It's kinda comedic people find this weak. I don't even have to consider mana reduction to consider it potentially strong (because someone mentioned correctly it can even be mana cheated). People forget this game is filled with cards that can produce other cards or cards that can add cards to deck and these newly generated cards are often very strong.
An interesting way to reduce a Burgle Rogue's hand to 9 cards.
I hate this card already
It's a shadow spell...it can be discounted. People doubting that this is going to be obnoxious haven't played enough hearthstone.
I always love to see "destroy the enemy hero" text.
But 8 mana is just hard to make it work, if not impossible
People are gonna find a way to make this the most toxic card ever printed and ruin Hearthstone. Why even print this? Hasn't the community made it clear we don't want cards that eliminate the need to interact with your opponent and can't be countered?
Is it really that bad? Sure, 8 mana do nothing is very slow but warlock has a lot of defensive options. If he can find a turn slow enough to play this unpunished it's as good as game over for minion based decks. Activated Reno hero card, twisting nethers (which you can conveniently find in guldan's present), Sargeras... Plus you can always remade your deck with Symphony of Sins
I think it might be playable
I think it is somehow compareable to quest priest, it will be playable as t4 or t3 at the very best.
If they give ous something similar to Shadowborn it could be pretty decent. Playing this for 5 mana is a whole different Story.
I've learned the hard way never to dismiss anything in this game so even if this seems like complete garbage with the right synergy it might be a really annoying card, for example I'm quite sure Warlock or even other classes aswell will have ways to restock their deck with cards there are already a couple of things adds cards to your deck. And with some special tactics you might be able to play it way before turn 8 could also cause some really insane rng situations where people cast this spell from random spell casts.
But at best right now its just a very gimmicky card and tbh cards like this should never be designed to be meta definining, but they can be really fun to play. If I get it I will totally play around with it and see if I can do something with it. Hearthstone for me is not only about viability some of the more fun games and decks I'm playing with is not the greatest in terms of winrates etc but they are alot more fun to me than playing Aggro Paladin with 75-80% winrate to rank up fast. Reaching Legend with the currently most popular deck doesnt feel all that special but doing it with your own gimmicky creation feels way more rewarding.
But as said in the start to me this is a 1/5 card in terms of how good I think it will be and I'm quite sure that in the eyes of the meta this card will be trash :)
It’s so ungodly bad. An 8 mana card that is just decent is bad in this meta. An 8 mana “do nothing” is horrible in this meta. But an 8 mana “do nothing, and start a 15 damage fatigue timer on yourself” is beyond horrendous.
To put into perspective how bad this is, warrior sometimes has a hard time playing Odin safely. And that’s in a far tanker class than warlock and doesn’t start a fatigue timer.
The ONLY deck this has a modicum of a chance against is the greediest of priests, and even then. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this may possibly be the worst hearthstone card ever printed in all of history.
Does this mean that Warlock is going to get some major stalling tools over the next couple of expansions? Eugh.
More likely it's just another dead legendary card, printed to make Warlock a shi... fun class. Same as Neeru Fireblade, Deck of Chaos, Rin, Orchestrator of Doom, Fanottem, Lord of the Opera and so on.
More likely they will have a strong hand when casting this and have tools to add new cards to their decks alternative they will have a way of throwing this quite alot earlier than turn 8 thanks to mana cheating tools Blizzard loves to add to the game.
none of the cards you listed can remotely kill the opponent
Could possibly be the worst card ever. I cant even begin to see this ever working unless your opponent happens to pass out.
First off - I hate the design of this card, and it's really leading me to believe that with this expac we may finally see the ultimate balanced card - The Coin 2.0 (more on that later).
This card, however, just seems bad, but as with all warlock cards with a "downside", they'll probably print a companion card that turns the downside into an upside. Something like - if your deck has no cards summon a 10/10 taunt with lifesteal at the start of each turn....
If I undertand this card correctly you're definitely taking 10 fatigue damage over the 5 turns (barring immune or shuffle effects). I just don't see how any class survives with no additional cards for 5 turns and 8 + mana on each turn (not to mention you've pretty much skipped the turn this is played assuming (and it is a big assumption) you've actually paid mana to play it). It's hard enough surviving until turn 5 with some classes...
As for the "The Coin 2.0" - 5 mana - flip a a coin. Tails you win...heads you lose! Perfectly balanced and would fit the nonsense theme of this expac. People can argue endlessly about whether it's OP or not. Some will quote "played winrate" stats, some will quote mulligan win rates, some will even argue that the deepstate biases the results of the coin flip based on whether they just changed classes and rigged the MMR system...
It'll be epic, and of course when you lose to it you'll know you were just outplayed by the better player and you should have killed them before they played it.
Your "Coin 2.0" is a terrible card idea. There are decks that kill fast but run out of steam. So if that deck has a win rate of 50%, then turn 5 comes along, it's "Coin 2.0", and suddenly they win half the games they should've lost, bringing their win rate to 75%.
It was obviously sarcasm....perhaps I should have put an /s
ugh Im saying it sucks
