Arthas is Your Lich King! Knights of the Frozen Throne Missions Information Roundup
We're seeing some information trickle out about the upcoming Expansion's Mission/Adventure content! Check out everything from this weekend so far down below.
- The Lich King will be manned by Arthas, not Bolvar.
- Some bosses or villians you fight during the Missions will also be featured in collectible cards.
- Missions will be harder than usual, but not every fight will be on the same level as Heroic bosses were.
- The prologue will see you fight with a pre-made deck.
- You'll see 2 wings with 6 bosses total after the Prologue. The Lich King is then in the third and final wing.
- The final battle against The Lich King will be different based on which class you choose to play.
- If you defeat The Lich King with all 9 classes, you will receive a special reward.
- They haven't meme'd up The Lich King. He's cold and cruel just like in Warcraft.

We've got several sources for the above information. Check out the video from Eloise and Dave Kosak, Ben Brode's Tweets, and this article from Respawn.ninja.

Quote from Ben BrodeHow hard will Ice Crown Citadel "adventure" be compared with old adventures? E.g normal is 0% and Heroic is 100%. 25% 50%? 75%?
Depends on the mission. Should be more of a challenge than old normal.
But not as hard as heroic?
Not for most of the fights. (Source)
Will the Lich King in Hearthstone be Bolvar or Arthas?

I would rather win a cardpack after each boss instead of each wing. We need more rewards for doing these harder missions. Sure the free Legendary Hero card is nice, but that's just one reward. We need more if they want to do more of these Adventure-Expansion hybrids.
Are you fucking kidding me? They're giving you a GUARANTEED legendary in the first 10 packs. A GUARANTEED legendary hero card from beating all the prologue bosses AND the bosses are "The prologue will see you fight with a pre-made deck." beatable by ANYONE because they're done with premade decks, meaning your whole "harder missions" statement is 100% pointless. Also that's still 3 free packs.
And yet you're here, stating that you're a plain greedy fuck when blizzard is also currently hosting a 2 week long event that DOUBLES all quest gold. They even fixed a bug that made the 80g quest not give 160 AND gave everyone who experienced it their missed gold. If that isn't enough to satisfy you then I don't know what is.
Fishtard, he is no fucking kidding you. Three expansions a year is too much. We need much more than Blizzard is giving to us to not lose the free players.
They are doing great things but it's not enough yet. Pure maths. 135 more cards are too many more cards.
Yet, they used to give us like 5 GUARANTEED legendaries along with epics, rares and commons, while we had Adventures.
Now it's only 3 packs, which will give you 15 of 135 (even, about 250 if we count duplicates) cards.
I mean we also got the free dust from the hall of fame recently and for sure they will also give out free stuff the 3rd expansion this year and all of that added up will make up for at least 1 expansion instead of adventure difference.
And there is always an advantage of having expansions instead of adventures - more content, even f2p players can just craft the best stuff from the expansion (not everything is gonna be good so you don't need to get all those legendaries and epics) and it won't be that hard to get enough dust for that especially if you get 1 of the better legendaries/the better epics in the free stuff (packs, free legendary, legendary in 1st 10 packs)
There will also be more decks viable probably so maybe more to choose from for f2p ?
so hearthstone's next expansion will be a extremely dark one about the terrify rein of the Lich King one of wow most ruthless, cunning and arrogant, villains and his blue colored undead army, who manages to defeat are hero's . This is so different from magic the gatherings next expansion which will be a extremely dark one about the terrify rein of Nicol bolas one of mtg most ruthless, cunning and arrogant, villains and his blue colored undead army who manages to defeat are hero's. How completely different.
Yeah because Wrath of the Lich King totally didn't come out before Hour of Devastation or anything. Are you retarded?
for the love of god people obviously they aren't ripping each other off these things are thought up well before they are revealed the similarities are just funny besides they have completely different back drops. I just think the similarities between the two expansions that are coming out a roughly the same time is funny.
We have shadowverse, gwent, krosmaga, hearthstone, etc... who cares about magic nowadays... I am not trying to be unrespectful, I am sure it's a great game but they are not competitors to hearthstone at all.
also I'm honestly surprised that I got so many down votes and a comment calling me a retard less then a hour after my first comment. Ohhh my first hate mail on hearth pwn their should by a achievement for that XD.
XD yeah it's also a shame there is no achievement for smart and intelligent people who can find those game similarities which basically confirm the rip off like you man
Comparing Magic to HS and games like the ones you mentioned is more often than not simply a bad comparison.
Maybe it has something to do with marketing research of the public's interest, idk.
Ya I noticed that to.
Thanks for a detailed and reasoned reply.
Concerning the friends list I definitely have a few who I have not seen in months but mostly I still see 10-15 playing fairly consistently and I haven't even maxed out my number of friends. Also it should be noted I've added these friends having never made it farther than Rank 3 so the majority of them will be casual players.
As you said, giving a few cards and packs here and there doesn't really help as it does very little to build out your collection if you don't put time into to complete your dailies as well. They could implement a system whereby you can purchase the entire set for a fee but this would have to be a ridiculous amount to be comparable to pack purchases. Either that or they scrap the FTP aspect and just make each set a defined amount that is a lot smaller (although I imagine that would piss of the people who've been collecting for years and cut massively into Blizzard profits).
Personally I like the idea that I've heard thrown around on TAC of prebuilt meta decks which you can purchase. Would be a good way to entice new players to spend a bit as they know the deck is solid and would also be a way for collectors to get a bunch of cards they're missing that are in that deck.
