Thinking of cards that could help freeze mages. This might be a little too late game and too high cost, but it can allow for a clean turn 9 alex.

posted a message on GOT MY FIRST GOLDEN LEGENDARY!!!

My first was Tink master overspark. Disenchanted for sylvanas a while back now. My actual first one was alextrasza, it was four stage hype moment. First the glance, the click, hearing the high pitched inn keeper, and seeing alex was amazing as someone who plays freeze mage a lot. The next day I went yolo and bought another 50 packs and got golden archmage, I actually jumped out of my chair, and that's how my freeze mage got pimped out.

btw congrats. Opening a golden legendary is always an awesome experience, leaves you hungry for more though.

posted a message on which decks are you using to climb the ladder?

Freeze mage. Although it's not a great deck atm because the druids, aggro shamans, and reno locks. I refuse to play anything else. All my other favorite decks are countered just as bad right now, so screw it. I'm rank 13 atm, just started ranking up yesterday.

Ever since I played freeze mage, I can only play freeze mage. It's one of the few decks I actually enjoy, along with control warrior.

posted a message on What was your first legendary?

My first was Gruul but it was right after the tutorial so I had no idea it was even legendary. I did notice I could disenchant him and make my feral spirits for my shaman. I count my first legendary as Lord Jaraxxus. I was so happy I made a friend play with me so I could mess around with him. Ever since then I mainly played warlock and fell in love with the class.

I opened gruul from the first few packs you get after the tutorial. I had no idea it was even a rare card, disenchanted him and made some rare cards.

Very interesting year with lots of changes to the game. I honestly forgot that the nerf to undertaker happened in 2015.

nice meta blizzard, 70% secret paladins and 30% reno lock..laddering is the most boring experience i've evere had latelty

What people play is not blizzards fault, it's the community. Well the community mixed with the shitty constructed system we have at the moment. Losing is too punishing causing people to play the most consistent decks, or secret paladin and Reno-lock. If they removed from the constructed system the ability to decrease in rank ( but not lose the ability to lose stars ) we would see a waaay more diverse meta. If I knew I could stay at rank 5 with zero stars for 10 games as a mill rogue just to play some good hearthstone matches, I would. If I knew I could try to rank up with a mill rogue without going all the back to rank 10, I would. If they do this they should also remove the win streak bonus. This type of ladder would still require wins, and a better win rate to hit legend, but it takes away the very punishing de-ranking thing we've had a while. The amount of counter decks and RNG this game has is enough for me to agree with this, but getting a good meta is the most important thing.

posted a message on Freeze Mage vs Dragon Priest

I play both at the moment (but mostly freeze mage) and I can say that they are both very different decks that appeal to a different type of player. I for one love the control aspect of freeze, longer games, but it feels more like a game of chess. You need to spot the way you will win, and try to execute it the best way possible.

Dragon priest is more a of tempo based mid range deck that beats the hell out of  aggro decks, and can be decent against control if you get that tempo start. If you ever played a mid range zoolock, mid range hunter, and have enjoyed those dragon priest is "somewhat" similar. Very board heavy deck, and a deck that needs to trade smart and hit face later.

Both of these decks are tier 2 decks, they are not the best at the moment, but can absolutely be taken to legend. dragon priest is the deck that took me to rank 5. I pushed to rank 4 with freeze Mage.

http://www.liquidhearth.com/forum/hearthstone/499776-power-ranks-121-paladin-hangs-on (although this link is a bit out dated they do tell you the strengths and weakness of each deck and it does have freeze mage higher than dragon priest)

Also take into consideration that freeze mage can be very hard to play perfectly. You need to think turns ahead on plays you will make. I've had games where if I just saved the coin I would have probably won.

I play my zoo and face secret paladin over and over again, decide to switch to freeze mage to freeze the cancer away, but no. I face 2 reno locks and a control warrior, are you serious? This shit is rigged man. Those are the absolute worst match ups, not even winnable in most cases.

I've always heard the stories of people playing against 5 secret paladins in a row and always thought they were just exaggerating. Turns out they were not, I actually faced 5 secret paladins in a row at rank 4, this player base is cancer, the ranked system is cancer, and blizzard is taking their sweet time with the chemo therapy.

I don't know how many of you played World of Warcraft but I can't believe I don't see a want for a Burning Crusade expansion. It could even be the Night Elves vs the Burning Legion. As a warlock fanboy my mouth would drool over the sick ass demon cards that would come out, and we could see more night elf/human cards making some new tribes.

None of the expansions so far corresponded to a WoW expansion. It will likely remain that way.
TGT was based off a patch in WoW. Also they've shown that they are willing to change the formula with LoE. Anything Burning Legion related would have me screaming like a little girl, doesn't have to be based off the WoW expansion the burning crusade.

People blame the deck I blame the system. The reason why you see 60% secret paladin is because the ladder system is flawed. Whatever rank you reach is the rank you should be locked in, no more decreasing in ranks, but take away the win streak bonus. If people didn't lose their rank they wouldn't feel the need to play the most consistent deck, losing is way too punishing.

it would not change anything since HS players have a video-game-LOL-mentality (competition, opportunism, OP-ness) and not a card game players mentality (fun, friendship, relax).
Well I know it would change the way I play the game. I'd of course still play the competitive decks I enjoy, but I'd try out a shit ton of decks if it didn't take me from rank 4 to rank 6 or 7 again.
just do it anyway.. who gives a fuck about your rank? just play what you want. even if it takes you back to rank 20
I would like to maybe hit legend one day but the current ladder system makes it repetitive and a very time consuming and hard farm. I've hit rank 3 but I can't stand playing the same decks over and over again, this could be a pretty good fix, allowing for a huge variety in ranked.
