Arthas is Your Lich King! Knights of the Frozen Throne Missions Information Roundup
We're seeing some information trickle out about the upcoming Expansion's Mission/Adventure content! Check out everything from this weekend so far down below.
- The Lich King will be manned by Arthas, not Bolvar.
- Some bosses or villians you fight during the Missions will also be featured in collectible cards.
- Missions will be harder than usual, but not every fight will be on the same level as Heroic bosses were.
- The prologue will see you fight with a pre-made deck.
- You'll see 2 wings with 6 bosses total after the Prologue. The Lich King is then in the third and final wing.
- The final battle against The Lich King will be different based on which class you choose to play.
- If you defeat The Lich King with all 9 classes, you will receive a special reward.
- They haven't meme'd up The Lich King. He's cold and cruel just like in Warcraft.

We've got several sources for the above information. Check out the video from Eloise and Dave Kosak, Ben Brode's Tweets, and this article from Respawn.ninja.

Quote from Ben BrodeHow hard will Ice Crown Citadel "adventure" be compared with old adventures? E.g normal is 0% and Heroic is 100%. 25% 50%? 75%?
Depends on the mission. Should be more of a challenge than old normal.
But not as hard as heroic?
Not for most of the fights. (Source)
Will the Lich King in Hearthstone be Bolvar or Arthas?
Arthas (Source)
Sometimes I just love Blizzard.
Arthas should be new hero, not this adventure meme.
MEME:
I don't think it memes what you think it memes
Easy to say when you have spare money to spend. not everyone has 150$ to spend on a card game for each expansion! yeah they are being very grateful lately and i won't argue (thanks blizzard for all of this :) ) with that but don't say it's not hard. Even 14,400 dust that's nearly impossible to get in a few month as a free player. After a year of playing hearthstone i didn't get even close to 10,000 dust. you have to make the the difference between those who are willing to pay and those who are not.
I'm not complaining, just saying. I play for free, I don't have all the cards but if free players focus on one or two class each expansion it's more than enough to compete with the meta :)
On the official Blizzard site they have some descriptions for each boss at the very end of the page: https://eu.battle.net/hearthstone/en/expansions-adventures/knights-of-the-frozen-throne/
For the Lich King it is:"Pay close attention to his unorthodox strategies. (He's a cheat)"
You know most people play games and specially mobile games for "fun", not for "competing"
Some interviews is wasting "so much time and resources" and nonsense ??? It wouldn't make the expansion come out faster even by a day if they didn't do that 99% sure, they have whole teams working on it after all, not just few people.
For balance - rogue quest nerf is coming soon, they will also balance (probably) with the new expansion's cards.
And they recently updated the game with the midsummer festival and the new brawl too, 2x gold for 2 weeks. If you mean updates as adding new cards - they only add more with new expansions/adventures and they come like every 4 months, no different right now and that's how it has always been so not sure what are you expecting? They might do some smaller updates adding like few cards each in the future maybe, but so far they have never said they would and never done it.
Please, release this already.
I've always have some doubts with Sindragosa, because I can't distinguish her from Sapphiron.
I've only played Warcraft III, in which Arthas kills Sapphiron and makes him a frost wyrm. But I believe he is not that important in WoW. Where does he go, and where does Sindragosa come from?
Sindragosa was the dragon the LK raised during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion Cinematic as well as the second to last boss in the Lich king raid in WoW. Sindragosa was also a former prime-consort of Malygos before she died.
Sapphiron showed up in WoW as the second to last boss in Naxxramas. in fact, the first hearthstone adventure in Naxx has Saph as the second boss as well.
and you know how you can distinguish the two? one makes dragon noises the other shouts obnoxious shit like "Suffer, mortals, as your pathetic magic betrays you!" in a voice that could shatter windows.
Not sure if anyone else has sen this yet, but all of the art and costs for the boss hero powers are actually on the expansion site as extra assets that aren't displayed anywhere on the site yet. I found this when I was looking for the Geist art on the site, it's the only asset image with anything useful about the expansion on it as far as I could tell.
The rune one with no cost is likely Saurfang, the 2 mana one with the teeth is Lana'thel, the no-cost potion one is Putricide, the 2 Mana Frostmourne is Arthas, the 0-cost one with the greenish hand is Deathwhisper, the blue claw with no cost is Sindragosa, and the last one (not sure exactly what I would call that) that costs 0 is Marrowgar. That means that only two of the bosses (Arthas and Lana'thel) have traditional 2-cost powers, the other 5 have either autocasts or passive hero powers.
This is awesome! Is that Chillmaw?
Sindragosa, Arthas's personal Frost Wyrm. Chillmaw was just one the you had to kill in a quest in WoW, Sindragosa is just about the most powerful one out there.
Thanks! Nice background info!
Oh thank god Bonestorm isn't Marrowgar's hero power, otherwise I would've just uninstalled the game.
If you look along the top bar of the editor when you're making a post, there are a bunch of icons for different things you can do, like formatting options and such, and the 5th one from the left is the insert/edit image tool. You click on it and paste the link of the image you want to use, and you can change the size of it in that window too.
