I never said longer = better. I said more complex plays than deciding to throw shielded mini bot turn 2, muster turn 3, shredder turn 4, and loatheb turn 5. If this means a game lasts 5 to 6 more minutes, which seems to be hell for some adhd people around here, then so be it.

How is the Dr 1-7 paladin any different than getting all your answers with Freeze mage then getting your win condition? Getting the perfect plays with ANY deck is not complex or exciting. It doesn't matter if the deck is Secret paladin, Freeze mage or Miracle Rogue.
Theres nothing different than both decks getting exactly what they want. Literally all I've been saying, or at least trying to say is a game should not be over for a control deck if they don't have that darkbomb, or any answer by turn 3. The 'complex' plays came down to what I like, I was not trying to say all decks need to think hard for every win.

So we should base the meta of a complex card game on the schedule of a 7 year old? I'm not saying the way I like to play is superior, but it should not be an auto loss to aggro decks. I play all decks from freeze mage to zoo lock, and in every case a game being over in 5 minutes is dull. Maybe get your kid to play more complex decks, gets that brain thinking, couple extra minutes won't hurt.

He's not ready for the spam emotes on turn 29. Maybe when he turns 8.
Listen, you are arguing about preference. You are not the arbiter of what is fun. That's my point. I'd rather blast a 2-3 record in 15 minutes than wait 30 minutes for you to feel fulfilled. Just deal with it, man. It's a game and some people will beat you and you deserve it in this case. Your hand sucked, he played his right. Game over.
Plus dont Warriors have this annoying little card draw card that costs less that DF and can draw lots o'cards? I suppose you don't play that card, whatever it's call. You know, the one all warriors play to fill up their decks, praying that DF isn't in their opponent's hand.
I never once said that's not how you should play it's not fun, I said my preference and my opinion on how a game should not be decided 2 minutes into the game. I'm all for aggro being good, mid range, combo, and control. Like I said you should have the freedom and the cards to play however you want.

There should be decks for all styles of gameplay. If you want a game thats all about playing the best creatures of curve then you secret paladin every where. If a person enjoys a slow control deck, then so be it, they should not lose by turn 3 or 4 because their deck is slower.

yes they should. Then they should adapt to the meta and not just blindly copy Hearthpwn decks and pretend they are great players.
If you enjoy slow decks, thank God there are counter decks to it because other players would rather play 3 games in 15 minutes vs. the one they are forced to suffer through with control Warrior
I'm all for playing the game how you want to, and you should have the cards and freedom to do so. But I have to ask how 3 games in 15 minutes can be at all interesting. That's literally drawing like 10 cards having a bad curve and conceding. I'm sorry but I want more complex thinking, cards, and strategy. I want to play with the cards in my deck, and think about how the hell am I going to win this, to get by with knowledge and skill.

Of course they should, if they're playing a deck with no early answers against a deck with only early cards, why does it make sense for them to still have a chance despite passing 3 turns doing dickall?
So if I don't have my darkbomb or frostbolt by turn three I should lose? The game should not be decided by turn 3 that's just mental.

posted a message on Why Entomb could be speeding up the meta

Well lots of decks counter priest. Druid is fairly decent, reno lock, freeze mage, after entomb I'm not sure about control warrior. If there was a rise in aggro because of this we would also see another part of the community play the control decks that counter the aggro. Priest is not very popular so I don't think it would effect the meta that much anyway. But I'd suspect we would see a rise in aggro but also different control decks, so it would balance out.

and blizzard is obviously supporting slow decks with reno jackson. They realize minion combat is not everything this game has to offer.

Have you played other card games before? There should be better plays than just playing minions on curve every turn. Some decks should be able to play very few minions and still be viable. Look up Magic the gathering to see the game blizzard should follow as close as possible.

posted a message on I'm clearly doing something really wrong

I've made it to rank 3 and let me tell you, I've gotten stuck at rank 16 for about 5 games before. It was during the season reset, but still it can feel bad man. Anyone with basic understanding of the game, a good deck, and smart trades, can make it to rank 10-5. Card games are not super complex, you make the plays that you can, or the plays that make the most sense based on the deck you are facing.

For dragon priest the mulligan phase can be super important, mostly keep any decent dragon that you get in the mulligan phase. Also (BOARD PRESENCE AND BOARD CONTROL!!!) You need the board, or something on the board. Some times that means casting velens on a twilight whelp. Hell I've had to velens a curator before.

Make smart trades with other minions, and keep your minions healed to the best health based on the class you are fighting. Heal your taunts to survive a true silver champion, consecration, other basic board clears/weapons.

It also may be worth throwing in one entomb for this meta, a lot of control decks out there and entombing a tirion, mal ganis, an archmage, can be a huge play.

I just got done doing 26 damage in one turn to a priest, while also freezing his board. He was at 7 health with an Auchenai Soulpriest on the board, so he could not heal through my Pyroblast in hand. I was down to 1 health, with one card left in my deck. This priest Flash Heal his own Deathlord, out comes my last Mad Scientist, causing me to take 1 fatigue damage for lethal next turn..... I was very impressed with the play, but god damn why I am never ever lucky. His first Deathlord also took out my Alexstrasza... Which lost me that game.

posted a message on Most enjoyable deck to play

After playing about 100 games with freeze mage, it is by far my favorite deck in hearthstone. I can't believe I actually went a year without really trying it out. I can't go back to the normal just drop minions and trade decks, I really hope the hearthstone team realizes they need more flavor in their card game. They talk about hating decks like freeze mage, when in reality, we need more decks that have spectacular win conditions.
