I just feel the maths behind this card are just wrong. If you want to summon 6 1/1 tokens, the ones that don't fit should just give a +1/+1 buff to a random hound rather than buff the whole pack.
Well but that's the point. Otherwise this card would be way worse.
Other mechanics such as Lord Marrowgar do what you say, but it's a different story when you can easily raise 20+ corpses.
While the card doesn't seem that good at first, it gets much better the more board state you already have.
In most hunter decks, you will have a few early game minions on the board anyway and when you play this it's either 10/10 or 12/12 for 4 Mana.
If this had rush, it would be broken. It already can trigger other beast mechanics. (Bunny Stomper...)
Back in the day Lesser Emerald Spellstone gave you 12/12 for 5 Mana and was busted.

Another really good point is, that for just one spell you use, your opponent either has to use board clear (which is value for the hunter) or trade into them themselves, if they do not want to get hit for 10-12 dmg on round 5 (+more synergy possibilities). Don't necessarily needs rush, if the enemy minions are forced to trade anyway.

Jungle Gym is busted with this and kinda makes sure that they cannot even trade well into this. Either they board wipe or get SMOrced.
I really though they had rush and I don't even play hunter

Except this synergizes perfectly with other already good Hunter Decks as well as the new Jungle Gym (talk about interaction...) and Remote Control. Turn 4 10/10 or possibly 12/12 is the definition of tempo.
Play it later and you get other combo potential.
Hunter is not about mana cheating like many others or playing 1 card that is broken in itself (should be nerfed otherwise anyway) but the synergies you get, specially with Beasts.
4 Mana Helya doesn't have any interaction whatsoever. Yet she wins you the game because of all the other cards with Plague synergy...
it work with hounds from other cards like Unleash the Hounds?
The subject of the sentence are the Hounds you summoned, so is an self-contained effect. Only affects at this 6 dogs.
Is like if Raid Boss Onyxia said "Rush. Battlecry: Summon six 2/1 Whelps with Rush. Immune while you control them."
This card should say "Summon six 1/1 Hounds. Give all your Hounds +1/+1 for each that can't fit on the battlefield." to work like that.
I thought it was decent, but then I've realised my brain automatically added rush. I think it's too vulnerable to cheap aoe to be useful.

4 mana 12/12 good.
Is not baaad. With no minions is 6 1/1s which is Wispering Woods, If I had 3 minions is 4 2/2s which is a better Force of Nature, If I had 5 minions is 2 5/5s which is a better Protect the Innocent. Like on Numbers looks balanced.
But I feel that the lack of Keywords makes the card a lot less viable that how it could.
The math is a bit off: with 3 minions you get 4 3/3s for 4 Mana, which is immensely better than Force of Nature.
Lack of Keywords does slow it down but that's why they printed Painted Canvasaur I suppose?
The new Jungle Gym obviously goes perfect with it, as it secures one more spot on your board to be taken without it being able to get removed. Dont need rush if you can immediately deal 4-6 dmg randomly amongst enemies.
Otherwise Selective Breeder on turn 2 into Canvasaur or the likes of Bunny Stomper.

No, you are right. I didn't take the original statline into account. Then is more similar to a Emerald Spellstone.
Painted Canvasaur is clearly designed to be played with this card, The problem I see with that is, first that if a card needs be played with another card to be good, then is because isn't that good, and second that you usually are not going to have board space to play the Canvaur, unless you summon 6 1/1s, and then you are playing like a wacky inconsistent Swarm of Locusts.
But yeah, I can see the card being good just cause puts a fairly good amount of stats on board, without need of futher combos.

You are right. No rush is actually way too slow.
On its own pretty weak but in conjunction with other cards it will be strong/decent. Seems like this new beast archetype has a fair bit of support this set. 4/5 stars.
