact.
2. I agree, but the only warlock that really can heal reliably is the Renolock, which can't see play outside of Wild, and even then is rarely played in Wild either. I don't know why, but them's the breaks.
3. How does adding any one of those two "buff" your deck? do use their effects, you may not have any 2 or 3 cost cards, and as such lose out on good cards such as Silverware Golem,Bloodbloom and even cards that Support the discolock type, like Clutchmother Zavas! Adding any one of them into a Discolock makes it even more difficult to maintain a good deck!
4. Zoo is not going to run this, as it is too expensive and not cost-effective for the Aggro-playstyle of the Zoolock, and I have no earthly idea on what the "highlander lock" is, so I can't comment on that.
5. Yes, we haven't seen everything yet, but I don't know how that would magically make this a much, much better card? Even if the warlock DK power allowed you to regain a lost minion or spell that was discarded, it was revealed to be a 9/10 mana cost card, if I recall, so it would most likely be played too late to have any large impact. Though I will admit that in this last part, I could be wrong, as we haven't seen how the Meta will be yet.
We shall see. This gets better as the game goes on. Yeah theres the risk of losing it to discard mechanics but if youre in a position where you have to play discard defensively, would removing its downside matter?
It seems like people think this operates like Zavas when it clearly tracks discard without being in your hand. In that respect you can see that theyve learned from the mistakes of Un'Goro.
It's blatantly obvious that Highlander Lock is the route Discolock is taking as thats the way to make incremental buffs. Discarding 2 & 3 drops is less painful if that means you can activate the Princes without spending all that mana. You can include 2 & 3 drops and maintain the upside of the Princes in certain situations, allowing for versatility. You have to make choices...do you want to keep your low cost cards or do you want to try and discard them in order to activate your synergies. Yes, having options is a small buff but a buff nonetheless because if you have options the RNG is less. Whereas with discolock as it stands right now, either the stars align and you dominate or they dont. Thats not engaging.
Zoo will run this. Everyone said Darkshire Councilman was bad lmao.
Edit: Like Darkshire it will be buffed after being played as well. Id put money on this being incredibly good for discolock.
I could waver on most things, and maybe I just don't understand why, but I see no reason at all why Zoolock would use this card. there are many better fillers, better legendaries and/or better spells that could take up her spot.
Bonemare
Sorry but this is now absolutely disgusting if allowed to live.
To clarify, Highlander decks are what you might call Reno decks where powerful card effects are dependent on an absence, rather than the presence, of cards within a decklist. E.g. Reno, the Princes etc...

Double post cant delete.
Hey look, at best a slightly undercosted 5-cost beater that dies to most 6-drops and fireball, and which requires you play an archetype that does not work.
Good luck with that one.
Wow...i love warlock and will be giving the queen a chance but it is hard to get that feeling of excitement from her like the other revealed class legendary cards. A free secret? two free legendary cards? nope...some healing and +attack if it doesnt get killed/discarded before it can attack. Warlocks constantly are taking damage and if we play something we need it to have impact quickly particularly if we are discarding our good cards to get to it. All of our non-discard legendary cards have immediate impact:
Now look at the discard legendary cards. They are all slow which is counter to how quickly we loose our deck when we are discarding it. Also how many other classes have to play 5 cards and discard 5 cards to get a 6/6 with lifesteal (is 33% of our deck worth a 6/6 with healing)? Then when you add on top of that the chance to discard the queen on your way to playing 5 discard cards I can feel the frustration rising.
I am hopefull that there are more cards coming that will make a huge change to how warlocks currently play ( Deathwing, Dragonlord for discarded cards maybe??). For now i will just question the idea of creating slow legends for discard.
Look guys... I am a Warlock main. We've seen some horribly bad class cards for Gul'dan in the past but this is clearly the worst. And it is a legendary. I can't understand why are they doing this with my favourite class. Especially when it is in real trouble. I've never been so sad and disappointed like now. Always want to be positive and I'm always trying really hard to make any deck or archetype work for my fav class, but now ... just can't find the words what I'm feeling.
the fact that it is a Legendary is what really hurts it. If it was just an epic or so, I'd be fine with it.
but no, making a bad leggy for Warlock is basically par for the course here.
Welcome to Blizzard games
Give her charge and then we start talking...
:)
even if the new Hero power for Warlock would do that, it was reveals as a 9/10 mana card (can't remember which, please don't kill me), and should the hero power be something like "discover a copy of a card you've discarded", it still would most likely not see play. playing something so expensive in a Discolock is just not easy, as you often take too much damage beforehand - atleast if we're to count by the current meta and the use of the Quest.
I'm hoping the meta will be less favored towards Aggro, but since I've been hoping that for ages, and Aggro has been the norm for ages, I very much doubt it.
COOL, but not cool enough.. :/
Has decent stats starting at 5/6... but then it's pretty likely you'll have already discarded her. If there were non-random discard effects, then this card could (only "could") be somewhat playable, but it's not, and the "lifesteal" keyword is irrelevant.
She doesn't need to be in your hand to benefit: she's tallying from beginning to end. If she's still in your deck she's safe from being discarded, and later on you'll draw a 10/6 or whatever.
She'll gain stacks while inside your deck: it doesn't specify that it has to be in your hand.
